Thank you Arid. It was so good to get away, no matter how short. It's been forever - like 15-20 years! I didn't get a lot of yesterday's plans done, so will be carrying over. I need to get back into routine. I've created a bit of a mess unpacking. I need to get back to my exercising too. I did some walking while away - max day was 3 miles. It's going to still be very hot the next several days. I emptied 7 litres of water this AM, drained from my bedroom a/c. I didn't realize that it was still that humid in here. LR thermometer says 79 despite running ac in there since I got home. Plans for today: ME: Weigh and record Exercise: - walk - mile 1 - walk - mile 2 - something else Shower, dress, makeup Log meals into MyFitnessPal Read Bible Paint fingernails Log in meals into MFP for July 18, 19, and 20 Log calories etc in my bullet journal for July 18 19 and 20 DAILY: Circle tour (tidy) Catch up dishes Wipe down kitchen counters, sink, stove top Make bed Empty drainage pail from ac unit Bird care Bathroom swish and swipe Toss garbage Declutter some emails FRIDAY'S TASK (Should be groceries, but I don't think I will go out. Still plenty of food here.) ADD: Got groceries CATCH UP: - finish putting away unpacked stuff - assess if I need to do any laundry yes - prepare 'thank you' for bird sitter - meet with bird sitter - clean bird cage - quick dust through - vac LR, especially around bird cage - bring up items I left in car , in locker - return insulated bags to car - catch up bill-paying - pay on-line, record in Quicken, in budget book, file CHALLENGE FOR WEEK: Undecided as yet (and week is almost over) Re CHALLENGE: Switch out contents of LR coat closet (coats, jackets, cardigans, shoes, purses) with contents of spare room closet (bird supplies, small cage) since birds and cage are now in LR in front of coat closet, making it difficult to assess the stuff I need. ADD: Laundry: 2 loads - wash - dry - put away ***************************** D came up in the afternoon and returned key, I gave him 'thank you' stuff. A bit later he came back to tell me that his wife was doing laundry and there were several empty machines - so I managed to get 2 loads done. Meanwhile they said that their cable box had broken and they were told they had to bring it back to the store which is in a mall in another part of the city. He planned to go next AM - by bus (or buses) since they don't have a car. He is very ill, and now has lung cancer as well, but after heart doc and cancer doc spoke, they are going ahead with some lung surgery next Wed. Because of this, I offered, via the wife, to drive them to the cable place - and I could get my groceries at a store across the street while they did that - then he could watch his TV, and not have to go out in this extreme heat. Later I suggested we do it Fri PM instead of Sat., so that is what he and I did. I dropped him off at the closest door, got my groceries, (mostly fresh fruit and veggies and some frozen pasta dinners) and he was finished a few minutes after I got back. And the temps were better in the evening, so that was good. So 2 unexpected chores done - laundry and groceries, plus I did my weekly challenge of switching the closets around.

Things seem to be working out well with the birds in the LR now. They seem happier, they are where it is cooler, and the only problem was that their cage is in front of the coat closet, so accessing my stuff in there was difficult, which got remedied yesterday by switching out the contents of it with the contents of the spare room closet - bird supplies.
This then took on a whole different perspective with my cleaning routines. I have had my paperwork stuff mostly stored in the old 'bird room' but often hampered doing stuff with it because of the birds' hours plus my fear of them being too noisy when I was in there. But now, with them in the LR, I can pretty much have free reign in that room again - and that changes how my weekly and deep cleaning routines go.
I basically have 5 'room' areas, which I can now match with 5 zones. Each zone has it's accompanying storage area, and 'attachments' (example - bedroom is clothes and crafts, spare room is paperwork and books, etc)
I had previously thought of doing a rotation where each room gets handled for a month, every 4 months, with 2 weeks on projects and the remainder on deep cleaning. But some deep cleaning needs to be done more often than every 4 months. So I have gone back to the zone idea, where I will work in each zone 1 week a month. And I think I will alternate the months, so that 1 month is deep cleaning, and the next projects related to that area.
So right now, my plans look like this:
Monday - Bathroom, linen closet, broom closet, Car (Zone 1)
Tuesday - Bedroom, Wash linens, (clothes, crafts, Me) (Zone 2)
Wednesday - Spare room, pay bills (papers, books, tapes, knickknacks) (Zone 3)
Thursday - LR, coat closet, balcony, locker (birds) Wash clothes (Zone 4)
Friday - Groceries, errands, Clear out fridge
Saturday - Kitchen, DR, storage closet, Cook (dishes, pantry items, cooking utensils) (Zone 5)
Sunday - Mega Tidy through, Plant care

Yesterday I did some unplanned things, like laundry and groceries, which actually gets me a bit ahead of where I was, so today I can stay home and basically finish up started things. And catch up a bit on some weekly stuff since things got missed while I was gone. (Not imperative, but would be good since some wont be gotten to again for almost a week.) With the new routines stated above, today is cleaning the kitchen and DR day, and cooking. I need things cooked anyway since I have nothing prepared since coming home Thurs. I'm going to call today a 'finish up' day - finish up unpacking, laundry, groceries, closet switch. Not a lot, but 'erase the evidence' mostly. Then tomorrow starts a new zone area. Also re my 'diet' etc., while away I went over on calories most days. My only exercise was normal walking, nothing extra. My weight is 'up' but less than a pound, so hopefully back to normal soon. But I really need to get back into exercising routinely. This will be hampered by the extreme heat we are having this week, but I really need to make the effort and get back in the habit. Plans for today: ME: Weigh and record Exercise: - walk - mile 1 - walk - mile 2 my back ended up too sore to do more - something else Shower, dress, makeup Log meals into MyFitnessPal Read Bible Paint fingernails Log calories etc in my bullet journal for July 18 19 and 20 DAILY: Circle tour (tidy) Catch up dishes Wipe down kitchen counters, sink, stove top Make bed Empty drainage pail from ac unit Bird care Bathroom swish and swipe Toss garbage Declutter some emails SATURDAY'S TASK Kitchen, DR - put away everything out - catch up dishes - scrub stove top, counters, sink - clean microwave - clean grill - dust DR, kitchen desk - vac - mop kitchen Cook did not feel well, stomach issues, didn't feel like eating - boil some eggs? - cook up a bean dish - which starch - in bean dish or separate? - clean up cooking dishes Water plants all but geraniums - everything else looked wilted FINISH UP: - finish putting away bags from being away - finish putting away laundry (underwear mostly) - finish putting away (find homes for) items from closet switch - quick dust through - vac LR, especially around bird cage - bring up items I left in locker while away - put away - catch up bill-paying - pay on-line, record in Quicken, in budget book, file - vac back of apt - bedroom, spare room, bathroom, hall CHALLENGE FOR WEEK: Switching LR coat closet contents with contents of spare room closet: Finish up: - find homes for caps, basket with clutches - arrange shoes and hanging shoe bags better - arrange spare room closet better ***************************** I decided to do a quick clean through, and I started at the back of the apt, about 15 minutes per room, some more. As I cleaned I moved stuff to its new location etc. I did 'me' first of all, then the bathroom, bedroom, spare room, hall and entrance. Between this I would clean 1 part of the kitchen. Initially I had stomach issues which slowed me down. And I didn't cook anything because I didn't feel like eating it. By the time that I got to the LR, and finishing up the kitchen, my back ached. It didn't go away. I pushed it enough to clean up bits of petals from the bougainvillea that had dropped and as I tried to move it, more fell all over, and then vac'd that area and replaced the mats. My back still hurts now - next AM. I think this is a very good indicator that I need to only do these things in small steps. As in a room a day, not all of them. I didn't get in my 2nd mile of exercise either because of this. Also several things gravitated to my bedroom - things to sort between the 2 closets - caps, purses and clutches, and shoes. I'm thinking of separating the 2 closets by degree of formality.

Thank you Arid. I hope it made their lives a bit easier. Sunday July 25/ 16 My back is still hurting some, and I will have to see how my stomach goes. I had no problems while away. Thankfully! Today, Sunday, should be a quieter day. I normally like to just do a bit of puttering on the balcony (after the sun/ heat passes) and finish tidying through. I did a really good, although quick, clean on the apt yesterday, and now I can get back to normal - most things are caught up. But on today's list I will still have the things I didn't get to yesterday. Plans for today: ME: Weigh and record Exercise: - walk - mile 1 - walk - mile 2 - too hot!!! - something else Shower, dress, makeup Log meals into MyFitnessPal Read Bible Paint fingernails DAILY: Circle tour (tidy) Catch up dishes Wipe down kitchen counters, sink, stove top Make bed Empty drainage pail from ac unit Bird care Vac around bird cage Bathroom swish and swipe Toss garbage Declutter some emails SUNDAY'S TASKS: Balcony - deadhead plants, turn them - brush off furniture - sweep - wipe down tables - compost to outside bins Mega- Tidy - go through and put away anything out of place LEFT FROM SATURDAY'S TASKS: Kitchen, DR - vac - mop kitchen ADD: vac LR area rug Cook - boil some eggs? or make mini-quiches - cook up a bean dish - which starch - in bean dish or separate? - clean up cooking dishes Water geraniums and anything else looking wilty FINISH UP: - finish putting away (find homes for) items from closet switch - bring up items I left in locker while away - put away - catch up bill-paying - pay on-line, record in Quicken, in budget book, file CHALLENGE FOR WEEK: Switching LR coat closet contents with contents of spare room closet: Finish up: - find homes for caps, basket with clutches - arrange shoes and hanging shoe bags better - arrange spare room closet better

Yesterday my friend B texted me asking if today might be good to drop by - her only day off. In reality my apt looks great, so I said Okay. Since I bought groceries Fri PM, I have food available if we want to eat. And I had frozen up a few extra muffins when I made them pre-vacation - so I am good to go. Normal 'new'? routine for Mondays is Bathroom and Paperwork. I can easily do these today. It's supposed to be another stiflingly hot day today with humidex over 100. But currently it is raining, with some lightening. We need the rain so badly - but I fear when its done, the humidity won't be gone. We'll see. Plans for today: ME: Weigh and record Exercise: - walk - mile 1 - walk - mile 2 - something else Shower, dress, makeup Log meals into MyFitnessPal Read Bible Paint fingernails DAILY: Circle tour (tidy) Catch up dishes Wipe down kitchen counters, sink, stove top Make bed Empty drainage pail from ac unit 8 litres! Bird care Vac around bird cage Bathroom swish and swipe Toss garbage Declutter some emails MONDAY'S TASKS: Bathroom, linen closet, broom closet - scrub sink, counter - scrub tub - scrub toilet - windex mirror - vac floor - wash floor - change towels - restock Paperwork - download bill - pay bills - update Quicken - update Budget book - file bills - sort, toss accumulated papers in LR Water plants Clean bird cage LEFT FROM SUNDAY - compost to outside bins LEFT FROM SATURDAY Cook something? FINISH UP: - bring up items I left in locker while away - put away CHALLENGE FOR WEEK: Switching LR coat closet contents with contents of spare room closet: Organizing bedroom and spare room closets by 'formality' of items - sort out closet shelves for better storage of items - find homes for caps, basket with clutches - move clothes by formality into closets - tops - cardigans - jackets - bottoms - arrange clothes by colour families ************************* B came over. Came later than she normally does, without warning so I kind of wasted a lot of time just waiting, and not wanting to create a mess doing anything more. We had talked about a walk, but with the extreme heat this week and the thunderstorms in the AM, and then just chatting we almost forgot about it. Then I suggested to just walk together around here, so we put in a bit more than a mile before I took her home. Later I used a YouTube video to make up to my 2 mile point. Once I got back home, my energy had fizzed out and I didn't do anything more. I sat out on the balcony for a bit in the evening, reading - I need to do that more. Day time can be too hot. I have noticed that on a couple of occasions most of the things on my balcony seem a bit wilty and at present I have 3 tomatoes, still green, on 1 plant, and nothing else. My morning glories are really doing well climbing up the netting I put up - but no blooms yet - I don't know if this is normal or not. My sunshine impatiens get wilty quickly, and my bougainvillea has lost most of its blooms. However my little geraniums are doing wonderfully! They are all blooming, don't wilt, and are very colourful. Makes me wonder if I should maybe just concentrate on them and not worry about anything else in future! Watering can take up a fair chunk of my evening - I decided to split it up and not do it all at once - half one night, half the next. That way I can also get a bit more relaxing time outside. Unfortunately, most of today's tasks will need to be put over to Tuesday. But then again, that is why I do a little every day, so that days when something else comes up I can say yes and not have a big back log.

I know my lists always look long. A good portion is my daily stuff, for me and the house, which recur daily. So I decided to add in 2 divisions (~~~~~~~~~) The next part is my weekly chore for that day, with some catchup things I need to do, because other things (life) happened in between. These should change daily. And the last portion is my goal for the week, which should change weekly. This might help me visualize my own progress rather than seeing my lists always staying the same length day in and day out no matter how long I worked on them. Today is my day to work in the bedroom. Since I continue to work on the closets, I will concentrate on the bedroom closet today. I some how managed to create little messes in each room yesterday, so I will have to get those out of the way first, during my circle tour. And today I should wash my linens. Plans for today: ME: Weigh and record Exercise: - walk - mile 1 - walk - mile 2 - something else total body cardio Shower, dress, makeup Log meals into MyFitnessPal Read Bible Time reading outside Paint fingernails DAILY: Circle tour (tidy) Catch up dishes Wipe down kitchen counters, sink, stove top Make bed fresh sheets Empty drainage pail from ac unit Bird care Vac around bird cage Bathroom swish and swipe Toss garbage Declutter some emails Water plants (half each day) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TUESDAY'S TASKS BEDROOM and CLOSET - strip bed - tidy - windex - dust - vac - remake bed LAUNDRY - sheets - towels - put away LEFT FROM MONDAY: BATHROOM, LINEN CLOSET, BROOM CLOSET - scrub sink, counter - scrub tub - scrub toilet - windex mirror - vac floor - wash floor - change towels - restock PAPERWORK - download bill - pay bills - update Quicken - update Budget book - file bills - sort, toss accumulated papers in LR Clean bird cage LEFT FROM SUNDAY - compost to outside bins LEFT FROM SATURDAY Cook something? vegetarian chili FINISH UP: - bring up items I left in locker while away - put away ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CHALLENGE FOR WEEK: Switching LR coat closet contents with contents of spare room closet: Organizing bedroom and spare room closets by 'formality' of items - sort out closet shelves for better storage of items - find homes for caps, basket with clutches - move clothes by formality into closets - tops - cardigans - jackets - bottoms - arrange clothes by colour families

Yesterday was a pretty good day. I managed to get caught up on most things. I didn't get to paperwork - however I decided to switch it to Wednesdays, since that will be the day I clean the spare room, where the paperwork will now 'live'. I also didn't get to my challenge tasks of closet re-organizing - but now I am thinking of maybe doing 1/2 a closet each day (= 4 days). I also didn't do any Bible reading yesterday, so I have to get back to that. Gee, it doesn't sound like the day went so well. The birds are adapting to being in the LR - and I am adapting to them. I had noted that on 2 occasions they screeched a lot when I exercised to Leslie Sansone videos. But for some reason, on 2 occasions, when I used Jessica Smith videos they were fine. I really like her workouts - she incorporates so many extra moves for other body parts in her walking videos, that you know you've had a good workout - but it's also easy on joints etc. Now that I know that, I won't be so fearful of the birds causing disturbances if I exercise early or late. Anyway, on with today: ME: Weigh and record Exercise: - walk - mile 1 - walk - mile 2 - something else Shower, dress, makeup Log meals into MyFitnessPal Read Bible Time reading outside Paint fingernails DAILY: Circle tour (tidy) Catch up dishes Wipe down kitchen counters, sink, stove top Make bed Empty drainage pail from ac unit Bird care Vac around bird cage Bathroom swish and swipe Toss garbage Declutter some emails Water plants (half each day) Did all of the outdoor ones EVERY OTHER DAY: Clean bird cage EXTRA - go to corner store for milk - buy a card ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WEDNESDAY'S TASKS SPARE ROOM - tidy - windex - dust - vac PAPERWORK - download bill - pay bills - update Quicken - update Budget book - file bills - sort, toss accumulated papers in LR LEFT FROM TUESDAY: LAUNDRY - put away 2 loads LEFT FROM SUNDAY - compost to outside bins FINISH UP: - bring up items I left in locker while away - put away - drop off donations ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CHALLENGE FOR WEEK: Switching LR coat closet contents with contents of spare room closet: Organizing bedroom and spare room closets by 'formality' of items Do 1/2 closet each day 1 2 3 4 - sort out closet shelves for better storage of items - find homes for caps, basket with clutches - move clothes by formality into closets - tops - cardigans - jackets - bottoms - arrange clothes by colour families ************************* It seems like I did great the first part of the day, and then I petered out. None of the bill paying got done - again! and none of the project work happened. I did doze off on a couple of occasions. We are still battling this heat, and then predicted rain never came.

I just noticed that it has rained a bit (not enough) in the past hour, and has cooled a bit. Since no breeze comes in my windows I have set up 2 window fans to get the cooler air inside. Today is LR DR and (clothes) laundry day. I don't know if I have enough clothes yet to make a full load. I really need to focus on bill paying today, and getting these closets finally done. I may delay the LR and DR cleaning until those are over. I seem to work well in the AM doing the regular daily stuff, but once I have my brunch, I really lose steam. For today: ME: Weigh and record Exercise: - walk - mile 1 did 1.5 miles - walk - mile 2 - something else the routine had a lot of ab work in it Shower, dress, makeup Log meals into MyFitnessPal Read Bible Time reading outside Paint fingernails DAILY: Circle tour (tidy) Catch up dishes Wipe down kitchen counters, sink, stove top Make bed Empty drainage pail from ac unit Bird care Vac around bird cage Bathroom swish and swipe Toss garbage Declutter some emails EVERY OTHER DAY: Water plants EXTRA - buy a card ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ THURSDAY'S TASKS: LR/ DR - tidy - windex - dust - vac LAUNDRY, CLOTHES - see if there are any full loads - wash - dry - put away FROM WEDNESDAY: PAPERWORK - download bill - pay bills - update Quicken - update Budget book - file bills - sort, toss accumulated papers in LR LEFT FROM SUNDAY - compost to outside bins - need to deadhead plants again first ADD - take down recycling FINISH UP: - bring up items I left in locker while away - put away - drop off donations ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CHALLENGE FOR WEEK: Switching LR coat closet contents with contents of spare room closet: Organizing bedroom and spare room closets by 'formality' of items Do 1/2 closet each day 1 2 3 4 - sort out closet shelves for better storage of items - find homes for caps, basket with clutches - move clothes by formality into closets - tops - cardigans - jackets - bottoms - arrange clothes by colour families

Yesterday I did many of the outstanding chores, but I didn't get to the basic LR and DR cleaning. While looking through paperwork and paying my bills it occurred to me - as it has in the past, that I have enough paperwork to make that an activity for 1 day of the week. Now that the birds are moved out of the spare room, that room is simpler to clean, so it would be easy to combine bedroom and spare room cleaning in 1 day, and then devote a full day to just paperwork. So with that being decided, I only paid the bills and got them in the budget book yesterday, and will do the rest next week - that was the real outstanding stuff done. Later I got the clothes in both closets looked through and moved, and put 'like with like'. However when I came down to further reorganization, it just seems like too much. I can decide on formality, then clothing type, and then go by sleeve length - and then by colour? - it just seemed too much - and putting away in the right spot would be a nightmare. (That was one thought I remember from KonMari - you have to make things easy to put away!!!!) I did more Google research on closet set-ups, and then I had to admit, I have too many t-shirts. Many are fairly new and I like them, and a few are waiting for me to lose these last pounds/ bulges before I can wear them. But I noted that most organizers put their t-shirts in drawers - they don't hang them. And maybe that's my problem. If they were out of my closet, it'd be better. So I am going to try that next - KonMari style - but by then I was too tired to tackle it. I want this closet/ clothes stuff done by the end of July - so 2 more days (including today) to finish it up. Today is my grocery and errand day. I don't have a lot to buy. I still need to finish up the LR /DR from yesterday and see if I need to do any laundry. I also need to figure out this exercising thing. I need to work in toning parts of my body. Jessica has many videos on that, and some are in with her walking exercises. Yesterday I did a great routine, walking and ab work - it was 40 minutes long, and I was pooped. By my pedometer watch it was 1.5 miles as well. I think that instead of trying to do 2 miles and then work in something else, I will do a walk concentrating on alternating upper body and lower body and core work and let the miles look after themselves. Otherwise I'm exercising all day long trying to fit it all in, and then calorie counting on top of it. And she does admit in 1 of her Q & A sessions that often too much exercising makes you hungry and you eat more. I am going to concentrate more on food in calories and not exercise calories. I weigh daily and am now almost in the 129's range all week. I never thought I'd make it past that 130 mark! Anyway, for today: ME: Weigh and record Exercise: - do an upper body routine - tired, decided to make today a rest day Shower, dress, makeup Log meals into MyFitnessPal Read Bible Time reading outside Paint fingernails DAILY: Circle tour (tidy) Catch up dishes Wipe down kitchen counters, sink, stove top Make bed Empty drainage pail from ac unit Bird care Vac around bird cage Bathroom swish and swipe Toss garbage Declutter some emails EVERY OTHER DAY: Water plants - did half ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FRIDAY'S TASKS: GROCERIES AND ERRANDS - write lists - shop - bring upstairs - put away FROM THURSDAY: LR/ DR - tidy - windex - dust - vac LAUNDRY, CLOTHES - see if there are any full loads one - wash - dry - put away FINISH UP: - bring up items I left in locker while away - put away - drop off donations ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CHALLENGE FOR WEEK: Switching LR coat closet contents with contents of spare room closet: Organizing bedroom and spare room closets by 'formality' of items - empty a drawer - fold t-shirts Kon Mari style and put away according to colour - if time, also refold - underwear - socks - pj's - find homes for caps, basket with clutches - arrange clothes remaining in closets by colour families - toss old old duvet that has not been used in years into dumpster in garage having trouble doing this - find home for exercise tapes - find permanent place for ironing board

Saturday July 30/16 Yesterday I did both groceries and errands, and laundry. I have been doing that a lot lately. And then I have trouble getting everything away. And on Sat. AM my house looks quite messy. Not dirty, just very messy - and there are things in every room out of place. I need to stop doing that! I also realized this AM that today is not the last day in July - tomorrow is. I wanted this 'challenge' done by the end of July, because as of Aug 1 I want to go into regular zone work. So I am happy I have 2 days still to complete this. So that is the focus for today - work on this, and tidy through. So my lists today will probably be for 2 days, and then tomorrow just delete what I did today. I noted yesterday that I am having a real problem with tossing my duvet. So far here it's been too hot in the winter to use - but even picking it up yesterday it's so light, and feels so good, that I have trouble tossing. So I am going to keep it, but put it back in the top of the broom closet. I will air it a bit today, hopefully it will be sunny out. And then the space it occupied on the top of my bedroom closet will have these new fabric collapsible cubes to store other larger items in from my drawers, and then maybe my clutches and/or hats. Maybe I can put all of my exercise DVD's in 1 as well. So my list for today: ME: Weigh and record Exercise: walked a mile outside - do an upper body routine 12 min Shower, dress, makeup Log meals into MyFitnessPal Read Bible Time reading outside Paint fingernails DAILY: Circle tour (tidy) Catch up dishes Wipe down kitchen counters, sink, stove top Make bed Empty drainage pail from ac unit Bird care Vac around bird cage Bathroom swish and swipe Toss garbage Declutter some emails EVERY OTHER DAY: Water plants did half ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SATURDAY'S TASKS: TIDY THROUGH: Put away rest of laundry Put away rest of purchases Tidy - kitchen - entrance and hall - DR - LR - bedroom - spare room - bathroom Work on weekly challenge FINISH UP SOMETIME: - bring up items I left in locker while away - put away - drop off donations ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CHALLENGE FOR WEEK: Re-organize/ refold some drawers - fold t-shirts Kon Mari style and put away according to colour - if time, also refold - underwear - socks - pj's - find homes for caps, basket with clutches - arrange clothes remaining in closets by colour families - find home for exercise tapes - find permanent place for ironing board ADD - re-organized shelf of broom closet

Sunday July 31/ 16 - last day of July. A good day to finish up the month, finish up tasks, and prepare for the new month ahead. Earlier this week I was going through some papers and I found ones I had printed off re TDEE. I have been using MFP, but they do not calculate in exercise calories. Initially I was given 1200 calories - which is the lowest they will go for a female. I lost at first, but then for about 6 months I bounced between 133 and 134 pounds, until it finally occurred to me that 1200 calories was now my maintenance - that is why I wasn't losing, and I needed to go lower, and maybe exercise more. I upped my exercise to 2 miles a day - more seems to give me back ache. I wanted to start working on other areas, but doing 2 miles took up a fair chunk of time. MFP does not include the exercise calories, you have to put them in yourself, and then many people eat back about 1/2 of the exercise calories, to account for false calculations. By doing this and I started doing Intermittent Fasting, with an 8 hr eating window, 16 hr fasting, I started losing again. And then I stopped eating meat because I noted I was very bloated every evening after supper - and that bloating has stopped. Last week's wt average was 129.9, so I am 'officially' out of the 130's!!!! Anyway - the papers I found were from IIFYM, and it uses TDEE alone. Many people prefer that method. According to it (now this was calculated at my wt being 132) my TDEE is 1382. That is calculated on me exercising with moderate intensity 30 min a day, 5 days a week. In other words without having to figure out how many calories I burned in every exercise, and then adding it in. If I subtract 250 calories, to lose 1/2 a pound a week, I come to 1132 calories a day, with the basic exercising - so that is where I plan to go this upcoming month. Note it has 5 days of exercising - so 2 days of rest - which I had wanted to do for Sundays, and then grocery day - so today I am not exercising, and I will start the new routine officially tomorrow. It's not that different than the old, except it's timed exercise, and I will use that to help tone up some of my muscles. Jessica Smith has many short timed exercises - I did a 12 minute one last PM for upper body and it was very good. So for today: ME: Weigh and record Exercise 30 min (5 days a wk) - Rest Day walked 15 min Shower, dress, makeup Log meals into MyFitnessPal Read Bible Time reading outside cool, read inside instead Paint fingernails DAILY: Circle tour (tidy) Catch up dishes Wipe down kitchen counters, sink, stove top Make bed Empty drainage pail from ac unit Bird care Vac around bird cage Bathroom swish and swipe Toss garbage Declutter some emails EVERY OTHER DAY: Water plants ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SUNDAY'S TASKS: MEGA TIDY: - kitchen - entrance and hall - DR - LR - bedroom - spare room - bathroom Toss garbage Fertilize plants Plan week END OF MONTH: Prepare bullet journal for August FINISH UP SOMETIME: - bring up items I left in locker while away - put away - drop off donations ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CHALLENGE FOR WEEK: Re-organize clothes in closets re colour and sleeve-length (In August I am going back to Zones. I will pick up the rest of the drawer sorting in a zone project week.)

Mon Aug 1/ 16 I slept very sporadically. Today is a holiday in Canada - Civic Holiday. However many places are open. I have no plans. I will be starting new routines. I am going back to the zone weeks. However I decided that I am going to alternate months, in order to get projects done. 1 month will be projects, the next will be deep cleaning. This month is projects - projects can be anything related to décor, organization, or inside of drawers and closets. My first zone is the LR, entrance, coat closet, balcony, locker, birds, and car. It sounds like a lot but I don't think it is. I'm still trying to figure out the projects for here. I also changed some of my weekly stuff around. Monday is now empty vac's, change and wash linens, windex through. So for today: ME: Weigh and record Exercise 30 min (5 days a wk) - upper body? walk Shower, dress, makeup Log meals into MyFitnessPal Read Bible Time reading outside Paint fingernails DAILY: Circle tour (tidy) Catch up dishes Wipe down kitchen counters, sink, stove top Make bed changed sheets Empty drainage pail from ac unit Bird care Vac around bird cage Bathroom swish and swipe Toss garbage Declutter some emails EVERY OTHER DAY: Clean bird cage Wash up bird dishes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ MONDAY'S TASKS: Empty vacs Change sheets Change table cloth Change towels Wash sheets, towels - dry - put away Windex through - back of apt - bedroom, spare room, bathroom - front of apt - LR, DR, hall FINISH UP SOMETIME: - bring up items I left in locker while away - put away - drop off donations ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CHALLENGE FOR WEEK: AUGUST - PROJECTS Week 1 - Aug 1-6 - Zone 1 - LR, entrance, coat closet, balcony, locker, car - still working on ideas - change to navy linens, knickknacks - fix clock? - car wash - sort out coat closet, bird supplies - sort out locker? - visit cemetery **************************** Added Aug 2 - I did not feel all that well on Mon. Had slept very badly. Fell asleep while laundry was running, and again in the evening. Plus newer exercises were quite challenging. Between the two I felt quite listless at times. Not as much done as I would have liked.

Very fun to read about how happy your birds are now socializing And, how cute that they like one exercise video series over another. Not sure whether their talking means they like it more or less PC
