Hi Sue--I forgot, when is your new realtor coming to see the house? I'm sure you thought it would be warmer by now, but you might as well move ahead with your house prep, then when it finally gets hot you'll be more ready. Are your window boxes still on your protected back porch?

Hi Diane dtesposito, I completely forgot to come and post here every day The realtor (I'll call her D) is coming over today at 1 pm. Yikes! I'm not ready. Working on it a lot this morning. She isn't officially my realtor yet. I interviewed her last week and we set up a time for her to come over for a look-see, that's all. I'll ask her for a CMA. I would like to interview at least one more realtor before I list. Yes, my window boxes are still in the back porch. It may go down to 33F tonight. I'll have to bring all the pots of geraniums back in. All 20 of them.

I would like to interview at least one more realtor before I list.So in addition to getting your house ready to be sold, you also have to deal with interviewing people--this makes me hope I never have to sell this place! Last night I forgot to come here and report on the day, I was watching cable news and got involved in the coverage of the Amtrak train crash. I also forgot to finish my stretching, which I had started early in the day. I got a phone call while stretching and looked at the clock, I still had 2 more minutes left to do but stopped for the call and figured I'd finish the other 2 minutes later. So today I have to add 2 minutes to my 8 so that I feel like I'm caught up. The other thing I got to yesterday was altering the first pair of jeans--I didn't finish, but they're far enough along to wear today and see how they feel. I know I have to at least narrow the cuffs a little more. I'm so glad to get started on that job. I have another partial day off today, I'll be home from 2:00 on, so I'm hopeful about getting more done on my goals. Diane

sue5000, My hat is off to you. Moving is one thing, selling a house quite another. I hope all your hard work yields huge rewards. Where do you plan to move? Will you put your things in storage while you look around? I have to do this one of these days and I can't get a handle on the logistics. dtesposito, yay for perseverance. I hope it becomes second nature soon. Altering jeans is also grounds for hearty cheers. There's a real knack to that, one I don't have. Yesterday, I finished the taxes and got them faxed in. I checked this morning to see if the levy had been lifted but not yet. I will wait till tomorrow to call and leave a message as that is always my only option. The key deadline now is May 18, the day before the levy transfers permanently to the IRS. Until then, the money is at the bank, on hold.

Yesterday, I finished the taxes and got them faxed in.
That's excellent Sparkle, I hope you get the result you want.
All I did today is my stretching, including the 2 minutes from yesterday. Sounds silly, but if I let 2 minutes go I'll start slacking and then be right where I was last time, stopping altogether.
I'm getting tired of my same stretches, I have to pull out one of the 2-3 stretching books that I have (you knew I'd have books about it, right?) and find something new to do!

Diane---I have been practically nodding my head every time you mention those jeans. I am short & even petite length pants have to be hemmed. Some sleeves too. I have a pile of never-worns b/c I have so much trouble getting around to doing them. I used to do it regularly, while watching TV & could do a lot at a time. Now my Arthritis bothers me if I do more than one pair in an evening. Also, my other goals of yard work & downsizing make me so tired, I balk badly at the sewing. Gosh, when my kids were young & we had little money, I spent so much time at end of winter, hemming their darker winter pants into play shorts, etc.--- , I used to joke that my kids wore corduroy play shorts before the OP brand of them ever became popular. They each had a couple of pairs of real summer shorts to wear for visits, etc. But back then, my hands didn't ache !-----I don't see a sewing emoticon !!! catcat

I am not doing well with my plan to loose some weight. I think I have put at least a kilo on. BTW, jeans or any trousers... you are lucky to be petite and be able to hem them. Imagine trying to add some lenght to them.

Hi catcat, I think my aversion to the sewing is that I don't really know how to sew--I can just sew a straight line on the machine. So I don't do a great job with the altering, especially since I'm just taking in one side of the legs--I wouldn't say the end result is great--but it's adequate. I'm sure I wouldn't mind it so much if I knew what I was doing. In fact, I have to pull out the instruction book every time I have to re-thread the machine--I can't remember how to do it because I use the machine so rarely.
Lucie, sorry about the weight going in the wrong direction--that is often my problem too. And you're right, better to cut off a chunk of the cuff and sew it up, than to try to add something to the end of the pants leg!
I forgot to post again last night, all I did yesterday was stretching. Today, I'm happy to say that I stretched PLUS washed half a set of blinds.

Doing waaaaay better than expected!
Goal #1 completed (what? I'm as surprised as anyone!) except that the levy hasn't been lifted. I will call this weekend and leave a message reminding them that the deadline is, I believe, the 19th and everything was faxed to her on the 14th at the latest (accountant did the faxing, papers signed on the 12th). If it doesn't get lifted on Monday, I'm afraid I am caught in a bureaucratic snafu and won't get the overage back for ages. I owed $66, they have take over $1500. Fortunately, my nephew stepped in to help me.
Goal #2 - the barn. Yesterday, for the first time ever, I let two strangers onto the property to install a new garage door opener. Because of the broken door I had not seen the mess for at least 5 years. We all got to see it at the same time. It was horrible, made even worse by a feral cat or raccoon that had gone exploring through the stacks of boxes and stuff and turned them into huge piles in what were still a few empty spaces. There are no goat paths left. The bags of aluminum recycling (from my soda days) had been torn into and scattered everywhere. At least that part will be easy. One of the men was very nice about it, the other never spoke to me and was obviously disgusted. It was my nightmare come true. But it's over.
On Wednesday the two people I am hiring to help me clean out the barn are coming out to talk it over and take into town a load of donations that I have had stacked against a wall in the living room over here for about a year. They live just blocks from the One Nation donation place that I prefer, a huge bonus. We will talk money and what I need from them and what they need from me and get that all clear. I will let them into this house while we talk and serve sparkling cider. He said they can only work when their other jobs don't conflict. This will probably work out well for me, too. Less pressure and there will be things that only I can deal with. I've got to have less pressure. I am quite overcome by what's been happening lately.

Great job on completing goal #1, sparkle! I had to concentrate on paid work last week. Yesterday I went through the drawer with manuals, and there was only one to toss. I haven't even started with goal #2.

I am making some progress. Made and already had one medical appointment so some progress there. Made a phone call for lawyer appointment. Rainy weather here has kept me from any gardening work. Lots to do!

Excellent, so there is progress being made.
And Sparkle is speeding ahead like gangbusters!! I'm SO happy you're getting help--getting the donations out will not only open up space, it'll make you feel good that your stuff is going to be of use to someone else. Hopefully that will encourage you to let more things go.
I did find some new stretching exercises to do today--actually old ones that I used to do a while back but forgot about. I did the cat stretch one (on the floor on all fours and then slow arching of your back upwards and the downwards) and I couldn't believe how GREAT it made my stiff neck feel! It's supposed to be a lower back exercise but I actually noticed improvement in my neck afterwards. It will be added to my daily repertoire for sure. Now, if I can only start getting the stretching done in the morning when it will do the most good.

Hello D2M, thanks for joining this time, I hope things are going okay with your parents. Sometimes just breathing and getting through is all you can accomplish, and that's enough!
Today I did my stretching, no other goal work. I don't think I'll get anything else done until Tuesday.
