Scooped litter pans, gave everyone fresh water, and am now ready for bed. Daye, thank you for this thread, I always get more done when directly working with other people. Good work on getting your trash out even though you had a bad day! Diane

Thank you to everyone for joining me in an 8 minute uprising. Our world is a little bit neater place tonight, our homes are a little bit cleaner, our pets and plants a little better cared for because of it.
Now, to everyone who is waking up this morning while we are going to bed, I hope the momentum continues. May you make your homes 8 minutes (or more) nicer.

Daye,
I bagged all of my garbage and recycling and got it out there for my eight minutes. I always try to look for more to put in there.

dayeanu: thanks for starting this thread! I wanted to hide under my blankets all day today but will go and cook a protein rich breakfast for me and make a cappuccino. 8 minutes! Will treat myself to some nachos and salsa for "dessert". Done! Eggs on dark sourdough bread and a cappucino... will feel so much better if I eat a good breakfast. Next 8 minutes: dishes!

darn thread. I'll go wash up. Take out bin-ables from dinner. Some things I don't like to wait inside. Then I'll make a cuppa.

I took your challenge, dayeanu! Thanks, I was feeling blah but after reading this I just did 8 minutes. Cleaned and polished stove top, cleaned bathroom mirror and kitchen window, swept up dog hair in kitchen and living room, wiped down kitchen counters, picked up random trash and tossed it, hung kitchen towel up, transferred ground coffee from bags into storage container, put smalls to soak in bathroom sink. Wow, all that in eight minutes. Pretty cool! Now I have to get ready for work while the dogs are all outside, but I shall check back this evening for another bout.

I might have to apply this to work today. I have projects I am avoiding. I can attack them in 8 min spurts.
How did you come up with 8mins? I am so OCD i would have done 5 or 10 as they are so much "neater".

2 x 8 minutes: showered, brushed teeth and put on some makeup. 2 x 8 minutes: did the dishes, wiped the kitchen, heated up lunch.
Feel so much better!

8 is Daye's magic number. She tried different lengths years ago and 8 worked for her. Longer than 5, but still managable. Papermoon has 12 as her number. She loves to do things for 12 min. If 5 or 10 suits you better, do that.
I need go spend some minutes getting ready for bed.

I admire anyone who can work with a timer. I can not do that, it is too stresfull for me. I work like: I will just pick this piece. I will put away two things. I will just wipe this part of a counter... but having a time presure on me
