I have really liked Peter Walsh since he was on the show Clean Sweep years ago. He has a new book "Lose the clutter, lose the weight: the six week total life slim down" He explored this clutter obesity connection in his older book "Does this clutter make my butt look fat?" He is going to be on some tv shows and it will be interesting to see what he sayS. he was on the Today show in the US may 20, I could not watch, but maybe I can see it online later. His website is www.peterwalshdesigns.com but his Facebook is updated more frequently www.Facebook.com/PeterWalshI have always liked his approach because he is very clear and direct, and he has a counseling background so he can stop and help people process feelings during decluttering as well.

Thank you for this info. I know I've read one of his books...

Interesting concept - clutter and weight. Much like our theory on the financial support thread that there is a connection between clutter and financial problems. The ks for sharing this.

SPOILER ALERT_ Don't read any further if you plan to buy this book. OTOH, if you want a brief summary, read on:
I bought his book on my Kindle, basically read the first half of it. He spends a lot of time putting down our excessive consumption of food and acquiring of possessions. Then he gives some case-studies of people he has helped. The later part of the book is the actual six-week "plan", which is basically decluttering /cleaning one room a week. Nothing earth-shattering here. But, think about it, if you are actively clearing your clutter you are not eating a lot. I take my inspiration from anywhere I can get it! A Good Read-I'll get back to it.

I stopped at the library and borrowed his older book. When I first saw him on TV I didn't like him very much but my perception of him changed over time. I certainly have gained far to much weight in the past few years and am the heaviest I've ever been so maybe this book will help me get rid of excess stuff and excess weight.
