two or three weeks ago, my favorite black/brown reversible belt broke. There are two tiny screws holding the buckle to the leather, one fell completely out, and the other was tilted, out of true with the screwhole. So the buckle was stuck on the tilted screw and hanging half off the leather.
Before work today, found tiny screwdriver set, mended belt. Yay!!!

Mouseanne, I love that you're continuing to "anti-procrastinate", and to post here! I looked back to see where I am, and I see that I planned to get rid of the pile of branches in the compost area the week of June 29th. I did do that, and for the first week of July I'm going to count the fact that I emptied a trunk in my DR of stuff I've been moving around with me for about 25 years!! It's almost all gone out to garbage or recycling, I just kept a few things. That means I have to do something for last week, and this week. I will work on this this afternoon when I get back from paid jobs. Diane

I've been putting off going through unopened mail for years now and stuff finally filled a compactor bag that stuck out like a sore thumb. I never threw anything away, somehow thinking that if i needed it I had it and knew where it was (like I could have put my hands on it. Not.) and that something important hadn't been accidentally tossed. No way did that ever happen. I never once looked through the bag or needed anything that was in it.
I bought a shredder this year, one of my best investments ever. I've shredded papers off and on for two days now and ended up with very little to file out of a ton to shred. I've got 4 office wastebasket bags full of itsy bitsy confetti (I didn't scatter a single piece when I was bagging it up. yay.). For the most part it's done. At least the bag has been emptied. Next will be the piles around the house, especially the dining room table and bookshelves. I'm going to take a shredding break before I tackle that, though. It's time to shift back to roofing and repairs.
I don't know where I got the gumption . It must be this thread.

Ive been putting off finding a long stick with something on the end so I could reach the cobwebs in the airlock. Found it. Did it. Changed out the DustBuster filter and washed the old one. I was pleased to find the spare right where I thought it was. Two little things. It feels awfully good now that they're done. I'm going to combine this thread with 'what can I do to make tomorrow easier' since they complement each other.

So, dd is pregnant, due 8-18. AR/AP Admin in a professional office, so I planned to make her a couple of maternity skirts. She never provided size & needed length. Sigh, I HAD bought fabric & a pattern.
June 19, she sent me a pic of a robe, would I make two, a pregnant one & a non-pregnant one.
Um, no, I will make one, then take in the sides. I live in Smalltown, America. NO fabric store. I checked my patterns. Two robes. Both drop shoulder. The pic she sent was set in sleeve. I ordered fabric & laundered it.
This past Wednesday, she is already dialated to 2. Friday's sono has the baby a low-ball estimate of 8-1/2#.
Um, running out of town on the robe. I look at my fabric. Look at pattern. O NO. seriously underordered fabric, by 1-1/2 yds.
Sat afternoon, I dig thru patterns, find a loose fit fitted sleeve shirt pattern in DD's size, get out the robe patterns, draw new front, back, and sleeve robe pattern pieces for set in sleeves. I scrunch as much as possible out of the fabric, making robe as long as possible, and as full as possible on front tummy for baby bump. I just had bitty scraps left, long & stringy. Only thing couldn't get out of main fabric, was the long strip that goes along the front edge hem-to-hem and around the back of the neck. Her selected fabric was a brown/copper and white lacy floral on black background. I cut the strip out of solid black.
Sunday afternoon, I got the robe made. DD is 5'9", I am 6'1". The robe is several inches below my knees, looks like it might be around ankle length on DD, so plenty long. The sleeves might be a little full. Are more kimono-style than the pic she sent me. She's busty, so I put in a dart tuck, but didn't sew to the tip for a real dart. That way, the fabric is there, where ever the girls are at.
No house desqualoring, but a big anti-procrastination!

I just love reading this thread!
Seekingpeace, good work on the pile of paper.
Sparkle, you are unstoppable at the moment, I'm so happy that things are going so well for you!
Mouseanne, I know nothing about sewing and didn't even understand the sewing descriptions you used, but I admire your being able to improvise a garment like that--and I hope your daughter has time to wear it!
I'm having trouble keeping track of the weeks here! I'm going to write them on my calendar so I remember what I still have to do. I did a major procrastination item over the weekend, I caught up all my income records for tax purposes, and also entered all my receipts into Quicken. So that counts for one week, I still have last week and this week. I know one project I want to do is reposition the screen in the bedroom window which has been loose for a couple of years now, but I'm going to need to move the stuff in front of the window, and there isn't a lot of room to maneuver, so it's a big project. Maybe I'll do that this week. I also have the window locks to screw onto the window frame--that actually won't take too long, but does require finding a long extension cord for my drill.
I'll see what I can get done this week!

Mouseanne, I have only ever been able to sew from a pattern. What a gift!! The black will look good with her color choices! I'm so glad that you were able to find a solution to that much missing fabric. Great improvising!! What a lovely present for your daughter for such a blessed event!!
dtesposito, weeks are flying by for me too. Great job on your accomplishments! It's not always the time it takes, because the light switch thing only took about 15 minutes including cleaning the brushes, then not even 5 to put the plate back up. I procrastinate on the silliest of things.
I did finally get the little bit painted around the light switch and as of yesterday, the light switch is back on the wall.

I procrastinate on the silliest of things.
Yes, me too. Then after I do them I think--WHY didn't I do that 2 months ago since it didn't take much time at all.
I thought of another thing I've been putting off too long--sending a note card to some clients that moved out of town a couple of years ago. We've stayed in touch, and they're the kindest, sweetest elderly couple I've ever met--they were wonderful to me, and I've been saying I owe them a note for a couple of months now. I need to write that note!

K, I can't look back at prior posts on phone. Someone did tax work, great job! 1rarebeautifuldove, well, I did sew from a pattern. All I did was combine the robe pattern elements with the shoulder and armhole elements of the shirt, drawing onto new tissue. DD needs it for hospital delivery to suppliment their skimpy gowns. dtesposito, a set in sleeve starts at where your shoulder bends into your upper arm. Imagine a fitted blouse or man's shirt. A drop sleeve starts way lower, down on the arm. It's a very slouchy look, think of a camp shirt or a (smaller) wife hanging around the house in her hubby's pajama top.

Mouseanne, I know what a man's shirt and a pajama top looks like, but I have no idea what a camp shirt is and am not even sure I know what a fitted blouse looks like!! And although I know what a dart is I don't know what a dart tuck is. Can you tell that clothing is low on my list of priorities?? I think I know what you mean about the sleeves, though. Diane

See how far down on the upper arm the sleeve starts: Dropped Shoulder topBut, here, the top of the sleeve is at the bend from shoulder to arm: Fitted BlouseOver lunch, dropped 3 bags & a fairly big box, dontated to 2nd hand store/resale shop. Items already logged in my fling/flang thread and added to my zero degrees.
