Hollyhock, good work getting your paperwork sorted, I know that was a job that was hard for you to start. Lucie, I hope your dental appointment was painless... CC, I'm glad you get a shelving project done and are starting to make contact with social workers/therapists. I see you're planning gardening, I hope you can plan a reasonable amount, instead of so much that it occupies you for the entire summer. Maybe you can concentrate on your house this summer and by next year you can spare more time to garden. I love gardens but I know they are time intensive. I hope your kitty is doing okay! I got the little library books downstairs, that means one less stack of books in the DR. I just realized how many old emails I have in my inbox so that's going to be my goal for the coming week. I will aim to delete 2,000 emails by the end of the week. I actually have twice that many but I have a very busy work week coming up and don't want to overreach. The problem is, that although many of the messages are easy to delete, many are things I want to read, or check into--so it's not just a question of getting rid of them all. I already reduced the number of sites I subscribe to, so the ones left are things I really do want to read...so this week I'll try to delete a mixture of easy and difficult emails to total 2,000. Of course, that won't reduce my emails to half as many, since another week's worth will come in during that time. It'll be interesting to see what the total is at the end of the week, that will tell me how many I get in a week. Diane

Results of last week: The inspection happened Monday and was fine. They didn't even go past my entrance. He mainly checked the smoke detector and the front door to the apt closure. So safety features. Then I FINALLY found some paperwork in my cleaning routine papers that I had sorted, for a blog that I had been looking for, for a long time. I kept printing stuff out from other blogs but they were never the one I was looking for. Anyway this one has a 'calendar' for the full year, a page a week, outlining a cleaning plan, adding in deep-cleaning chores in addition to daily and weekly stuff. So right now I have decided to stop mine and work with hers, since I have been trying to find it again forever (or at least 4 years). Some of it is very similar - but it'll reduce my over-thinking and hopefully my volume of print-outs. I'm just going to go along with her plans right now, and put mine aside for a bit, and fine tune later on. Therefore several items that I put on last week's list didn't get done. Also I continued to feel ill most of the week and didn't go out at all until Friday. Goals for Mar 12 - Mar 18/ 17 Exercise: - waterfit x 3 if feeling better once - other exercise (light cardio, strength-training (with light weights) and Pilates) x 3-4, on non-waterfit days 6 days Annual Inspection Monday - clean apt Sun - good clean of bird cage and bird room - finally wash and put back 2nd light globe in bathroom Rest of week: Monthly chores: - clean kitchen small appliances - damp mop floors back of apt - damp mop floors LR and DR - scrub bathroom floor - scrub kitchen floor - pay bills and record - steam shower Quiet week: - work on Project 333 (clothing) - start crochet or needlepoint craft, set up daily crafting time Future: Paperwork: - sort pictures into memorabilia totes - go through old framed pictures in night table, add mainly to family history tote - see about getting smaller totes, will make storage easier (2 are now in smaller ones, 2 more at least could go in them.) - set up a schedule to go through interest papers and assess contents, thin out (maybe 1 category per month) - also to fine tune contents of individual memorabilia totes OTHER projects: Birds - sit with them x 2-3 nights this week to see if they come out twice - rearrange their room - get 4th budgie LR/ DR - change bulb in DR light (after inspection) ERRANDS - delayed until better - get 1 more male budgie (cage is ready in LR) - oil change on car - drop off donations (in car) OTHER PROJECTS: DR chairs - recover last chair in DR - recover arm chair in bedroom

Week of Sunday March 19 - Sat Mar 25/ 17
As posted above, I am now going to be following a list of items I had been looking for on-line for a couple of years. I'm not even going to post from her list this week, since most of it is related to planning things for April, Easter, and updating gift wrapping supplies, none of which I really need to do. So hopefully it will be a quiet week on the home front.
I really don't feel like getting out this paperwork stuff again any time too soon. The photos could take forever and I'm not ready for that. So my goals this week are going to be very small.
Get back to waterfit 3 times a week Exercise at least 3 other days Oil change on car Drop off donations Get budgie #4 Put old framed photos from night table in family history tote Change DR light bulb Work again on project 333 (clothing)

Thank you, Diane, my dentist appointment was ok even with all the drilling. I am glad for that. I have packed my suticase for the journey, I only need to add few things like a toothbrush in. I will be gone Tuesday - Thursday. After I come back I want to change my bedsheets and do some more laundry.

I am way behind in my goal of deleting 2000 emails and today's the last day. However, I have a light work day today so I'm going to see if I can't still make my goal. I'm at 1250 right now, and I've mainly deleted easier messages, so I don't know if I can finish without erasing some without reading. But--since that sounds like a good idea, I will try.

You can do it, Diane! 1250 is already a good achievement. I came home from the trip, unpacked my suitcase, did two loads of laundry and changed the bedlinen. Next week I want to wash it and clean thoroughly. The weather forcast is good, I may be finally able to mop the stairs.

Great job, everyone on meeting goals, keeping appointments, and keeping on progressing! i did not even post goals for this week. i will get back in the swing for next week. i posted some goals on the weekend workalong thread 3 hrs ago and here i still sit. time to get busy today.
i may have help moving the tall wooden shelf out of the entry hall! that would be so amazing to get that over to storage so i can make room in there and get some floor cleared and a sorting area set up. i also want to work in my garden and do some transplanting here on the balconies. and i want/need to work here in the apartment and make more headway. that has dropped into the background, although i got some sorting done like with like on the fabric and am chipping away at getting more of it homed.
i want to do a yard sale by mid april; by then i will have more stuff to sell and get cleared out of storage. i need to start 2016 taxes too.

Thank you lucie, I did make it to 2000! I left a lot of the harder emails but I decided to delete many that I had intended to read, but that weren't really that important, so I need to keep doing that. CC, I hope you were able to get your shelving unit out. Now--next week...I haven't even thought about it. Although I should probably do something related to the condo board, since I seem to have ended up in charge of it. I'll think about it and report back tomorrow. Diane

i'm sorry that the sudden role of head of the condo board got dumped in your lap, dtesposito! i hope you can delegate really soon! my day got way derailed when i went out to the car at noon today, only to find my front driver's side tire pancake-flat and sitting on the rim! long frustrating ordeal which i wrote about in my blog. i did little after that; watched some Dr. Berg videos because at the doctors' yesterday i discovered that the scale i was using was showing me as 15 lbs lighter than the doctor's scale said! so i am officially, shockingly obese. so kind of a sucky couple days and i got nothing done i had planned to. i posted weekend goals on the weekend workalong thread, most of which i can't do now so tomorrow i'll regroup and change gears to do things around here that i can do. i thought there was a dance tonight but the place was closed. oh well. i had a nice little evening stroll - the night was calm and quiet; very nice.

Here are my results from last week: Get back to waterfit 3 times a week I actually went 3 times but the 1st time the instructor had an emergency and wasn't there. We could go in if we wanted but I chose not to. Went back on Tues and Wed. Friday I didn't go, decided I wanted a day at home instead. Exercise at least 3 other days exercised at home the other 5 days Oil change on car Drop off donations Get budgie #4 Put old framed photos from night table in family history tote Change DR light bulb Work again on project 333 (clothing) I'm still thinking about my spring Project 333 clothing capsule. I did get a winter one set up, once I figured out my basics, but still haven't figured out my spring colour choices yet. (Re The Vivienne Files, in 1 place she suggests 2 darker neutrals, 1 lighter neutral (white or cream), and 2 accent colours. Still trying to figure out if I should keep black in my wardrobe, and where. So a semi-successful week, now that I'm feeling better I can get out more.

great job on your successes last week, despite lingering illness, hollyhock! i like your list for this week. i'm going to try to simplify mine so that it feels do- able. since my week goes monday through sunday i will post a challenge list tomorrow. so far i got done this week: seeing counselor seeing social worker transplanting some outdoor plants paying phone bill putting some fabric on new metal shelves food shopping at costco - always a big money saver keeping up better with the dishes playing with cat (he's been more sluggish this week.) scooping 1-2 x a day today i hope to: put away more fabric and other stuff find 2016 tax papers and receipts water houseplants put up beaded curtains (which requires untangling!) get more things sorted for donation pick up clothes strewn all over the place - sort some more to leave here. return way overdue library book if it stops pouring long enough i think i must have 20,000 emails - inspired by dtesposito i want to delete 200 today.

Today was a great day for cleaning, I have wiped, dusted and hoovered the flat, swept the stairs, basement, front steps, garden paths and a yard and mopped the stairs and cleaned a bannister. And I am airing whole house.
Next week I need to do a big shopping and I should visit at least one window company.
