I'm reviving this thread because I really need it right now. I'm making a lot of progress but there are several little things that I keep putting off week after week--they aren't even major things but for some reason I think of them and my mind closes down. I will try to think of something every week that I've been procrastinating about and get it done before the end of Saturday. My rule is that I have to have been putting it off for at least a week for it to count. I've been thinking that I need this thread again because every day I look up at my many wall calendars and see April staring me in the face. Well, today I changed all the calendars to May, only 3 weeks late! So that's this week's item, although I'll see if I can find another to do this week since that one was so easy. Anybody else want to join in? Diane

OMG, yes! I will join you. What a great idea. I will go find a procrasination problem and report back. I have many and this has been a big problem for me lately. Great job on changing the calendars!

Decided to finish up the stuff that needs to be washed in the tub. First i put away the stuff i washed last week and tossed out four broken plastic bins. Washed 8 cat food placemats, 1 small wastebasket, cookie sheet and two cooling racks (food encrusted!), a dish basin, an ipad cover and a crisper drawer from frig. My paint palettes are now soaking in the dish basin. Ill do some hand washing in tub next. Theres alot of that.

Did half of the handwashing, its now drying outside on the big drying rack. The rack is full so until stuff dries, i cant do anymore.

Unswamping...this would be a perfect weekend to wash the sweaters and winter clothes and get them put away. THanks for the idea!

Haven't made the trek to the scary basement but I did get rid of that huge pile of papers over there, filed/shredded, the papers left over from the back tax adventure and receipts for next year. More to do but that was the worst pile and it was on the floor where it couldn't have been any more dangerous or in the way unless it had been in front of the kitchen sink.

Oh yay, I'm so happy to see people joining in! Swamped, so these were things in your bathtub? Do you have a second bathroom or were you showering around them? Ohblondie, I've only been able to wash and put away the heaviest winter stuff--we had a couple of days this past week in the mid-40s, so I'm still using my sweatshirts and light gloves. Sparkle--avoidance productivity is better than nothing, right? As long as you clean something, it counts! I realized what my other item for this week has to be--I have been putting off writing out the invoice for my main client, it has been exactly a week (close enough to "over one week") and now I remembered I really need that money in my account because my annual condo insurance bill is due next week! So I have to make that invoice no later than tomorrow, get the check from her by Monday and get it to the bank. I will at least start it today. It takes a while because I do it in chart form on the computer so she can read it easily and understand what I'm charging her for. So I started this thread just in time! Diane

Ok. Here are three easy things I've been putting off for weeks. Don't ask me why. I really don't know.
1. Find my Kindle and the charger and get it charged up. 2. Plug in the power strip under the bed, and plug the nightstand lamp into it. I have been finding my way to my bed with a flashlight for the last few months. 3. Change the light bulbs in the bathroom overhead light. I've only had the vanity/over the mirror lights for a while now.
If I finish these, maybe I will look for something harder...

dtesposito i just have one bathroom. I dont actually put this stuff in the tub until im ready to wash it. I stack it on the floor in front of the washer and dryer. The clothes to handwash have their own full size hamper. Ill start washing winter stuff when i finish last summers handwashing. Yes, my procrasination is that bad. I just checked the clothes and they are still damp. In the mean time, i will wash the wok that has been sitting in the kitchen waiting to be washed. Ill do it in the tub since it doesn't fit in the sink. Why couldnt they put in one big sink instead of two teeny sinks in the kitchen? sparkle WTG on tackling that huge pile of paper, to me that is scarier than my old basement. Did you see the "basement bully" thread? Is there someway we can help you with the basement?

Goldfinch, the not plugging the lamp into the outlet sounds like something I would do, if it entailed fishing around under the bed for the outlet or the power strip. We make things like that seem so hard when they sometimes just take a minute or two. Swamped, for some reason it sounded like you had your bathtub full of things to clean for a while! I'm glad you were still taking showers! I did not start the invoice yet. Which means I'm leaving it until tomorrow morning.....see why I need a procrastination thread? Tomorrow still works, as long as I get the check by Monday. Diane

Our calender still says November 2014 - I sit on the couch and look at it everyday.
I am going to get up right now and throw it away!

Razy that's funny, yours is older than mine. I actually have a planner calendar at my desk that has my pet care schedule on it, and I look at it several times a day, so that's the one I use as a calendar. The ones on my wall are my decorations--I don't have any art on my walls, so I buy half price calendars with beautiful pictures so that I can see something nice as the months change. So I don't need to see the correct month for utilitarian purposes, but it's nice to see the changing scenes. Now I only have a week to appreciate May's offerings and it'll be time to turn to June. There are times I'll leave a month up longer on purpose if it's a picture I love. But usually it's procrastination. Diane

This one didn't even have a pretty picture dtesposito, just 1 picture, rip off the months as they pass - in theory Throwing out the calendar had a flow on effect. The calendar was in one of those areas where I had stopped seeing the mess and the dust and dirt as evidenced by the well out of date calendar. So when I took the calendar down I looked at the shelf under it and threw away some stuff that had accumulated there then dusted a embarrassingly thick layer of dust off things. Great thread
