Kudos to all for their accomplishments over the past two week!!!! I have not posted since the beginning of the first week . The first week I was just getting back to school over the holiday break and this past week I have been sick. So here is an update 1) Go to the Gym Monday, Wednesday, FridayDid well the first week last week no gym time at all . I hope to go tomorrow, will not do cardio but will work with the machines. 2) Complete 30 min cleanProgress has been made -- not much but some 3) Complete 7 of the 31 day cleaning challengeNo progress unless thinking about it counts 4) 30 mins a day taxes x 7 daysThis has been hit or miss this week I need to hit it hard -- my goal is to be done by the end of the month and that is still a doable goal. 5) 10 mins a day AG x 5 daysWorked packing up a couple of days the first week....still an elephant in the room 6) 10 mins a day Clothes Clean out x 5 days Worked on this a couple of days as well 7) 15 min declutter garage x3 days No progress have not even thought about it. 8) InDesign 1 hour a day -- This is really a push but sometimes we have to feel the pain to gain the reward. This is another area that I need to hit hard this week. I struggle with this and I am not sure why 9) Christmas I have everything packed up except for the banister decorations....

So happy to see people making an effort on their goals! I'm sorry to say that I did not succeed with my goal this week, I totally forgot about stretching one day and after that my enthusiasm faltered so I didn't even finish out the week. I'm not sure what I need to do on this goal, I consider it really important but I can't seem to get myself to do it. I might check out the "healthy" thread, and try to post there--I need to keep trying something until I can succeed at this or I know I'll be sorry.
So, I won't repeat this goal even though I didn't meet it, instead I'm going to do something towards my winter goal of cleaning out the 2nd BR.
My goal this week will be to deal with 4 bins of books that are underneath a table in the 2nd BR. I think 2 of them can be emptied out and the books dealt with, the other 2 have to be checked and the bins labeled so I don't forget what's in them later on. If I can empty the 2 bins and use that space for something else that'll be helpful.

I've been chipping away at the bins under the table and I'm about half way through them. This afternoon I have a chunk of free time so my goal is to finish them and label them so I remember later what I put in there. Finding more books to donate.

As per usual, half way through last week I changed plans on doing my deep cleaning. Some got done - and some other things got done instead. I was also out every day, so that made things different for me too. Here are the results of what I planned. Goals for Week January 15 - 21, 2017: Work on setting up a weekly routine Waterfit 4 times Got out 5 times! PROJECT: BEDROOM DRAWERS CONTAINING CLOTHES, wipe out, reorganize contents, donate anything not used Highboy: - top part - 3 drawers Triple dresser - left section 1 of 3 drawers - middle section - right section (None should take long since I did this a few months ago) EDIT 1 blog subscription for keep or unsubscribe EXTRA MONTHLY TASK: BOOK CASES in SPARE ROOM - move items as needed - damp dust really well - figure out how to curtain them off changed mind on curtaining them off NEED TO FINISH: Recover seats of 2 DR chairs Set up files for new year CRAFT: Start crocheting!!! ****************** In the end I decided that I really wanted to work on the bird room. I decided a month on 1 room, ignoring all but the basics in others, was not going to work for me, so I decided to go back to zones - so each room gets some attention each month, with nothing set in stone - just doing what needs it the most. So I made a new plan, and last week was the bird room even though started late. After removing items from the bookcases that I wanted elsewhere, I only had 2 large knickknacks left. I moved them out, and then realized that it's mostly just books in there now, but would be good landing spots for the birds who don't fly well. So Sat. PM I moved enough stuff around in the room, so that I could open the cages, let them out if they wanted, while I had a good place to sit and observe. The new bird did come out, flew around, and went into the other cage - and stayed there for the night. There wasn't any fighting but I'm not sure quite how the others feel - there was lots of nattering between them. But all has been quiet over night. The other 2 birds did not come out - but I am hoping that in future the new one will teach them. She flies well. (She had been trying to fly in her 'small' cage and would sit and stare at the other 2. I felt bad for her which is why I sped up the process.)

The zone room for the upcoming week is now the LR and DR, so I am going to complete the shelf-cleaning, etc in there that was on last week's list. I'm glad my deep cleaning - or extras - are only in 1 area now, and I can come back each month to pick up where I left off.
Goals for Week January 22 - 28, 2017:
Continue working on setting up routines Monitor birds together Look into getting another male budgie Waterfit 4 - 5 times Work on lower body weight bearing exercises - stationary bike or what?
WEEK 4, ZONE 4 - LIVING ROOM, DINING ROOM, ENTRANCE - clean shelves in fireplace console cabinet - clean and re-organize shelves in 2 LR cabinets - move winter china to china cabinet - recover 2 DR chair seats that I have removed - recover last 2 DR chair seats
EDIT 1 blog subscription for keep or unsubscribe
NEED TO FINISH: Set up files for new year
CRAFT: Start crocheting!!!

WTG hollyhock on doing lots! i'm especially impressed at your commitment to waterfit, and setting up a weekly routine. great job, dtesposito on realizing and modifying your goal and deciding to move it to another area. you DID get your goals done, just not the stretching that you wanted to. woot woot RoadRunner - despite health setbacks, you are beep-beeping along! since i have been doing this weekly challenge at least i feel i am getting SOME things done, even if not ALL. since improvement is what i seek, that is good enough for me. my Sunday report is that i got 2015 taxes done - the big project -and got my deep-cleaning project done in kitchen (clean inside of fridge entirely). since i still have today and tonight for finishing my "week", i will report any more successes on the projects i set out to do this week. not doing good on brushing teeth. a lifetime of not doing it will probably not turn around in a week. i thought if i brushed at night before bed, that would at least cover the best of times and not have me go to bed having not done it. so far, i did one night. and a few x in the mornings. i am shooting for ONCE a day, which would be a VAST improvement for me. i also did rather poorly on sort and release and avoided the mouse problem in storage by attending two days of quilt camp (they gave me a scholarship because of my vet hospital bills.) that was fun, but now i need to get back to work, since from Thurs through much of sunday afternoon i will be off island and then back to camp for the last winter one. they're all local. i can set goals and do this! This week's goals: (Monday, 23rd through Sunday, 29th)finish apt recertification - finished. was waiting for a letter from social security. it came today (Mon. 30th)mail off 2015 taxes (i get a small refund) mailed today! happy dance!mail the 2014 1040 x and all necessary papers to the IRS that i THOUGHT i mailed but, according to them, i never did! (another refund) mailed today! happy dance!deal with storage unit mice - traps - i set two snap traps. hated to do it! order catch and release traps and set those - no more excuses!check mouse traps daily; clean and re-set as needed (one check box per each day done) make grocery and household needs list for mainland shopping trip with seniors on Thursday canceled trip - cat not feeling that good and quilt camp starts tomorrow anyway. i can monitor him more closely if i stay on-island.prep what i am taking to quilt camp - small projects. box up fabric and books i am taking to release at quilt camp. took 10 - 6 went. will release two for sure; undecided about the other two that came back with me, since one is about watercolor.work on sorting and releasing for at least 6 hrs this week. i have about 4 boxes of fabric and scraps to take to quilt camp - did not make 6 hours on this, and very little went out except a small box of scraps and some books.book research, sorting, and release tooth brushing once a day (bedtime preferable) - 1 check box for every day i do this load of laundry wash, dry, fold, put away

Hollyhock, I'm glad you were able to let the birds get flying time, I'm sure they're happy about that (or, the other 2 will be when they realize what it means).
CC, congrats on the 2015 taxes--now when you get the last bits of 2014 done--does that mean you'll be caught up with taxes?
I decided that this week's goal will be another bookshelf area in the 2nd BR--there's a cabinet with 3 shelves and then an open shelving unit on top of that with 3 more, which means 6 shelves. The deep one inside the cabinet is for old newspaper for the bird cages, that leaves 5 shelves that have miscellaneous books in particular categories, plus some of the ones that I was going to sell that still need to be gone through. It will be great to have everything on those shelves current and neat. This will also allow me to get another bag and a half together to go with the other donations on Wednesday (I told them there would be 12 bags of LPs and 14 bags of books and that I wouldn't add any beyond that, because it might screw up their scheduling!) I currently have 12 1/2 bags of books ready.
So at the end of this week I want those 5 shelves to be finished. Then by next week, the LP bags will be out of there and I can start cleaning.

Even though I am still not feeling well I managed to put nearly everything back in place. There was not much and I did it the BDG style. There is still the second coat rack to hang, but since the floor has risen a bit I need to adjust the attachment to hang it and I need to feel well for that.
I would like to do some more laundry this week.

My goal for this week is to decorate my living room. This includes painting ceiling, walls, baseboards and door and laying floor tiles. Also, painting bookcases and hanging new curtains. I have all the materials I need, including a new rug which will cover half the floor once the tiles are laid, and I have the time. It's been in a preparation state for about four months. Other things have taken priority in that time but now there's no excuse. I just have to get on with it.
So far today I've cleared the floor of everything that doesn't need to be there and started painting a bookcase that will be moving into the hall when it's finished.
The easiest way is to clear the room completely, then do all the painting and finally the floor before moving furniture back but there isn't the space to do this. It will have to be done in sections.

WTG lydia, on the painting in sections; wise way to do it and many professional paint jobs in people's homes are done in this same way. RoadRunner, i know you will step up your game and get done what you want to! glad you're on the mend! entropy, i love your balanced list - WTG on all those checked boxes! this week's motto: some done is better than none done! i decided that i need to try e-filing with the 2015 taxes. have not done that yet. i also hit some snafus with the 2014 amended tax return and i had a devil of a time finding the 2014 things they wanted me to send, but all are copied, highlighted, and ready to mail - hopefully today or tomorrow morning!
