Well I'm back on the challenge Going to be gone for a good part of May but will add my work there as part of the challenge and add my office work: In no particular order: 1) Finally finish unpacking all my boxes - my memorabilia boxes will just be re-stored in plastic for a future challenge - you think this thread will still be going in 2021? 2) Hang up all the pictures, etc. that are being stored in a closet. 3) Bring in a truckload of items from out of state and put away - actual use and repair of half of that stuff will be a fall or winter or next spring challenge! 4) Work on taxes 5) Complete my filing (home and office) and fixing my office schedule to get caught up 6) Get back into my exercise/diet goals - I've really gone downhill in that regard. Good luck everyone! I have a feeling that they will inch into late summer goals too because I also know of two trips for me - two trips for DH and four groups of people planning to visit - most of them for at least a couple of nights. Hi lucie, good luck with the weight loss--what have you been doing--fewer calories or more exercise, or both? One of these days this should be my goal too but if I can't even get myself to stretch for 10 minutes a day I think I need a really serious plan before trying to lose some weight.
Saffron, my efforts to do a will were completely stymied, so I hope you can get yours done--that's one of those things that's so important, but easy to put on the back burner and not think about.
I realized I should have added my pantry to my goals--even though it's a short-term goal that I want to get done in the next few days, it's still a big project and it'll help to work on it in this thread. So I'm going back to add a #6 goal.

Flotsam, I agree with you that decluttering can feel really good--once you're at the stage that you know you'll be better off without some of the stuff. Are you planning a move soon? Then you probably have a lot to do towards it. Phoenixcat, I KNOW this thread will still be going on til 2021--I know there will never come a day in my lifetime when I'm DONE! I want to say that I'll start cleaning a set of blinds this afternoon, but the blinds that are left in the sunporch all require moving furniture out to get to them, so it would be best if I did the whole thing at one time so I'm not moving furniture back and forth. In the past, it would have not bothered me at all to move the furniture away from the window and leave it there for days...now that would really annoy me, so I guess that's an improvement! I have to remember to schedule the blinds for early (the sunporch faces east) because once the sunlight is gone from that room it's harder to see the dirt while I'm cleaning. I'll see how long I stay at my mid-day job and how tired I am when I get home this afternoon. I'll do SOMETHING towards my goals this afternoon, if not blinds, then something else. I did my stretches for today already. Diane

Diane, I want to cut on sugar intake - have been eating sweets again this week - and add more vegetables. And I want to take long walks from work, or use the bicycle or a scooter at least once a week. I also started to work in the garden today and it is more than enough exercise. I have probably overdone it this afternoon.

I love reading about everyones' goals, and would love to join in. But TBH, I can't set goals past throwing away my paper plate from plate from breakfast, or working for X minutes. So I will enjoy reading about what all you are doing here!

Good work on stretching, Diane! My actual plan is to move not before 2017, but you never know. I want to be ready, and because I don't own a car, everything needs more time and careful planning. Furthermore I want to get a feeling of "starting over". dayeanu, thanks for cheering us on! You could easily participate by committing to work at least 8 minutes a day. TBH I doubt I'll work that much per average, at least not on the special goals! So it was time to part with some personal notes. Last year I wasn't ready, but now I am. I wouldn't want anyone to find those notes, not even me. They are soaking in water since I don't have a shredder.

And WTG on getting rid of the personal notes. That has been very hard for me, and sad. I know I did the right thing, but.... I hope it leaves you feeling free.

Count me in again. I have to admit the first three items on the list are hold-overs from the Spring challenge. I did make progress on the financial stuff. All my property taxes are paid. On time and up to date. it has been lots of years since I could say that.
The hold-overs are: 1. Establish and exercise program. 2. Deal with two financial matters. 3. Clean main rooms in the house so I can let people in.
To that, add seasonal chores: 4. Mow grass inside and outside of fence. 5. Plant a vegetable garden.
And, lastly, make two purchases: 7. Buy a riding lawn mower. 8. Buy a printer.
I have put off purchasing those two things and I really need them. My current mower is a push mower which was fine when I lived in the suburbs and had a small lawn. Now I live in the country and have a very big fenced yard, and would like to mow some of the ground outside the fenced yard so I could walk to the garden and other places without fighting my way through tall grass and weeds.
As for the printer...I don't have one that works, and that has been a hassle time and time again.

Flotsam, how wise to be thinking about your move this early, and acting on things that'll make it easier. I don't guess too many people think to do that. Moving is always way more work than anyone thinks it will be--the last couple of days before the move are insanely busy.
Daye, so nice of you to stop by--cheers are most welcome, and so are you!
Goldfinch, some of my goals are the same as last time too, one of these times we'll get them done! One of your goals sounds like fun--the riding lawn mower! I also want to buy a printer because I would really love to be able to copy things at home, but alas--my printer is still working fine so I can't justify a new one until this one bites the dust. Can you break down the job of the financial matters into tiny steps? I think I'm going to do that for my bathroom/kitchen repair project, because I'm finding that one intimidating. I always do better once I write out the steps I'll need to take.
Today I washed 1/3 of one set of blinds. This is the easiest of the 3 sets, it's behind my small printer stand, and I ended up not having to move the printer stand at all because I just reached over it. A little harder on my arms but easier overall, I think. This set is really filthy too--it seems like the ones on the east side of the porch are just caked with grime on the outside-facing slats. Now I'm imagining what they look like to the neighbors on the other side of the building who look across a small building entry area and can see my windows--I'm sure they'll be glad I'm cleaning them!

Diane that blinds task sounds daunting, but will really make a difference in that room. I got rid of a couple of clothing items and worked on my paper monster a bit. I confess it hasn't been one of my more productive days!

Diane, I still remember my last move very vividly, and not in a good way. When I made the first plan, I tentatively planned for 2015. Obviously that didn't work out, but that's related to paid work, not to the state of my apartment.
Dayeanu, it wasn't the first time I threw away personal notes, and I know it's good for me. Sometimes it just takes a bit of time to make the final decision. I'm glad I was ready!
iprocrastinate, every item counts. Good work!
Today I tossed 8 magazines.

Today I washed the other 2/3 of the set of blinds I started yesterday. So one down already. Now, if I could just keep this up I wouldn't have any problems!
I did my stretching, and am about half way done with my pantry project. Actually it's not going to take as much work as I thought, because I'm just switching things from one set of bins to the shelves, and adjusting some other things--it turns out there's no need to take everything out of there. So, I should be able to finish it tomorrow. The book case will work fine for what I wanted.

Good job, everyone. @diane I saw that you are planning to post daily. I don't think I can pull that off but I will try to give progress reports more frequently than I usually post.
For my first goal, I found an EA (an accountant certified to work with IRS) and set up an appointment for day after tomorrow. I have to finish gathering as much as I can of the paperwork I have (lots done already) so I can present it to the EA on Wednesday. Tomorrow I have pdoc and dentist and errands so I will be in town all day. It's now or never.
For my second goal, I spent part of yesterday working on the hoard house. Barely made a dent in a previous dent but then every dent counts. That's my mantra to keep me from giving up. I already want to give up.

Hi all I haven't done one of these challenges in ages, great to read everyone's plans. Sounds like you all have made a great start 1. Get my craft room finished- I need to pick flooring, buy a unit and get everything back in. 2. Work through cleaning out our filing cabinet, going to do 8 mins a day on this 3. Maintain house cleaning, try and get a routine going 4. Put pictures up, bought the hooks this weekend. 5. Decorate downstairs loo, paint bought today. 6. Hopefully find my bikini bottoms in the attic and make a holiday list 7. Continue to work on getting back to goal weight...30lbs to go 8. Paint DD s room and sell her wardrobes and buy new smaller one. 9. Sort the spare bedroom, probably a roll over as I don't want to start any new rooms until the rest are fully straight.
