I'm crisis cleaning for the next three days. Sort of. I'm going to go through the crisis cleaning motions. I guess there is a crisis, I don't know. I've been depressed and let things get away from me quite a bit. I have no looming deadline, but the mess has started to take a considerable mental toll as of late. My landlord has been doing a few things around the property and it terrifies me. I also have a friend who needs a place to stay and would like to be able to let them stay with me, but can't right now. It's creating an awkward situation. So, I took today, tomorrow and Wednesday off from work. Let the crisis cleaning commence!

Good luck Shells, a mental toll is crisis enough, so good for you for getting started. Don't waste the time off! Keep posting! Diane

Shells! I hope that you manage to keep going and get everything done: crisis cleaning is not fun.

Thanks for the encouragement all! aquamarine I'm doing well so far. Pumping up some music and keeping the end goal in mind. It seems to be slightly better in a planned out way like this, where I scheduled time off and I have enough time to sleep. Plus there wasn't any major emotional event to deal with. I did 15 minutes in the kitchen, followed up 15 minutes in the dining room, followed by 15 minutes in the living room. I started a load of laundry at the beginning of this and rebooted the laundry at the end. I got a good chunk of the trash bagged up. Now I need to deal with it. Trash pickup was this morning, and the bin was full already because it's been stuck behind piles of snow for a month and I was finally able to get it out to the curb. I can probably take trash to the nearby apartment complex, but I'll have to wait until after dark. I'm taking a 15 minute break and then I'll get back to things. I need to conquer the dishes (or at least start) in the next round.

def6 I can't tag you for some reason, but glad to have you along. I love company, as long as it's virtual company not real life company! Alright. I did another 45 plus minutes. 15 minutes in the kitchen, got the dishes in the sink done or soaking and started the dishwasher. I have a dishwasher, but it doesn't work and water backs up into it. I can't get it fixed cause I can't have my landlord in. You know the drill. Then I did 15 minutes in my bedroom. Got my laundry basket put away so I can use it again, picked up a bunch of trash. Then 15 minutes, rebooting laundry, putting away the fresh load and cleaning up the floor in the bathroom. Things are moving along so far, I'm definitely making progress even though there isn't an area that's completely done yet. I've been doing well with discarding items and using amnesty liberal (though I suspect this is how I ended up with no forks). My neighbors both next door and up/down stairs aren't home, which is helping with my stress levels. And with the upstair neighbors gone, it means I can continously use the washer and dryer. I couple of struggles. The trash is building up, but I just can't do anything about it yet. There is so much dog hair. It's an ongoing problem, but where I haven't vacuumed lately, it's out of control. Plus the pup is blowing his winter coat. I had made an appointment at the groomers on Wednesday morning so hopefully I can get much of the hair gone by then and the grooming should help with the shedding. I'm going to take a break and then I'm back at it.

Hello Shells, I love that you are spending a set time in each room. I'm prepared to do the same thing (since I do this naturally already) I'll put the bathroom window up while I clean in there. It's breezy in Pensacola Fl today…quite unusual.

def6 How are things going? I wish it were warm enough to open the windows here. Maybe in a few weeks. I did simmer a pot of on vinegar with some citrus peels, which seems to help with the any smells. I did another 45 minutes. 15 minutes in the kitchen working on dishes and cleaning. I hate dishes more than anything. I always struggle with them. 15 minutes in the bathroom, scrubbed the tub a bit, cleaned off the vanity top, and got everything off the floor. Making progress there. And 15 minutes to reboot laundry, put away clean laundry and working in the bedroom. Things are starting to get a bit more challenging now, as I have to do some more in depth cleaning and not just general picking stuff up. I'll probably take a break to eat something now, but then I need to get back to things. I'm looking forward to getting all the trash out tonight. I took some of the big industrial strength trash bags from work and they are definitely making my life easier right now.

Pretty happy now. I went over the bathroom with dishwashing liquid and a micro fiber. It wasn't very effective , so I went straight to the scrubbing bubbles. I just wiped the corners of the floor with my cloth. I'll have to unload the surface of the vanity to clean it. I'm just going to pile it into a container. You're doing great!
