Took shower, wiped down tiles and tub afterwards, shredded some papers, took them and other papers to the outside can, went to the grocery store, put stuff away, had lunch (the same as breakfast ). Next: basic digital decluttering.

Yesterday I wound up taking a major nap to catch up on my sleep so I didn't get much done but it's a new day and I feel pretty rested.
All the critters have been fed and their dishes washed. I'm having another cup of coffee and then it's off to get myself clean and dressed to shoes.

Good Morning Everyone! It did NOT want to drag myself out of bed today.....had a late meeting last night. Am I the only one in the whole community that gets up early (and therefore has to go to bed early?) I know I am hanging with a new group of people with all of these committees and group I am involved with. Yowza = I need to find the group that turns in early..... Last night I got dishes washed and the dishwasher run. I had been having problems witht eh dishwasher but I did not check to see how the dishes came out yet. I cleared off a corner of the island. Went through several piles of mail and tossed A LOT!! THere is also a huge pile ready to be shredded. When our local radio shack was closing - I ourchased one of those fitness bracelets at 80% off. I had managed to msplace it - but during the cleanup I found it - along with my new debit card that had disappeared. I am charging it now - and will start wearing it again. IT measures my steps and how well I sleep at night, etc. I picked up my car - he took $30 off because I paid in cash. He said I have a great little reliable car. It is 10 yrs old and has 50k miles. I need two more things done but I can space them out over the next two months. Today I MUST book my flight!! And pay my august bills. I usually pay them all during the first week of the month but I will be away. So early I will be. Tonight I must attack my room - I have an interview tomorrow and I need my black sweater! OK I am getting down to work here. I am looking forward to everyone joining in. I see that calypso and flotsam are here already and it won;t be long til dtesposito joins us. It is going to be a scorcher here in NYS - stay cool everyone!

Good Morning all! Yes, I am finally joining in, I slept late today--I seem to be in a pattern of one day early and the next late--which is still better than every day late. I remembered parts of two dreams this morning, which is one advantage of sleeping late--that's the only time I remember anything.
Another hot day here too, but they say the humidity will drop later in the day--I wonder if it will even be detectable. I often wonder why I even pay attention to the weather report, the other day I tried to see what the temperature was, I looked at three different internet sites and the current temperature varied by about 8 degrees depending on which one I looked at.
Okay, I only have one and a half hours before my mid-day work, I'm going to put the last of the book project away and PEEP for that time.
Flotsam, this particular book project was trying to neaten up and reduce the books on a particular table--the ones I think I want to read next. As time goes on I see more and more books I want to read next, so I add them to the table until the stacks are ready to fall over--so then I go through and purge back down to stacks that won't fall over. I had no idea this would take so long--but now I know which books are next in series, which books I still need in the series, and I put several away in another place. I think I only completely got rid of 3 books, but considering these originally were "read next" books, I guess that's good. My hallway looks a lot neater now, and I'm not afraid of an avalanche of books falling on a cat drinking water right below! Oh, and I started a stack of Christmas books to read this November and December.
Off to PEEP!

Clean and dressed to shoes. After getting dress I once again spent too much time trying to figure out what the future holds for me financially. I wish I could stop going over the same old issue again and again but a major issue like this is hard to not keep revisiting, wondering when we will hear, how bad the cuts will be, etc.
Too damp to mow but the cool, overcast morning was perfect to spend an weeding after I finished patrol. Then I spend a little time going through one more small box of paper that I'd brought in from the garage. Turned out to be 99% toss stuff, guess I'd sorted it several years ago but did not get it as far as the burn pile.
PEEPing in the living room and dining room. Decided to get rid of another round of everyday dishes and a couple more kitchen things, they are boxed up to go to the donation center. Moved some dishes out of the china cabinet and in to the kitchen cabinets so that I'll use them often.
One load of dog laundry washed, dried and put away.

tnmimi I hope you have had your coffee by now! dtesposito Sometimes when it is hot - one or two degrees difference is not even noticiable. Hot and humid is hot and humid! And it is hot and humid here today! calypso so sorry you are under this stress. I am glad is it not paralyzing you and keeping you from getting it done at home! I am on a quick lunch break. I went out to my car - what a mistake! A few more minutes perusing the boards then back at it. I STILL need to book my flight! I did get my activity bracelet thing charged and on my wrist.

Ohblondie, BOOK YOUR FLIGHT! Calypso, I so relate to your discomfort about money. That's why I had to catch up on the records, because when I don't know where I am the anxiety builds and is always there in the back of my mind. Do you have no idea how long it'll take to hear about the cuts? It sure is yucky out there right now--if I stand perfectly still in the shade and wait for the tiny breezes to come by it's tolerable, but the minute I take a step I start sweating. It was cloudy when I left the house so I didn't put on sunscreen and of course, two minutes later the sun came out in full force. I'm home, I'm going to eat lunch and then I'll get going. Diane

Diane There are about 25,000 covered members of my plan. Of those about 20,000 are already retired and only 5,000 still in the work force. They expect it will be close to the end of the year before they have it figured out. So I have another 4 to 5 months of trying to live very frugally in order to put as much in savings as possible. I just read that there will not be any COLA for Social Security in 2016. I think that what I will have saved by year end would be enough to supplement my remaining income for 5 or 6 years - baring any extraordinary expenses like a new vehicle or roof) if the cuts are to the max. That would give me time to sell this place and buy something much smaller which might be just what I need by the time I'm in my early 70's.

I did the digital decluttering, did the dishes, had supper and culled papers—like every day. Nothing special today as far as I remember. ohblondie, have you booked your flight?

I have one half of a shelf reserved for library books. Could you do something similar with the books you want to read next?Well, all my shelves are full, so I would have to take books off a shelf and put them somewhere else to clear a space, which defeats the purpose. Plus, the number varies, so it works better to have an open place. Of course, then I make the piles too high, and have to cull, like I just did. The cabinet holds 4 piles--one is the books I'm reading now, including library books (I read several books at one time, many are nonfiction that are more difficult subjects so I can only absorb a little at a time, or they are books that are meant to be read in pieces, like short stories or essay type books. 2 other piles are fiction and nonfiction that are next to be read, and the fourth pile is one that is of series books--they have a sticky note on them either telling me this is the next one in the series, or that they're #3 in the series but I need #2 next, etc. I recently started using that pile also for books that are series books but I'm trying to decide if I even want to read the series in the first place, now that I'm trying to get rid of more books. So it might say "this is book #1, try and see if I want to continue." Yes, my book life is very complicated. Calypso, that actually sounds better, even in the worst case scenario you at least have some time. Very unsettling though. I wonder if your uneven moods will get better once you finally have that information and can make plans. Sometimes not knowing is the worst thing and it clogs up your forward progress. I ended up having to take a really long time to recover from being outside--then I got a long call from my decluttering client. Now it's late and I haven't done much today. It really is annoying to lose 2-3 hours a day recovering from the heat. I'm going to make some lists so I can give myself a push: Clean up food stuff in the kitchen Brush teeth PEEP in SP and LR Look through mid-week sale papers Start a list for tomorrow Diane

Well, first I got interrupted by a neighbor in the building who blew a circuit breaker today--her husband is out of town and she had no idea where the box was. So I went and helped her.
Then my sister called and talked and talked. And wanted me to order some things for her online. So that phone call went on forever.
Now I have to quickly eat something and work a little more before bedtime.

Hi Serendipity, I see you're up to 20 now! Hopefully each time your kitchen will get a little less messed up and you'll clean it up a little sooner. I did a little straightening up and now will get ready for bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be more productive than today was for me. Diane
