This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again..
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM!

Good morning tiredofthis. Thanks for starting WITS. I have to work 2-9 pm today, so my TODO list is short. 1. Wash and dress self. 2. Take all meds/vites/supplements. 3. Start a load of laundry washing. 4. Go out for breakfast with DSO. 5. Put laundry into dryer. 6. Go to work. 7. Take laundry out, fold, and put away. That's it for today. I'm working a 12 hour shift tomorrow, so I intend to rest well tonight. Have a good day everyone! :-*3G

Hello you all. I am tense with the anxiety of things I need to do today. Urgh... I can barely start. I know if I just keep moving, it will be better.
Done: 1. Removed some overgrown stalks (plants) from the garden into the green bin. 2. Hauled my neighbour's long and awkward ladder over to my house, and cleaned out the front and side eavestroughs. It is so cold, and the leaves are soaking wet and icy. I just couldn't do the back of the house, and will pray for a warmer or dryer day. Then I hauled the ladder back to the neighbour's yard and put it in its place. 3. Forced myself to talk to the guy who keeps parking in front of my house. He rents a room in my neighbour's basement.
His tall truck blocks my view when I have to exit the driveway, particularly during the busier times of the day. I was very sweet but firm. I told him I know he can park anywhere he wants, but would he please consider rotating the location he chooses. I also offered him a job, if he is willing to transport my storm door up the street to the hardware store to be fixed and bring it back/screw it into place. Let's see if he says yes. (It is really hard for me to make requests or to be firm.)
To Do: 1. Put away 10 items of folded linen or clothing. 2. Spend 15 minutes decluttering the dining room/bedroom. 3. Spend 15 minutes on my report card program... Just opening and looking at it... No expectations... Just a little peek to get things going.

Tiredofthis here's a hug. I understand depression all too well. Sapphire, ! Hypatia, you're off to a good start. Mellowyellow, it was a good idea to talk to the neighbor's tenant about his blocking your view. You catch more flies with honey, as they say. I'm anxious too, as I have so little time and so much to do. Countrygirl here's hoping we all lose the feelings of anxiety. It even keeps me awake at night, and hinders my progress the next day. I'm tired of it! Good luck with the LaundryZilla. I'm going to start mine in a few. My TADAS: 1. Washed, dressed, took meds/vites/supplements. 2. Made breakfast at home. (DSO not feeling well.) 3. Put some clothes away and tried on new outfit. TODOS: 1. Start laundry washing. 2. Go to work. 3. Put laundry in dryer on my way upstairs after work. Bye for now. 3G

Sounds like lots of us need a today. MellowYellow, great job on talking to the guy about the parking! Some of my neighbors park directly behind my driveway, making it almost impossible to get out but I've never said anything, I just get steamed and envision bad things happening to their cars (hmmm, maybe that big tree will fall...). Not the most productive route. Ta das: started load of laundry discovered the absolute disaster (lots of paint involved) that the cats made in the laundry room when they were fighting, and got started cleaning that up unloaded dishwasher Bonus tada: Didn't throw my cats out of the house after I discovered their latest disaster. To do: clean up breakfast dishes shower & dress switch over laundry

Oh my.. I just had visions of paint and cats everywhere. Very funny from afar.
Done: Not a heck of a lot. *sigh*
1. Checked my work emails. Sent two emails to coworkers. 2. Put automatic garage opener and maps in new car. 3. hmm....... Did some research for the adoption stuff. I read as much as I can find.
To Do: Something more useful and necessary 1. Go feed/depoop/play with my parents' cat. 2. Just 15 minutes of reports... Come on Mellow... 3. Just 15 minutes of the decluttering in the dining room....
Urghhhhh.... I am so worried about the report cards (new admin and no one is quite clear on their expectations) that I am scared to begin anything....
