Dishes washed by candle light the last two days. Day5 cleanbee. Borrowed a gas burner so at least I can cook now. Heat water perhaps. I think ill need to do that tomorrow. It feels good to have done those few dishes etc instead of making an excuse of power cut. Tree is blocking road and is over power lines. Repeat over much of the state, only some are flooded or have a damaged home, and are homeless now. Hoping tomorrow I can drive my car out of my street again.

Hello wynken and friends, I can relate to being without power for long periods of time...we have a lot of hurricanes here in Pensacola. I've been hitting my piles lately. Piles on tables, packed closets,DH's truck, 1 outbuilding that hasn't seen the light of day and even stuff piled in the yard. I'm in the garage right now...trying to make sense of it all. Hurray to those who are making a point of having a clean, clear sink. With that, you can do anything.

"celebrating" clearing the dishes and recycling off the kitchen sink and worktop by treating the sink to a good clean . Got the plunger out, and checked the U-bend for gunk. Nope I don't imagine I will go flylady and bleach it everyday, but perhaps it can get an almost daily "swish and a swipe" ,,,,,, my "Born Organized" friends would never understand that clearing out a sink could ever be cause for a celebration

yay to work done in kitchen notanotherdecadepost big tree down cleanup I let things go. This morning I caught up again. My special mix for sink cleaning I really made for insect /tick repellent. 1 litre water, 1 tsp teatree oil - pure, dash of dish wash liquid so oil dissolves, in a spray bottle. Great result on the sink and draining board.

My kitchen is still in decent shape but I haven't been keeping up with the dishes as often as I was. Such a small sink piles up quickly. Last night I took all the dishes that were in the sink and moved them to a dishpan, then filled it with soapy water. Also have a small pile of pots and bowls on top of the stove. Will wash everything later today, after I accomplish a few other tasks in the LR, mainly sorting through and tossing papers.
My kitchen used to be such a source of stress for me, but now I know it doesn't take long to get it back to ship-shape.
