Despite getting ready by pre-soaking, and vowing in my previous post to this thread that I would wash all the dishes that had piled up, I punked it and didn't do any that day! Since then, instead, I was haphazardly washing here and there whatever I needed, but also kept pulling new glasses and dishes out of the cabinets instead of just dealing with the pile. Really made a bigger mess by resisting doing the dishes - I can be so stubborn!
Well, this evening I washed, dried, and put away all of it, everything. Whew, I wouldn't stop until it was all done. I really must not let things pile up that much again. It's so pleasant when everything is clean, put away, and my sink and counter are cleared off and clean.

Try for a daily habit Serendipity even if its a case of a good sink load at a time. Me too. I was doing well for a while, then lost it when another whatever got in the way. I've needed to wash a pot / pan in order to cook a meal for a while.

Great work Serendipity. I washed a pot up - so I could cook dinner, - and while dinner cooked washed up some more. Washed my small pot today to cook bfst in. Pots awaiting are gathered in a tub on the floor.

Serendipity - how many plates, glasses, etc. do you need daily? Why not pack away all but what you need, or maybe one or two extras? I did this because of the young people here who take all the dishes to their rooms and leave them there ... the more we have, the more I will have to retrieve when we run out, and the longer they will have been there.

It's those darn frying pans that are getting me. They don't just wipe clean and the underside of them is really bad. I got some more barkeepers friend and some other scouring pads. DIshes are holding in the dishwasher and the pans are hidden in the deep sink for now.

Did do some dishes washed. swipe at counter. 15 min. beesnest - good luck with the frying pans. elbow grease can help too. Also cooking with olive oil will gunk up a non-stick frypan as it has a low smoke point, and also leaves a residue. That's not promoted by the olive oil promoters. Beginning is always a good thing to do, even if its all not done, nor perfectly done. Serendipity - did you get on to some of your dishpot stack ? Little by little it can get done. So long as you wash up today's dishes plus some more you will be catching up, and helping a helpful habit form.

hooray for Wyn!! I have gathered up all the coffee cups that ran away and hid. And water glasses. I have used plastic glasses for coffee extra from my kuerig so now they smell. Will try to get it out with baking soda.
