Made a second medical appointment. Two more to go. Have to recall lawyer, she never returned my call. I am thinking of all of these new goals to add but I am going to stick to my original. Congrats to everyone on their progress

Good for you magda, just keep plugging away--I hope the lawyer returns your call. Someone else was making a will too--Saffron? Maybe I'll put that down again for a future goal, but not this time.
I forgot to post yesterday, I did 4 minutes of my stretching in the morning before leaving for my sister's, but I forgot to finish in the evening. So, this afternoon, I just did 12 minutes to make up yesterday and today. I love that back stretch that helps my neck--it honestly feels so much less stiff since I added that in every day. And I had been doing some specific neck exercises too but that one seems to work better.

Thanks Diane! I forgot to make any calls today because after work, I had to get to two different places and it was a bit hectic. But tomorrow! Good luck with your stretching.

I went to the dentist today and he fixed the problem so I can eat again. Yay! A week on yoghurt was too much. On the way home I stopped at Lowe's and got a box cutter and contractor bags and a tarp, supplies for attacking the barn. I haven't heard back from P about when we are to start and we need to be clear about the job and payment and haven't done that to my satisfaction yet. There's a chance he will "drop by" tomorrow to pick up donations though I have left him two messages saying that I need to know what time and he hasn't responded. He lives only blocks away from the charity I like to give to so that will be a real boon if it works out. I'm trying not to get discouraged by the red flags I see here.

Made flyers to put up in town for tarot readings for groups. Girls' nights, reunions, whatevers. Small step forward to ultimately hiring someone to help here. Will get them up tomorrow. Hoping for a mid-June or July start.
sparkle...way to go on clearing the barn. I hope you get workers straight from heaven.
Good work all!

Hi mynicehome, good luck with the flyers, do you have a local paper that you could advertise in also?
Sparkle, I agree that you need to get the job and pay details firmly set before you start so there aren't any misunderstandings. If you feel funny about it, practice ahead of time how to word it so you're prepared if they don't bring it up first. If they say to worry about it later stand firm and say that you've had misunderstandings in the past so you want to make sure you talk about everything up front.
Maybe they're just casual about the work since you don't have a firm deadline. You could also tell them at the beginning that you're not sure how the job will go so you should both consider the first sessions a trial period to make sure you're both happy. That way you could cut it short if you're not comfortable with the way it's going. You don't even have to blame it on them, you could say you hadn't looked in the barn in a long time and didn't realize it was such a big job, so you're cutting it short.
Hopefully once they start it'll all work out great, though.

Like always I'm late starting. Since there are only 6 weeks left I am only going to work towards 1 goal. It is cleaning up my kitchen. First I want to get all the dishes washed and eliminate the goat path. Then start clearing off the counters. If I get that done I will try to find room in the cupboard for the dishes I have on a multi tiered shelf. I brought into the kitchen years ago to have a place to put dishes as I prepared them for Thanksgivng dinner. Other things wold be cleaning out frig and vacuuming coils of cat hair. There is more to do but the eventual goal is to get the oven burner and dishwasher fixed and make the kitchen so I can cook without moving stuff or tripping over it. Jean

Catcat, that's wonderful that you're making progress! You must live somewhere that has already had some warm weather, to get so much gardening in.
Jean, glad you joined in--you have an exciting goal! Imagine how great it'll be to be able to use your kitchen easily! Are you going to break the kitchen down into zones to work on?
Today I did my stretching, and I also got some work done on the clothing. I finished the last bits of the first pair of jeans, then I did the initial altering of the second pair, they're ready to wear so I can see what else I have to do. Even though the second pair is the same brand, size and style of pants, the waistband is a little smaller (which is not good news for me...) so I hope they'll be okay. I also narrowed the sleeves on one scrub shirt.
During the last couple of weeks I've been inspecting my socks after each wash load, and I purposely made sure I wore and washed all the pairs I have, so I was able to get rid of some with holes. I see I have some more that are wearing thin so it will probably not be long till they will have to go, so I'm thinking I might go ahead and put some socks on my shopping list. I don't need them right away though, so I'll remember the next time I get a chance to go to a store that has them.
Left to do on my clothing goal: wear and tweak alterations on newest pair of jeans, do a minor fix on my first pair, narrow the sleeves on my remaining few scrub shirts, and maybe buy one or two more lightweight black t-shirts from Target. After those things I think I'll be done--I don't remember the last time I had 3 pair of jeans that fit at the same time! It will make this summer much easier.

Didn't check in again yesterday, I think I was on a vacation from posting at all yesterday.
I only did 4 minutes of my stretching yesterday, which carries over 4 to today--and today I only did the original 8, which means I'm still 4 minutes behind.
Yesterday I did the minor repair on my first pair of jeans (which are actually old and will not last much longer) and I tried to do the last alteration on the 3rd pair, but I really don't like the way they fit. Not only the waist is different, but the whole seat area as well--even though it's the same item, I bought them at different times and obviously they're different enough to be noticeable. So I did a little adjustment but I'm really not sure if they even work. So I have one good pair, one good pair that won't last too much longer, and one bad pair. So have to reevaluate the jeans.
Nothing else done today but the 8 minutes of stretching.

I'm back! Since I was gone most of the month the only thing I've done is work on DM's house. Good part (for her) is that I took away one very full large truck bed, one semi-full trailer, one very full car trunk and one very full backseat away from her home and it is on track to get to my home by mid June The bad part is that it is heading to my home! However, a good portion is storage things (like cabinets and bookcases) and I actually have spots planned for everything else. Lots of totes of photos that are easier to go through here while mom is visiting. Too depressing to look at pictures of loved ones you have lost when you are by yourself. Plan on spending the next week or so getting room ready for this stuff to get here. And, since I've been gone - lots of regular things to do at home as well. Good luck everyone! PC

Hi phoenixcat--oh no, I hope you have room for everything you're bringing home--it sounds like you're moving all over again! Hopefully things will fall into place.
I did catch up my stretching exercises today, but I'm doing them in smaller segments across the day. I don't know if that's good or bad--it might actually better to do a little in the am and a little in the pm, on the other hand--even though I'm stretching arms, legs, shoulders, back--they're all connected and I somehow feel it would work better if I do them all at once. I guess I'll have to figure that out.
It's also not really getting me into a habit when I don't have a set time and procedure for doing them. I guess I'm still doing better than not doing them at all, though.
I did finish the second half of the last set of blinds I started, which means 4 out of the 5 sunporch sets are done. The one remaining is the one behind the heavy file cabinet, so that's going to be a big job and will have to be done all at one time. That'll definitely have to be done on a day when I only have work either in the morning or in the late afternoon.
Only a week left and we'll be half way through this challenge.

Good progress with the blinds, Diane!
I put another book (non-fiction) into the donation box.

Hi flotsam, thanks, it would be nice to finish that last set and get one part of the challenge over with. Might have to wait until next week though, because I'm a little busier for the latter part of this week.
I did not do my stretching yesterday, and I didn't post either. Today I did 16 minutes, 8 in the morning and 8 at night, to make up yesterday. I really, really don't want to stop the stretching, especially since that one exercise is helping my neck so much. I don't know if I feel a difference anywhere else, but my neck has always been my problem, any time I turn my head quickly I pull something. There's a definite improvement in the way it feels now so I NEED to keep doing these exercises.

More weeding---heavy grass that I can hardly pull out. So more aches ! Still getting rid of some smaller stuff, but there is a long way to go. My storage areas aren't great either. I just don't want to leave all of this backlog for my kids to handle. Still glad you started this thread. It has motivated me a lot.
