It's dd's birthday today, it doesn't fall in a school day all that often. But being Wednesday the cheebs will be home for lunch, and dh should be coming home too. She only had time to open one present this morning, so I suggested one with a floaty scarf from us, she loves those and it's cold out there!
Snowing since we woke up, and settling again. Don't know if they'll be round with salt / the plough because everywhere was salted yesterday so the other roads may clear themselves. Ours won't, it's shaded, a hill, with a tight bend at the bottom and really horrible in winter.
I won't be taking ds to running this evening, don't want to go out in the snow, not sure about outdoor running in the snow, and dh is supposed to be having a team meal this evening in a restaurant, though given the weather forecast he may decide not to go.
Oh, and somebody peed in his litter tray this morning, despite having been outside. Guess he's not that keen on the snow...!

Ugh, the homework battle and ds has been caught out by the fact that he has not been learning his German verbs 5 per week and now there's a big test on 20 tomorrow, cue tantrums and much grumpiness...

So funny, we are supposed to be driving up to Nancy to collect a door we bought online this Friday. They've now phoned to say it won't be ready before the end of February, good job we aren't in a rush for it!

Glad things are potentially a little better with your ds, sorry you're still going through it though.
Ds has his first ever set of exams next week, and having been minimum homework boy forever it's a bit of a shock. He will probably do really well though, he learns and memorises stuff so fast.
10.30 and dd is still not asleep, despite her light going out at 9ish. Every night now, then she struggles in the mornings. She needs her sleep but just can't get to sleep.
Snow got bad, but dh had an important business dinner in the big town. He had a lift with his boss who lives in the next village, but he had to put chains on our car to get there, first time we've ever used them. Good job I remembered a) that we had some for his car and b) that I could suggest where they might be...!
Sorry about the interruptions, but well done for at least not giving up and getting someone done.
And woohoo for students progressing well.
Just waiting for dh then bedtime. I got the pastels folded but no more. Tomorrow needs to be an ironing day, and somehow at late notice I need to cancel my mammography appointment - due to go down to -17, so snow will freeze, then loads more snow due on top of that. I didn't cancel earlier because the forecast I saw said cold but no more snow...

We also start exams next week....unfortunately DS and DD have been taking State Test since day 1 of their public education. It is a huge push. DS is the type of student that will do nothing in class and then pass the test with flying colors. DD just does well all around. My DD has always been the child that can lay in bed for an hour or more and not go to sleep, DS on the other hand when his head hits the pillow he is out in a matter of minutes. How about some warm tea (or sleepy time tea) maybe that would help you DD fall to sleep faster or maybe she could journal before she goes to bed, I know when I have some many thoughts or ideas running through my head I can not get to sleep, something fun that she can write in, doodle in. Sending some warm vibes your way  I can not imagine that much snow. We might possibly get some snow this week, it is a wait and see situations. I hope not, just a mere inch stops us dead in our tracks. Schools will close ect. I hope that it passes us by. But on the upside it has not been really cold here so if it does snow it should not last long as the ground has not had a good freezing yet. Good Work on all your TADA's today you are getting everything back in order from your Holiday!!!!! I came home to a frustrated DH and two new surprises. I dryer stopped working yesterday so DH wanted to go this evening to get a new one. I already had plans to go to the gym and work out today so I told him I could not go tonight. He was not to happy with me, but I am always putting myself on the backburner and one of my January Goals to go to the gym and work out on Monday, Wednesday & Friday. I did not have to have a dryer until Thursday at the earliest and could go for awhile without one, but not DH. DH had a dentist appointment in medium town so he picked up a new dryer this am. When he got home the utilityroom floor was covered with water, the washing machine had also "bit the dust". So DH went to bigger town and picked up a washing machine. So new Washer and Dryer for the home of Roadrunner.  Of course DH is not in the best of moods.  Time to hit the PM Routine so I can get to the gym. I am going later this evening (gym is open 24 hours) Wednesday Night is their busiest night and I really do not want to work out in front of a ton of people. I have to use a new machine tonight and the machine that I have to use located were all the body building (men, women) use the heavier weights, it is so intimidating...but I will put my big girl pants on and do it. Gym sounds scary and intimidating, but  for you sticking to your guns and making time for it for yourself. I never make time to exercise and desperately need to. Oops about the washing machine and dryer, I take it neither could have been mended? But eek at letting him choose, did he get what you would have wanted?!! No more snow overnight, but dh has taken the chains off to go to work so let's just hope it hasn't frozen too badly. He didn't want to stop half way to work / normally only a 10-15 min drive at the most - to take them off when he got to the cleared roads. So tired. I get to sleep ok, but wake multiple times through the night. At the moment I'm not awake for long, just long enough to switch position so my should and / or back get some relief. But both are really painful by morning and I'm still never refreshed or un tired by morning. Dd forgot her handbag with her bus pass, lunch card and locker keys. Tried ohining ds as I noticed just after they'd left for the bus, but he didn't answer, and she doesn't take her phone. Dh took them, but the bus may well have gone before he went past the bus stop. She will still get lunch, but will have to wait until last. And she will have to carry all her books all day, and her sports bag. Her friend would normally share lockers, but they replaced the lockers this week, and you cannot get 2 sports bags in, let alone 2 sets of half day books as well. Can hear somebody struggling to drive up the hill, can hear them skidding / fish tailing and the road isn't reLly wide enough for that. Did sound like they took it a bit fast, but don't think a bit slow would work either. It should, hopefully, be cleared later, and my appointment isn't until 2pm, so I'm still waiting to see. I will go a long way round to get there, but no way I'm going down our lane at the moment wi only the first half of it ever cleared. Ok, today's list... |

WOW all that snow I just can not imagine having to deal with it. The news is still talking about snow here maybe some on Friday and more of a chance on Saturday. It is a wait and see for now, but I hope that it passes us by. I actually would be ok with some snow on Saturday as long as we can get to school on Monday, exams start next week and I need to see my students every min I can. lesaulerouge I invested in a really really nice expensive pillow and it makes a world of difference in my sleep, it is a memory foam pillow. This am Ddog woke me up at 4:35, it is hit or miss if he gets up and goes out when I wake up (normally at 4:30). I do not set an alarm I naturally wake up once at 3:30 (or so) and sometimes I get up then, but for the most part it is 4:30 and my fitbit wakes me up by vibrating. Today I laid in bed about an extra 5 mins and would have probably gone back to sleep if Ddog had not come and nudge me. So I got up assuming that he wanted to go out, but no, once I was up he went back to bed. I guess he knew I need to get up. Poor DD having to lug everything around with her today, but I bet she will not leave purse at home again!!!! If you venture out today be safe on the roads. |
