My house is a mess right now! I've got to get going here and I don't want to. I'll just start with the basics: dishes and laundry and see where that gets me…then I might pick up a bit... Come join me if you need to get up and get going

I'm in def6- my dishes are already soaking. Time to wash, benches, prep dinner, tackle piles on floors - unmess this mess. Off the computer and off I go.

All flat surfaces hurriedly cleared and wiped, waiting for them to dry, now have to put the stuff that was on them away in proper place- the hard bit.

Hello Better….So glad you're working with me! So far I have put dirty dishes in the dishwasher and they are washing now. Put 1 load of laundry on to wash….. I'm just doing "no brainer" stuff right now…..I'll go take some garbage out and empty all the little trash cans. I feel like a delinquent teenager spending the least time possible on each task (10 minutes max)

My bathroom Clean! I used Lysol wipes and dishwashing detergent to clean the toilet and scrubbing bubbles to clean the bath. Also wiped my mirror with a micro fiber and water and cleaned the bathroom sink with scrubbing bubbles. 10 min.
on to the hall bathroom.

Hall bathroom done! Same fast method…all trash out. Clothes picked up off of floor. I'll vacuum tomorrow (too loud for tonight) and try to tidy some more. Maybe a good plan for this week is to work on a problem area each day and then by the end of the week the house would look much clearer. I'll think of some more 10 minute jobs and do those along the way as well. Best of luck Better on your cleaning, Sounds like you have a very strong start.

Yes thanks to you def6. Your 10 minute sessions are really paying off! Posted on that weekly thread and felt like crying shortly thereafter. Then decided to finish of here. Cleared clutter off all flat surfaces, showered dressed to shoes, dinner finished (chicken and veg soup simmering away), sink clean again, bench clean again. Have to go out now. DH I'm sure is going out of his way to avoid any work today. Must delegate for him- his braun is handy. Keep going def6- it's great to see how much you can get done in 10 mins- is really encouraging me.

I was sick for a couple of weeks and didn't do much besides the basics, and then felt better and was almost caught up (scrubbed the backsplash behind the stovetop, got caught up on laundry, the works...everything but the bathroom, which isn't all that bad) and then I had a seizure the night before last. I'm epileptic, so it's not an OMG thing, but it put me out of commission for another couple of days and I still feel only slightly better than death warmed over with lots of little pains. So, I'm still getting caught up.
This morning I did dishes and laundry and cleared the coffee table.
todo...bathroom and more more laundry primarily. And sweep. And I should probably dust. Sigh.

Dear Wind, I'm sorry that happened. I hope you feel better very soon …so you can get things back where you like them. Hello Better, You've done fantastic! I'm convinced that these 10 min jobs can tackle any housework woes that you may have …even if you split a job up into several. And the good enough way is good enough for me! I don't want to be bogged down , I want to be blissful Onward to empty the junk out of my van!

Hi Wind, maybe go slow until your aches and pains pass. Yeah def6 considering I was at a loss this am, I did well in the end. Plan for tomorrow is to get all this out of the way as fast as I can, and as soon as I can- will see what happens. Unfortunately I can't make a shorter list cos I posted a longer list I committed to try for 1 week- hence my plan for speed to stop it hanging over me.

Emptied the junk out of my van! You're on a roll Better. A couple of 5 minute tasks may be enough TaDa's for you to take off today(or is it still yesterday for you ) . I cheer for 5 minute successes that transform .

Thanks, guys. MOVING seems to be actually making me feel better (funny how that works sometimes!) Good work on de-junking the van, def6! My kitchen and livingroom are basically done except for the really nitpicky stuff (nitpicky by my admittedly low standards...I just can't bring myself to ever freak out over a few smudges on the mirror and stuff like that) The bathroom is mostly done...almost there. Toilet, wipe down the top of the bath tub, and put fresh towels down on the floor (we have a REALLY messed up, falling apart bathroom floor that I have to keep covered in towels.)
