Dayeanu, and everyone here at SOoS,
Thanks for the encouragement. I am proud of all that WE have accomplished. But I am not secure in my mind that this will be enough for the management team. I can be blind to things that others see plainly, I didn't think there was anything so wrong with the place 2 weeks ago as to make me move out. Even after all the work I'm not sure if I got the problems solved enough. So until I get their approval I am still filled with anxiety and dread. I got a lot done and hope not to slip back too far when this is over. But for now I cannot rest comfortably until they say I can stay.

Can you ask them for written guidelines to which they wish you to comply? Then you could go down the list and make sure you've got it taken care of.

I keep telling myself that space is finite.. That I am only "allowed" to keep what I have room for. I always mean to empty my space completely and put back no more than the room will hold.
But alas, "I NEED THAT!" Raises its ugly head and thwarts my well intentioned plans. Your struggles sound most familiar. Just keep repeating: "space is finite! You CANNOT organize your way out of squalor."
Maybe it will sink in faster on you than it has with me.
Good Luck and Great Work so far!!!
(Why is it such a struggle to balance our belongings and our available space?)

I left work about 5 hours early so I could do last min details. I called the manager and asked him to come over for a "pre-test". He should be here in about 30 min. So no matter what he says I still have time to fix what he doesn't like.
Hoping he is happy! Wish me luck and stay tuned ! I'll post when I know what else I need to do.

That's great news, and I think I am most proud of you (not meaning to be patronising) for getting him to come in for a pre visit check when you still had some time left. Talk about being proactive! Xxx

I had a storage unit for a while. It was a great way of stashing things temporarily, but it ended up a nightmare for me. Yeah the first month one dollar come-on got me. I ended up paying about $50 a month. Plus they required the first payment up front and my check bounced. Yikes! Well, I was SO HAPPY the day I decided to move everything back to my own house. It turned out to be just ten containers- various plastic totes, and cardboard boxes. I moved them back home in one car trip. And I emptied the ten containers quickly, threw out a lot of stuff and have successfully stored everything else. I regret ever getting a storage unit. Chadow, it sounds like you are doing great. When the carpet is cleaned and you are back from NOLA, you can tackle those boxes properly, at your own speed, on your own terms.
