Almost noon now, and I finished my daily maintenance of vacuuming the cat and dog hair up off the kitchen and hallway floor, and scooping litter boxes earlier this morning. This takes about half an hour. I'd like to think of a new maintenance task for this thread, one that I can make a good daily habit.
Tomorrow and the next day I'll be finishing my backlog of laundry. Good luck grasshopper and 1rarebeautifuldove!

For the first 10 min I vacuumed the floors in living room and kitchen and family room, where I could reach. For the second 10 min, I scrubbed the kitchen sink and did the couple dishes that were there, rinsed out a couple bottles (picked up after myself -- delayed) I am also going to be making an effort to maker the better choice when I finish with something, like rinse the bottle out and put it in the bucket, don't just leave it on the counter. Wash the dishes right after I use them. etc. What a concept. Glad to have others who want to join in!

Moving in a trance today and it's definitely not enlightening. I'm tired but have done my vacuuming and scooping and one load of laundry is in the machine. Still trying to think of a new daily maintenance task. With all that needs doing here it should be an easy decision but I want to be able to commit to it on a daily basis. A lot of what I do is on a weekly maintenance basis.
Have a great day grasshopper and 1rarebeautifuldove!

well my maintenance always seems to be dishes at the moment. i also swiped stovetop and bathroom sink, even though all around me is chaos. defending my gains. thank you for this thread. i think i easily did 20 minutes doing that.

I was up early and have already finished my vacuuming and scooping. I have four loads of laundry today and getting those done will get me to fully caught up. So that is/will be the maintenance for today.
creativechaos...WTG defending those areas! grasshopper...happy that yesterday was so good for you! 1rarebeautifuldove...doing whatever makes things nicer or easier is what it's all about.
I'm appreciating this accountability!

ty mynicehome - and WTG on vacuuming and scooping and tackling the laundry! it took me all day and night and a lot of procrastinating, but i finally did my 20 minutes of maintenance; cleaned up the kitchen sink and stove top from cooking, and did the dishes. i'm trying to pick up and "home" or sort a little bit more each day than the day before, despite the resistance. music has been a great helper. so i have some questions about what is maintenance when you're not in maintenance. obviously, dishes and defending gains. i still have so many bad habits: would hanging up clothes or putting away groceries, filing papers, opening mail, etc be considered maintenance; things like that? i feel dumb asking but then again, i need to know the difference between maintenance and dehoarding - and i am assuming there are different levels of maintenance, depending on lifestyle and how minimalistic somebody is. thanks.

Rats. I just lost my post because of my stupid tablet. I was congratulating you creativechaos and mynicehome, and explaining my lapse and trying to answer your question cc. Now I am just too tired. Tomorrow.
