Definitely cannot go anywhere today - dh's car wouldn't even turn over, he thinks the starter motor is frozen. So he's taken mine. My car has a temperature thing which read -15 degrees C, and that was in the shelter of the house, dh's was out on the road. The roads are now sheet ice, though I have just heard the tractor out with the salt. Not going to work that fast though until the sun comes up, then it's due to be sunny, but probably cold all day. The road out front is sheltered by our house anyway - very big and tall - so our road stays icy even when the rest of the village has cleared.
I usually collect the cheebs and one or two others every Friday as they finish at 3pm, but I did say right from the start unless there was snow or ice. So I've called that one in and another set of parents will do the run this week.
Was awake for ages in the night, and am tired again, but not really ready to go back to bed, though a half hour ago I would have happily tried it! Kitchen floor needs some serious love today - Rover was playing with a piece of dried spaghetti this morning and I don't even remember when we had spaghetti...

Realised its Epiphany, so need to make a galette. I'm not supposed to have almonds, so traditional frangipane is out. I'm going to try something with mirabelles so got loads out of the freezer. lesaulerouge WOW you are on a roll this am Kudos. I had up galette to see what it was  as well as mirabelles . Galette looks yummy-yum. Stay in and stay warm today. Rover and The Spaghetti gave me my first smile of the day. We are still projected to get some snow this weekend, the totals have gone down, projection was 10 inches this am it is now down to 5 inches, "we shall see what we get". Morning RoadRunner, well there anyway! Wow, that is a lot of snow! Everything's got complicated here with far less, and the stuff to deal with it... Mirabelles are a regional speciality and our neighbour gave us loads, which I stuck in the freezer. They're taking ages to defrost though... Lunch eaten, soup simmering. Time to iron next. I hope your day is getting off to a good start. X |

Good Work lesaulerouge . I read online that Mirabelles are a plum. I love plums but around here I do not think anyone has a plum tree. As a child I lived in several places that plum trees were very common place and during the height of plum season I would eat my share right off the tree. My day is moving in slow motion for sure, I think the weather front coming in is impacting my mood.Today I need to shift gears a little with my class instruction to prepare the kids if we are out of school for several days and administration does not change the test dates. So frustrating to have to do the same amount with less time and expect the same results as if we had the scheduled amount of time. But anyway ONWARD.
