Good job mynicehome !!! Well done on getting the trash out! Today I did lots of maintenance type things. I have been alternating between cleaning/dusting and decluttering. Today I dusted all the tops of things on the counters, things that get left out all the time so the bottles are dusty. I did some of the ones in the bathroom too. I also dusted 3-4 book shelves and straightened them up creating more room.

, I'm going to have to put posting on this thread on my daily to-dos. I'm sorry about my spotty recording here. I've done my dailies and have now added ten minutes of yard clean-up in the morning while the dogs are outside. I've been going out later too and doing more but I like that first ten minutes outside in the morning.

mynicehome Great job on adding 10 min outside! And on your dailies!! Today I got more things decluttered, added to the donate pile, and put away. Yesterday I did a lot more dusting. I have been making sure to pick up the pine needles every day that the dog tracks in.

Thanks 1rarebeautifuldove! I was up with the birdies this morning and my dailies are completed. Ground (and everything on it) was frozen this morning so will wait for some sunshine to get outside and rake up my new daily.

good job mynicehome !! I vacuumed for 20 min today, got most of the house swept. All that I could reach without finding a different plug. Good chunk of my bedroom, foyer, living room, family room, kitchen. I even used the hose attachment and got under a couple places in the kitchen. So it was a slightly deeper clean than normal.

Did 20 minutes of dusting today. So that meets this challenge part! Yay! Did other things, but dusting is definitely maintenance!

For today's efforts on this challenge I did 20 min of sweeping on the front porch. I also did another 10 min of dusting on the bookcase. Almost have another shelf done. Going for another 10.

have not posted here in some time, even though there were some days of at least 20 min of maintenance. mostly though, i am just treading in place or backsliding. Great work, all you maintainers!
i guess for awhile, maintenance would look like defending any gains i've made. i'm kind of starting over again here, since i let all my gains backslide. today i did 20 minutes of dishes, toilet swish, and corraling papers, and a quick sweep of fridge for any spoiling food - that's now in the dumpster.

creativechaos - I think maintenance is defending gains, until you've gained the whole house, then its the whole house. if that made sense. Maintenance IS the GOAL. So, doing just about anything, gathering trash, taking it out, washing dishes, making the bed, laundry, dusting, swishing and swiping in the bathroom, tending cat boxes, feeding the dog, brushing the dog, brushing the cat, watering the plants, pulling weeds, ..... Today, I vacuumed in the bedroom, mostly the corner and where the dresser goes - I finally pushed it in place, as I got the drapes on that window up FINALLY! Yay me! I also gathered up all the trash and took it out to the front. Two big black bags went out. I picked some things up off the floor. I vacuumed the living room and part of the family room. Short on time this morning. But I did a few things.

I did laundry today, vacuumed, put away clothes, and picked up a few things from the closet floor. I know I did more than 20 min today.

I cleaned and dusted for 7 sets of 3 minutes each today. It was one of those short quick bursts days. But I got my 20 min in.

Good for you vyas. Thanks for keeping the thread going! I like your 3 minute bursts. I think I need to use that.
I have been focusing on exercise, which is good, but I need to catch up on cleaning. I spent hours doing yard work on Tues. Today I did laundry and loaded and ran the dishwasher. There was flooding in the basement because the drain is backed up. I will have to deal with that before I can do the laundry again. I'm not really sure what to do or who to call.

My house is clean! Top to bottom!
April Fool!
I wish! Sorry about my spotty posts. I've been either keeping up or catching up on my dailies in the past two weeks. Hope to settle back into a "normal" morning routine and started this morning. Some outside work on today's to-dos as well.
Keep up the good work 1rarebeautifuldove, creativechaos, and grasshopper! It's a new month and a fresh start!

Yesterday, I dusted the Kirby vac which still lives at the house even though I use the Dyson now. It was really dusty. I also dusted the step stool, very dusty also. I also did a section of the floor, and dusted the surge protect and the front part of the treadmill. Still working on clearing off the desk top. I refilled the bird feeder. I did dust one shelf in the kitchen. Today I want to dust the bedroom furniture and vac in there. I like wynken 's suggestion of systems vs. goals. I have been reading and watching videos about that idea. And the idea of making it a very small, almost laughable, goal - like one push up, or one minute of dusting. With systems, you focus on the process itself - because with a goal, your subconscious constantly reminds you that you are not there yet.
