Ima, congrats for finishing your challenge! One and a half weeks to go! My taxes are done, and my 2nd BR is close to being done, I really hope I can finish in the time left. I fell behind this past week because of some physical ailments which sapped my energy, but I'm feeling better and really want to be able to say I finished this room. I still have several areas that have messes to put away, and then there will be some cleaning. Diane

Hey Diane, it looks like I'm starting another challenge a few days early. My carpenter that I've been waiting on since last April will start working for me on Tuesday. He will start on my building at the farm that I want to turn into a getaway cabin and probably be at my house on Wednesday or Thursday to install flooring (which I have to order on Monday). The subfloor has problems and will probably lead to ripping out the kitchen cabinet and replacing it, counter & sink which may lead to other things. I'm excited and dreading it all at the same time. I have two days to strip my living room and kitchen of everything small. The guys will move the furniture.

Wow Ima, that's a big project but it'll be a great thing to have done. And a getaway cabin...that sounds like a really big project. So you already have your early spring challenge all planned!

Couldn't remember what I planned to do sometimes life gets in the way. 1) Finish what I'm calling my "circle back" - going back through sections of the house - drawers, closets, etc. and re-organizing/purging. nothing done here 2) Do the same thing at DM's - her first floor has regained a lot of the ground we won a few years ago disappointing but wasn't able to do anything at DM or FOL's my last visit 3) Hire handy person at least twice to help hang things and do some minor maintenance tasks. and have the next appointment scheduled 4) Get a quote on re-doing the master bath - has water damage and we knew it was coming sooner than later. 5) Taxes - personal and business. almost finished turning over business ones to accountant - may "start" on personal before the end of the month 6) Start work on pictures during DM's visit 7) Establish daily/weekly maintenance tasks getting better at this but right now it is situational. DM is visiting and she is a big help on laundry. And, DH is traveling so less clutter pick up On my blog, I'm planning on declaring myself into "my version" of maintenance before the end of the month and starting a new blog. I have two big things to clear out of a guest bedroom and at that point - all rooms are usable for their intended purpose. And, everything is put away in its designated space. The space may be stuffed full, cluttered and disorganized but it exists and things are in it. I will continue my "circle back" as a maintenance activity. We are also out of CHAOS which is a huge part of maintenance for me. I have people over all the time whether they are service people or friends. That is the greatest gift I have gained from my years at SooS Yes, Good luck everyone on your last few days of the challenge!! PC

Well I did ok! I give myself a passing grade I really hoped for taxes done but not done yet. But I am in the thick of them. Being sick for the last two weeks was an unexpected wrinkle. I made progress on my closets. All Christmas stuff safely packed away. Did some consigning. Pretty good effort on getting to gym. Bedroom needs lots more cleaning still. Just a little progress there Really thrilled w my 2017 items challenge. Nearly 600 items either tossed donated or recycled : ) That financial decision still not made. A tough one w out clear answer. Well looking forward to the next two month challenge!

Phoenixcat, that is indeed a marvelous accomplishment!
Magda, sounds like you did good as well--you're really moving on that 2017 items out challenge!
I'm not 100 percent finished with my second bedroom but since there would always be more to do in that room, I'm considering it a success. I even got cleaning done, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, washing some surfaces--the room looks so different, it's a pleasure to walk in there now. The function of the room is storage so it will always look full, but what a huge difference from when I started.
Good work everyone, even to those who only got a little done, something is better than nothing!
I'm going to make the next challenge thread now, and I honestly have not thought for even a minute about what I want to do for it, so I'll have to think hard for the next couple of days.
