Working at getting RID of many things DAILY..logging helps if I do it late in day and feel accomplishment:
- special pricey designer sheets-still like new- I bought when me and DH moved to a new place..in like 1988!! silly as they are queen size and I have a double bed now..for years!.. so rarely use them. Hope someone will discover them at the thrift and be happy.
-boxing up misc. books I don't want, will never read.
-97 bulbs dug from front garden lots of bending, troweling & dirty gloves..plus tossed tons of green tops to slow them spreading
-fancy lap top desk- with bean bag base to mold to legs, hard top..never used
-favorite Rustic wilderness Santa figure rowing in a 2' long bark boat- my style, but one thing too many -1 pair good leather heels, hate throwing them in trash, not energetic enough to offer on Freecycle, I don't think anyone should wear used shoes tho.
- caved in and kept two pair better leather med. heels.. so will decide later. having short, extra wide feet makes finding good shoes is impossible, delay decision.
- new plexiglass cook book holder -protects entire open book.
-other assorted things, just load into waiting donation boxes on couch.

I just bought one of those lap desks a few months ago, and I use it frequently to hold my iPad or sometimes even a book! I really like it. Looked and looked in stores but finally had to order from Amazon because I couldn't find in stores. "one woman's trash is another one's treasure!"

peaceandfreedom.. I had TWO, both got free..so I kept the better one with detachable pillow, and a real wood top, a handle slot too.
these things need a better design, a long strip of wood across the bottom would keep a book or laptop from sliding off.. a groove or two for a pencil.
the one I donated has a cup holder built in..which is why I kept it so long. and it has a skinny lamp light on a gooseneck built in but the batteries rusted inside so it doesn't light up.
I recently read a display book on 100 Japanese designs, the most incredible simplicity in little things from chopsticks and chairs, to pot handles, a table top that hides kids toys ..they really do ergonomic better than even the Germans. I think there is a more open mindedness, curiosity and view of the future..businesses there have a hundred year business plan, and constantly look to improving the SAME product again and again, always better, where we pressure for meeting a sales goal EVERY quarter..wasting tremendous energy in covering up slow sales and CYA.

Nothing big, but just tossing things by the handful last night .... "Easter" pencils, Easter grass, junky little toys from their Easter baskets (from Grandma from Dollar store), small broken toys.

I got rid of two big bags of old clothes, undies, socks, and hosiery that were covered in lint, dust, and dirt from getting kicked around my floors. Some had moth evidence on them. Too dirty to put in my washer. Dang, I should have removed and saved the buttons from some of the clothes but I just wanted them out. Good riddance!

wtg MamaAngie - every lil' bit of anything GONE counts! you too, outfromundah - on getting rid of two big bags of old clothes! i got rid of about 15 dahlia tubers, gave away. two bins are now emptied. yay! i'm compiling a few more small boxes of tubers to give to another person; that will get rid of about 10 more tubers, i hope. one more couple wants several... the leftovers, i will take to the food bank on Tuesday i think, or put out curbside. i want them GONE! i still have to plant mine when the ground warms and dries out some more. i have about 34 to plant. wondering if i can cull some more.

Today the best I could accomplished was pulling a swath of Buttercup obscuring EVERYTHING and the footpath... pounds and pounds and bins full.
4 billion of them in my side yard must love the wet winter and the clay-rich soil here!!...I should have used my stool and sat while I dug them up, one square ft at a time... but will pay the price tonight.
I HAVE laid weed cloth before (bwaaaaahahahah) and laid 13 heavy cast iron water cover grates as steps...Buttercup grow thru the finger hole in the 40lb grates! I have a new plan for at least a narrow walkway.
Donated more cookbooks, magazines.

Halfway, I don't expect that the fact the buttercups are blooming means that it is at last SPRING TIME helps at all, does it?! We don't have buttercups in the yard but we do have tons of other weeds to work on. All the rain we've had this winter and spring has created lush growth of everything everywhere. I'm hoping that weather permits working outside a LOT this week! Hang in there, you are not alone.

Today I packed up the car full of donation boxes, and some things for the recycle yard.
I have two old style TVs, they will cost $2. each to recycle- no one wants the cute portable B&W..it was a gift and has my name on it from a boss back in 1979! The old color one still works, but nothing shows now as it is all reception is converted to cable.
peaceaNDFREEDOM AH YES SPRING..NOT MY FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR ACTUALLY, FALL IS, BUT THERE ARE A BILLION BUTTERCUPS I AM NOT REMOVING...
opps caps, too *** to retype
my point is you simply can't hire anyone to PULL anything by hand..I have to do it. Men want to weed whack or mow..which solves nothing. there are a couple eco-groover girl gardeners and it costs a fortune for them to pull anything.
I don't see Buttercups as weeds..I respect all the living and green plants which are in their niche, so I try not to say weeds, you just have to fight them if you don't want them to take over here. I don't use chemicals, and the result of too many Himalayan berry bushes is you get berries!!
Crabgrass may serve some purpose, I don;t appreciate it, and at least it pulls out easily.

-I loaded up a few rusty metal items I saw as great craft opportunities..both were already used as outdoor art - one was a 12 bottle wine rack, and an iron hoop..and it pains me to take them to recycle yard today..but I will never progress with the 'volume' of stuff unless I let things go. -loaded more boxed books into car- ready to head for donation and recycle yard with paper trash.. - throwing away the rusted ruined metal parts of a heavy old floor lamp- but saved the glass parts! (asking amnesty of the trash gods in favor of the craft gods) I took apart an ugly- beautiful late 70-80s floor lamp- HUGE heavy orange glass base is practically an eyesore ---with a raised glass 'table' top thru which a metal rod leads to lamp-- dang thing was too rusted in the cord when I saved it for the glass... and cheap laminated metal is peeling..the heavy round glass table with a perfect small center hole cries out as "cool project" so am giving myself a month to figure out use. letting the creative juices stew. I can place small holiday lights INSIDE the huge globe...so it will be a night light glow when plugged, as a corner table top. (enormous orange globe is way too heavy to convert to a hanging lamp) here is a floor lamp with a wood branch base.... www.houzz.com/photos/45360474/72-Birchwood-With-Table-Floor-Lamp-rustic-floor-lampsI SHOULD have taken a photo while it was assembled. sorry for plugging up this topic...
