I'm going to try it, too.
Right after I "spill" the last of the cooking wine!

Great, and I think this method will work for any age, not just kids!

This is hilarious! And so true! I like the author s insistence that you not stop to give instructions. I remember my mother instructing me on hospital corners, and also remaking the bed after I had made it! This is why I rarely make my bed!

My daughter is helping a girl from church clean her room. Never mind that my daughters room is just as bad as this girls room.
She spent 10 hrs helping her saturday (and got $80)THey found a liquified sandwhich (still in the ziploc baggie thank goodness). the girl wanted to save empty Monster cans and had a hard time parting with other objects. My daughter talked her though it. THey only made it a quarter of hte way around the room. I am going to forward this link to my daughter as well. THough this room in the video did not look bad at all....looked like a 10 minute tidy to me!

Yeah, the room wasn't anywhere near what mine is - but if I could do it in 10 hours instead of 10 minutes, I'd still be was any ahead!

Yes, I loved the way they cut it back to basics and get rid of the "OCD" stickie points that have thwarted so many of us! Jannie I do think it would work for anyone.

If you decide to use the blowtorch, it goes even faster.

If you decide to use the blowtorch, it goes even faster. Ok, this made me really laugh out loud!

This is basically how I clean my room. I have a basket for "goes somewhere else" I have a hamper for dirty clothes, I have an ongoing large basket for stuff for my Grandkids, my problem is the stuff that needs to stay in my room that doesn't have an assigned home. Maybe the blowtorch is a viable solution for that stuff.

Well, I attempt to clean a room like this (sometimes). I clear the bed, make it up, put the clothes on it, sort the clothes and either put away or put in laundry basket, put stacks of papers on the bed, sort a few and that's where I stop. When I go to bed that night, I just pile the papers back on the floor. Maybe I shouldn't ever use my bed to sort papers. Hmmmm

Di YOU ARE SO FUNNY! imamess, I'm sure there's some kind of bad feng she a about putting paperwork on your bed. The clearing it off at bedtime would be where I would lose track of all my papers. In fact, That IS where I lose track of all my papers.

dayeanu, never rule out the possibilities that can be obtained by a judiciously applied blowtorch.... hummmmmm. Of course IF I actually purged my closet, stuff might acquire a true home, but let's not push it here... meanwhile...about that blowtorch.... Last night I shared my bed with supplies for a sewing project. They were at the foot of the bed and they really didn't hog the covers. They were much more accommodating than some people I have shared a bed with.
