This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM!

Sorry guys! I copied and pasted Madtiger's "working in threes" but none of the colors, etc, copied over, so you have this bland version today! Ta das! Feed dog and cat; walk dog Got coffee at Dunkin Donuts Put trash and recycling to the curb; 1 bag of weekly trash/garbage; 6 bags of desqualoring trash (last of the bags from the marathon clean up when I had plumbers here. I had stashed the bags out of sight, and kind of forgot about them. I've been putting out a few a week for the past few weeks, and now they are all gone!) To Dos: Go to therapist with daughter to figure out strategies to deal with her dad's actions regarding no longer having access to the house/his hoard (my divorce was final last week) Go to work Change the locks on the front and back doors.

Morning. 'new' dryer died. back to bagging laundry and going to laundromat. TADAs woke up. (pretty big deal today) kiddos to school (son wore dirty jeans...sigh) animals fed meds taken TODOs box up an ebay item for shipping, ship maintain my kitchen wash and bag another load

TADAs boxed up the item and will drop it off on way to appt. 1 more bag ready, 1 load washing kitchen will have to wait till I get home.

That didn't work so well. I ended up taking a nap and woke up feeling lousy. Ta dah * nap * lunch * washed dishes To do * get going on that list!

I'm going to try to avoid the urge to take a nap myself, and try to get some basic maintenance stuff done. To do: unload dishwasher reload dishwasher start load of laundry

Got up. Got kid to school who really wanted to stay home. Ugh. Showered and put make up on.

Ta dah * Gathered unused medical supplies and boxed them up to be donated (Bonus: Neatened drawer while I was at it) * Got info for item that needs to be returned, boxed it up, it's ready to go * Got info for another item that needs to be fixed, boxed it up. Still waiting for them to send me the paid address sticker * Shredded some documents (which I used to pack the boxes)
To do * Not sure if I should go to exercise class or not since I'm feeling lousy. Maybe I'll feel better; maybe worse. I've got a lot of things I have to do afterward.

Hello again, finished my todos from earlier. Went to Dr. Schedule right hip replacement for after the holidays. It's something I probably should have tended to long ago. Left hip was replace in '95. New ToDos prepare dinner clean up kitchen after eliminate some more mags and paper--will keep a count walk dog, who refused afternoon walk with BH. This tends to happen if I'm not home Bye for now!

It's 8 pm. It's been a long day.
Done: 1. Worked all day. 2. Had four meetings, and an unexpected fifth one at the end of the day. 3. Drove home. Drove to store. Realized I had left my purse at work. Drove back to work. Drove back to store. Bought groceries. Comedy of errors, and all this on a twisted ankle (thank you cats for the morning water spillage).
Done: 1. Washed dishes. 2. Wiped counter. 3. Lit candle.
Stressed stressed stressed.
To Do: 1, 2, 3. Remove everything in the kitchen that does not belong, even it means putting things into the spare bedroom/dining room of clutter.
