I didn't do so well on last week's goals. Exercise - waterfit x 3 only twice - Mon. did not feel well - other exercises x 3 or 4 3 times DR chairs - recover 2 seats that are removed finished one - prepare 2 seats that aren't started - finish last 2 chairs Birds - maybe get 1 more male budgie (cage is ready in LR) - sit with them x 3 nights, to see if they come out cant recall if I sat with them 2 or 3 evenings, have decided to do with M W F, evenings after waterfit when I'm too tired to do much else. Paperwork - prepare files for 2017 - set up file for incoming tax papers for 2016 - pick up tax forms when they come in (I am told that they can't be put out until Feb 5) - prepare bullet journal for Feb Zone 5 - bathroom - decobweb - wash light fixtures, change bulb - steam shower walls Errand - get a proper size crochet hook 2 errands - for crochet hook and another budgie, I was not in the areas to do this. Much of the week I felt really exhausted and sore, and had trouble getting any motivation. It was also very cold out for a few days, and I don't want to bring out a budgie in that weather.

Plans for upcoming week: Feb 5 - 11/ 17
Last week I did not get very far in my challenge plans. I'm still trying to work out a routine for myself, to fit in my exercising. I find more and more I keep delaying my paperwork (and other projects.) I'm not sure how to fit them in. The paperwork stuff could take a fair amount of time - but I have set myself up a plan, where I can hopefully work on it little by little, and then tuck it away. I think trying to force myself to just sit and do it won't happen, so right now I am thinking that what I should do is devote 15 minutes daily to 'projects'. My projects will be the paperwork, that will be setting up my files, doing taxes, and the big sorting project. 15 minutes a day until done. (This paper sorting has been on my agenda for about 2 years now. I keep saying to do it every winter.)
However, I have an old friend coming here this week - I saw her 2 weeks ago for the first time in over 40 years, then she will return to her home about 4 1/2 hours away probably in the next week - so I plan to leave most of my paperwork until after her visit instead of creating a big mess before she comes. However I can work a bit on current stuff - and the ongoing DR chair recovering process. I am forgoing zone work until the paperwork project is over - unless there are things that should be done monthly that seem to require attention now. (like the bathroom light)
So this week's plans are: Exercise - waterfit x 3 - other exercises x 3 or 4 DR chairs - recover seat that is removed - prepare 2 seats that aren't started - finish last 2 chairs Birds - maybe get 1 more male budgie (cage is ready in LR) - sit with them x 3 nights, to see if they come out. Paperwork (15 minutes a day): - prepare files for 2017 - set up file for incoming tax papers for 2016 - pick up tax forms when they come in (I am told that they can't be put out until Feb 5) Zone 5 - bathroom - wash light fixtures, change bulb Zone 2 - LR/ DR - change bulb in DR light - vac LR couch and chairs Errand - get a proper size crochet hook - hair cut

I have done some ironing this morning and I want to finish it next week. I have 3 large pieces left to do. I also want to do my morning yoga at least every other day. It is high time for me to start exercising again!

well done with adjusting your goals and prioritizing exercise, hollyhock - that is admirable! and lucie; well done on the ironing and morning yoga goals! i did mostly OK on last week's goals, got all the "big stuff" done. i'm still trying to navigate all the social security/medicare stuff and it's exhausting. but today i got on the web and have been researching all day on the PASS and Ticket To Work programs with social security. printed out extra application for PASS and now know a little bit where i need to start to get the PASS process going. it's daunting and i need to make a plan for taking small step-by-step bites of this. my week goes from Monday through Sunday, so this week's goals are: To-Do: MEDICARE/SSI/PASS/Ticket to Work:straighten out medicare stuff with phone calls quality time with kitty every day, lots of playing and cuddling work on Ticket to Work program at least two hours this week - mainly phone calls to voc rehab people and WIPA get help with my application to PAS - if it's appropriate after i finally get to talk to someone start drafting a business plan - get help with that. To Do - Other:file more papers box more fabric do project A in LR (could go longer than a week) increase sorting/releasing time - one check mark for each hour wash, dry, and put away a load of laundry nightly tooth care keep setting and rebaiting traps in storage. did not go today or yesterday due to snow and ice! not driving right now.im sure there will be more to add to this list but i can't think of it right now. edited 2/15 - i did rather poorly on this list. fell into a depressed, paralyzed funk, trying to crawl out of that i let everything go - including my own self care - but the scooping.

Oh boy, where did half the week go?
i need to make a plan for taking small step-by-step bites of this.
Good idea, CC!
There are so many things I could have as this week's goal but I think I'm going to do another 2nd BR goal--getting my trading books in that room organized. Once that's done, there will be only one more area that needs to be organized, and after that, some cleaning--and my 2nd BR project will be done.

It's Friday and I'm only about halfway done with my weekly goal--I will need to work on it tonight and tomorrow. Tomorrow I only have a couple of hours of paid work and then have to stick close to home the rest of the day because of an electrician working at the building, so I should be able to get it done tomorrow.

Hello all, What day of the week does the weekly challenge start on? My goal for this upcoming week is to finish my bedroom. This involves re arranging furniture and shampooing carpet as soon as about an hour's worth of de cluttering that is left is done. Cheering you all on in your goals!! Yay! Yay! Yay! I have done the ironing this morning and managed to do yoga 5 times out of 7.
I want to keep up with the yoga next week and make an inquiry about a yoga class near my work place. I would like to try it, if it is for beginers.

Ima, when do you have to give your speech? Is it for your geneology work? I am afraid of public speaking and could never do a speech, so you are brave!
Grammea, you can choose whatever you want the week to be. I do Sun-Sat, but some people (and some calendars) consider a week to be Mon-Sun. I sometimes don't get around to making my goal until Monday or Tuesday but I still try to finish it, so, do whatever works for you. Good luck with your bedroom goal, do you have help to rearrange the furniture?
Lucie--I really need to follow your example and muster up the discipline to do my stretching every day--I am totally FAILING on that goal. And yet when I do it, I feel so much better. Are you doing the kind of yoga that is mostly stretching, or the kind that is a form of resistance exercise? Back when I was able to work with weights I was doing some Pilates poses that were difficult (at least, for me!). Maybe yoga is something that I could get back into without hurting my sore joints.
I will be home from work in the early afternoon today, and don't have to go back out, so my hope is to finish the Federal tax forms. The hardest work is done, but I have to check my calculations on all the forms, and then rewrite a clean copy of all of them to send in. I'm actually getting a refund this year instead of having to pay, so I'm eager to send them in! The state taxes requires one or two different forms, so that will be more work, for later in the week.

Hi everyone. You are all doing great! Welcome grammea to this challenge - I hope you find it as helpful as I have. dtesposito, I'm so happy you are getting a refund! Here in Canada they don't have to give us our tax info until Feb 28, so I can't do mine although I did pick up the forms this week, when they finally put them out at the post office (at the drug store.). And I'm sure I have to pay, so the only rush is to get it off my list. I did not have a good week. Mon PM, Tues AM I came down with this dreaded flu or whatever. I had to cancel my visit with my long ago friend, and have been pretty much housebound all week, except for a trip to the drug store to pick up cold meds. No waterfit, and very little exercising. No energy, and I get short of breath upon the littlest exertion right now. So, most of last week's list did not get done. So this week's plans are: Exercise - waterfit x 3 none (Mon I had a bad tummy as well) - other exercises x 3 or 4 did full exercise routines Su and Th, only got through half of one on Sat. DR chairs - recover seat that is removed yay - did Mon I think - prepare 2 seats that aren't started - finish last 2 chairs Birds - maybe get 1 more male budgie (cage is ready in LR) - sit with them x 3 nights, to see if they come out. none. Poor birdies, only got basic care this week Paperwork (15 minutes a day): - prepare files for 2017 - set up file for incoming tax papers for 2016 - pick up tax forms when they come in (I am told that they can't be put out until Feb 5) Zone 5 - bathroom - wash light fixtures, change bulb Zone 2 - LR/ DR - change bulb in DR light - vac LR couch and chairs Errand - get a proper size crochet hook - hair cut That's all folks.

I am still feeling bad today. If this is a true virus I think they usually take about 2 weeks to run their course, so I will not have much on my expectation list for this week.
Re exercising - over the past week I have viewed many YouTube exercises, many related to Pilates, which I want to incorporate more into my plans, plus some sculpting using light weight dumbbells. (So far I only use 2 pounders. Waterfit gives me a fair bit of upper body resistance work using pool noodles or their Styrofoam dumbbells - it uses muscles just trying to keep them under water. I missed that this week. (I have to use the lighter noodles there too, I can feel the heavier ones aggravating my recurring tendonitis.)
Anyway, in my research, I came across 1 person doing Pilates. It looked like her video took over an hour - but the reality is that it's all 10 minute routines, each concentrating on a different area. (5 routines in all, some repeat over at the end.) I have not tried any of it this yet - but I think until I feel stronger I will try her routines. Goal as at least 1 per day, or until I can't go on - and then pick up the next day where I left off.
I think my big goal for this week will be to at least set up for my paper sorting. I will have an area in the DR prepared to hold this stuff. And maybe recover 1 more DR chair, but even removing the old seat fabric and staples required energy I don't think I have right now. I will also put any outside errands (except getting a few groceries) on hold until I feel better.
So this week's plans are: Exercise - waterfit x 3? (if feeling better) - Pilates at least 1 10 minute routine daily DR chairs - recover last chair in DR - recover arm chair that lives in my bedroom Birds - sit with them x 2-3 nights this week to see if they will come out Paperwork (15 minutes a day): - prepare files for 2017 - set up file for incoming tax papers for 2016 - set up containers in DR to sort recent papers - start working on 1 basket of recent papers, 15 minutes a day Zone 5 - bathroom - wash light fixtures, change bulb Zone 2 - LR/ DR - change bulb in DR light - vac LR couch and chairs
ON HOLD: Errands - get a proper size crochet hook - hair cut - get 1 more male budgie (cage is ready in LR)

Hollyhock, I'm sorry to hear you're sick, do you think it's the flu? Or just a bad head cold? I'm always confused about whether influenza has sneezing and sore throat--I think sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I really have to look online at some exercise videos--maybe I can find a yoga one that inspires me to do my stretching.
I have finished rechecking and rewriting my federal tax return! I can't mail it yet because I'll need the figures from it for my state return, and I want to take them from my good copy just in case (my scratch copy is not easy to read, and I don't have a copier here, so I just keep my scratch copy as my file copy).
Then, when I started looking at the state return, I see that I printed off 2015 forms instead of 2016...duh! So later in the week I'll go online and get the right forms and work on those. But not today!

My speech will be on Thursday night. I've known most of the attendees most of my life, so that makes it easier. It's a lot more comfortable that an unknown group. I do this once a year or so. It's been a year since the last time. The weather in February sometimes does not cooperate and I hate to find a speaker and have to cancel if it snows or comes an ice storm.
