After nearly two years I've finally connected the water barrel collecting run off from the back porch to the drain pipe. It was ridiculously simple. No idea why I was so nervous about doing it before now Empty now ready to take up tomorrow's scheduled downpour without worrying if it will overflow.☔ Come on rain, do your worst !

I have started on tax prep and finalized one other area of paperwork. Was very happy to see I am ahead of the accountant this year (he's back to the office on Tuesday). Also, got two monthly bills on pre-authorized so that I don't have to deal with mailing out monthly checks. No idea why it took me so long to get it done!

How satisfying to get these things done that we've been putting off!
Today I caught up on a year's worth of tallying book titles I read in 2016. I put them in 2 different website databases which then helps me remember which books I've read, and which books are left in the many series that I'm reading. I would prefer to do this monthly so the DBs are more current, and I will try this year to keep up. But at least 2016 is all done!

There were 2 big things that happened this week that took a long time to set up--one was finally getting electrical work started in the hallways of the condo building that I live in--I'm on the board and was responsible for finding someone to do this work. Also, I got many bags of donations picked up by a charity, this was something I started planning at the beginning of December! However, only part of the delay in both of those was my procrastination, the rest was other peoples' schedules--so I really can't count those as my procrastination items.
But today I sat down with my cell phone and finally figured out how to get the photos off of it and onto my computer--no small thing for someone as technologically dense as I am. I've been meaning to do this for months, so yes, it counts as my procrastination item!

Today I went through all of my computer reminders to update them. Some were no longer needed, a few needed the timing changed, and I added one. I've needed to do this for a long time, so it counts as this week's item.

This week's item was to fix the door knob and plate in my tool shed. I had not been able to even shut the door much less lock it in two months and had a tire inside with a string that I pulled through the door to at least keep most of the weather out. It was warm the other day and something came over me that I could fix it, so I went out, took a good look, grabbed a screwdriver and started removing screws. I had to find some cardboard, cut it to fit to shim the lock plate up and screwed it back. The plate on the door jam was a little harder, but much the same with an application of an 4lb hammer and angling the screw lower in the wood got the door locked. I was quite proud of myself.

gosh, i meant to bookmark this thread - no wonder i lost it! Done now. WTG, imamess, for screwing up your courage and getting that shed door to lock! i finally did the 2015 taxes several weeks ago, so that's off the dreaded list. i need a new procrastination item - with so many to choose from that shouldn't be too hard! been dreading walking down to laundry room in the snow and ice. my goal is: 1 load of laundry - washed, dried, folded, and put away. if i get that done, here are two more: one hour of sorting at storage or home work on project A, Living room

Yesterday I finally had a haircut. I was more than 2 months overdue for one. Today I will call my tax lady for an appointment. I also have a newsletter to finish. Somehow I thought I had another week until I talked with some friends yesterday.

Weird, I thought I posted on this thread this morning but I must not have hit enter. I said that my item for this week was closing out a checking account that I don't use any more, I've had a new account with another bank for a year now, so this was a long over-due item, I'm relieved that it's done.

Last week: Taxes done Newsletter done Meeting prep/speech done Quilt pieces trimmed
This week: I've put off cleaning & sorting the 2 junk drawers in my kitchen for years. Today is the day! I'm being forced into it because my carpenter is pulling the kitchen cabinet to fix floors.

Ah, the infamous junk drawers! Ima, let us know if you find anything interesting in there!
I did a procrastinated item today. I had ordered something from Chewy.com and there was a customer service issue so they sent a replacement item. I realized afterwards that the confusion was due to an incorrect description on their website, so I kept meaning to write back. So today, over 2 weeks later, I sent them an email telling them what the error was, and thanking them for replacing the item. I should have done it right away, of course.
After I sent the email I heard back from them within a couple of hours, thanking me for the information and saying they would correct the website. Very impressive customer service!

I did another tiny item today--for the last several weeks there has been a little drill bit sitting on top of my dryer next to the toaster (I forgot to put it back into the holder last time I used it), and every time I wipe up that surface I have to pick up the drill bit and say "oops, better not lose this". Then I would just put it back in the same place. So today I dug out the drill box from the tool cabinet and replaced the drill bit in its proper place. Diane
