nice work, larataylor ! My favorite part was the bit about tidying up at the neighbors.
Awesome, creativechaos ! isn't it great when we actually have the wherewithal to actually carry out a plan? right now those days are few and far between, but I think they will become more frequent now that fall is coming.
I love that your community has English-Spanish mixers! DPs' community sure could use that, especially considering the history and politics and grape-growing economy. Right now it is more like ridiculous stand offs between old people who want to keep the inappropriate name of the high school mascot "for tradition," and the young people who are trying to raise their consciousness.

creativechaos - I'm glad you got so much done at storage. I can so relate to losing track of time and not eating!

ha ha, larataylor - losing track of time and not eating is a new one for me! the trick is to remove myself from access to food thanks, mylittlescholar - yes, i love the mixers although there are still holdouts from the "good old days" and more of them moving here - which is concerning. i hope fall will bring a resurgence of energy for me too - i usually do better in Sept/Oct. fall came early this year and we are getting the oct/nov rains and winds in september. i wonder what winter will bring... it's blowing 50 and raining sideways today. i am off to a slow start but after my burst of energy yesterday that is to be expected. i need to find some overdue library books buried in the piles, for starters. tadas: sorted through some papers in piles; still can't find library book. (still sorting)

finally found my overdue library books today and will bring them to library tomorrow.
2 days ago i went to storage and this lady followed me there and took away that big metal stool i had impulsively bought, another bulky item, a spice shelf, two expandable baby gates, a craft item i made, and a few more things - that really helped me get rid of some bulk and the two big pieces in the hallway, before storage owner returned from a trip. it's a relief because that would have taken me 2 car trips to get rid of those things because they were big. that's about all i did there, besides break down some boxes at storage.
i caught up on some dishes today but my sleep is out of whack and i am so tired and listless today. tomorrow is climate strike events and now that i shirked responsibility and didn't go to work today, i am far behind, due to bad weather for the past 10 days. sat. i also have plans to be gone much of the day. first day back home, unless weather cooperates, will be Sunday.
i'm ushering for a play tonight and have to be there in 45 minutes. managed to shower but still am not dressed. will try to muster that.

the past few days looked nothing like what i had planned. i didn't go to the climate strike; i couldn't do craft day today, i was too sick. i tried but needed to be near a bathroom so that was out.
i'm not going to beat myself up - i did that enough through binge-eating and some other behaviors of self sabotage and my body and my psyche feels kicked all over; like i was thrown off a horse. i ended up being really sick this morning and spending much of the day in bed with a wicked headache and flu like symptoms and getting nothing done the past couple of days. i'm sure my bank account took a deep dive from these behaviors. that's all i will say about that. going to have to live frugally for next several months since i have semi annual car insurance pmt due in Dec.
i still need to deliver the overdue books to the library. didn't get to that yet.
i'm going to try to pick up the dropped pieces of my life and home and health and the many neglects, and decide what's most important in giving some relief and visual encouragement. hoping i will have a tadas list before bed tonight.
tadas (so far, starting at 5 pm, pacific time): started the dishes drank a quart of water made some oatmeal and my tummy likes it - so far, so good brought in all the stuff i had loaded into car when i thought i was going to craft day finished filling a small donation box from several days ago went for a brisk walk to try to help knee and hip pain. went back to sleep with cat for another hour of sleep. can't shake the headache. ate more.

Hey, hi and hugs, CC. 🥰
I am sad to read your second mom recently passed away. Even though you cannot be there in person for her memorial service, you will be there fully in spirit. I know it is not the same thing, and you would like to spend time with other loved ones who will be there. So heartbreaking. More hugs, just for that. 🤗❤

thank you so much, dear Irisheyes - it's such a blessing to come here and see your lovely avatar and read your message of understanding. thank you for those hugs! back at ya. miss you here so it feels extra special to read your message.
still backsliding and still hoarding... what else is there to say that hasn't already been said? today i woke up sick. had chills all night and today, sore throat and adenoids. ugh. i can blame my bad diet as of late for that. plus it's COLD in here.
my goal for today is to bundle up, go to storage, and extract all of my christmas crap and give it a quick sort. if i'm quick i can take that stuff to the thrift store before it closes at 4. if not, then tomorrow morning when it opens at ll.
tonight's goal is to make the binding and get my sister's quilt finished. i hope i don't end up sending her a "smallpox blanket!"
go to storage and get christmas stuff gathered (got most, probably not all of it) decide if sorting outside is ok or if i have to bring it all home (no room really for that!) it's in the car for now sort with the goal of fitting all but the tree, incl lights, into ONE christmas tub. gonna be tough - i LOVE my ornaments and have already sorted through them several times. take the rest to thrift store today before close, or tomorrow. TONIGHT: sew together binding for sister's quilt put binding on by machine - no time for hand stitching. eat some fruit and at least one vegetable today or tonight. make some chicken soup. did a lot of dishes.
well, just going to storage and going to 2 grocery stores for a few items took a lot out of me. took awhile to regroup. Luckily, Unswamping was up for some challenges - she with sewing and i with the dishes. thanks to her good company and having her for a work buddy, i got load after load of dishes hand washed. i see the light at the end of that tunnel. thank you unswampy!

thanks for stopping by the local disaster zone, joyinvirginia! i think i got adequate sleep last night but am still taking it easy since i know some bug and sinus infection is making me low energy. i may need a nap later today.
i had to post this link; anyone with ADHD may relate and get a few good laughs. This is how i do holidays; i try to laugh about it whenever i can, and just accept it. www.additudemag.com/when-adhders-take-on-the-holidays-we-always-lose/
so today's tasks are simple; keep excavating - especially papers. I've misplaced important time-sensitive ones... and where is that dam bottle of zinc i just bought?! keep on with the dishes - today's the day i catch all the way up begin sorting christmas bin - hoping i'll feel okayish enough tomorrow to get the releases to the local thrift store checked with owner. thrift store won't take it, they say it's too close to christmas - might try exchange later this week. if not, i'll put it in laundry room free box, once sorted. break down binding my sister's quilt into smaller steps, and stop dreading and procrastinating! I can do it, however badly. It's the thought that counts. pay 6 months' worth of car insurance call phone company about this latest big increase (merry christmas, you heartless corporate monopoly!) call social security left message with case worker about what i needed from them. hope that will work. call dshs to see if i can change something and not get the cash - which makes it look like i make income and then lowers my food stamps and raises my rent. make a whole lot of other unpleasant calls, still trying to untangle the wrong billing to the wrong health care plan. so aggravating that they cannot get this RIGHT - it's been months and months of this. gave up in despair and frustration - went for a walk to adjust my attitude to something more positive. it worked!
forget christmas cards this year... maybe new year's cards with a humorous rendition, Weird-Al style, of a Christmas carol. The ADHD cards were a hit last year.

I love that website, mylittlescholar - i'm glad it can benefit you and others. ha ha - i had to go for a walk after the medical calls - i was so irritated and anxious and upset! It did my head a world of good to just walk it off and put my body and head space in a happier place.
My cold is full-on and I'm sneezing and spitting this afternoon. Nevertheless, I went to zumba this morning with hand sanitizer in hand (was not sneezing there). Had tons of errands plus cat care to do so am just getting home but got everything i needed to do accomplished and now can just be home and rest and work at a gentler pace. Had to cancel the trip with the seniors to the other island - would have been fun but it would be irresponsible to infest everyone - plus I will save money by not going!
