Diane, I admire your practical approach. You're not hindered by perfectionism!

You're not hindered by perfectionism!Ha, that's for sure--if I was waiting for perfection I would never do anything! Diane

Well, the only goal item I did today was stretching. I had hoped to work on sewing the jeans but I just can't get the energy to do that today. Hopefully tomorrow.

Good work on the decluttering, flotsam!
Once again, I have only done my stretching, it didn't feel like I had a long enough stretch of time at home to sew the jeans. Of course, I DID, but because it didn't FEEL like it, I never got around to it. Tomorrow and Monday are busier than today so Tuesday is the first day I have a half day off. Even if I don't get to the jeans tomorrow, I'll do something else goal related. I'm trying to get the stretching out of the way in the morning, I hope that continues to work. It makes sense too, because when I wake up I'm the most inflexible so it helps to stretch.

Hi everyone. I'm here, very grim, and determined. Very, very long story short, DSO ended our almost 12 year relationship about 2 hours ago. His main reason -- I treat him like a slave. This is the man who put one French door up to my living room 4 years ago and left the other broken one on. I've had to use a bungee cord to keep the doors together since then. More like that, much more.
My early summer 2-month challenge is to expand my small self-employment so I can hire a real man to do some heavy work around here. I will continue to clean the house enough so that I can hire a stronger person to come in to do my walls.
I wish everyone here success in their own plans, and I wish for myself the strength to not reconcile, and go on alone.

Mynicehome, I'm so sorry. I hope you can move forward with your home because you deserve a comfortable place to live. Good luck on expanding your employment and on cleaning up.

Stretching only today again. And I didn't even do that until this evening.
In my defense I had some unexpected work to do in the middle of the afternoon, in what was supposed to be my at-home time.
Busy again tomorrow, but maybe I can do better than today.
I hope the rest of you are making progress!?

Good work keeping on with stretching, Diane.
My goal is small, I have to do a lot at paid work, so I won't be too busy with it and won't have to report daily successes.
Working on goal #1: another book (fiction) out. It is in such a bad condition that it's not fit to be donated. And I ripped apart a partly used notebook. I saved the empty pages to use them as scribbling paper. I really use a lot of that right now, therefore it's sensible to keep it.

flotsam, I love how you set achievable goals, both you and dtesposito. Mine are so broad and long-term. I need to work on that. On Friday I chose a company and made an appointment to get a new garage door opener for the barn so we can physically get in there and get started maybe weekend after next. I panicked over the weekend about letting so many people see my mess and the fact that this is all happening too fast. I'm sure they will send a crew of two and they'll talk about it on their way back to town. Oh well. I called today and postponed the appointment to Friday because of a dentist conflict and when I did I mentioned that I wasn't able to get the door open by myself and that I expect we will find quite a mess behind it. At least they didn't cancel. I'm still considering inventing an elderly aunt to blame it on but I can't really do that because of my own age. I'd best just bite the bullet and take responsibility for it. The door won't open because of the broken opener and my lack of strength, not because it's jammed by stuff so that's good. Tomorrow I plan to head into town early to sign papers and get them faxed to the IRS and hope they will lift the levy right away. On to my brother's then for shampoo/laundry/pets, then the dentist and then errands on the way home. It will be a very full day, easily 60 miles on the odometer, with lots of traffic and at least 6 stops.

I am new here and so excited to make some goals for this two month period beginning today: - make appts for medical check ups for family - have a piece of furniture moved to a different room - make some phone calls and write some letters necessary to finish a project - make an appt with my attorney to finish my will - weed garden and place mulch - make at least one visit to a flooring store for some ideas on flooring and costs
OK that's it!

Hi magda! You have some good goals there--how large is your garden? Or should I ask, how many weeds are in it? Sparkle, you are just chargin ahead, aren't you? Do you feel like you're on a fast-moving train and can't stop? But think of how much progress you'll make, and how wonderful it'll be when you finally get to your destination! I only managed stretching again today--but I guess I should be happy with that, I didn't make this many days in a row last time. My muscles don't feel good yet--but I know they will if I keep at it. I still have a sore shoulder, but I'm just taking it really easy with that one, instead of giving up the stretching altogether. Diane
