So there's this app called Productivity Challenge Timer that has helped motivate me in the past. It's a timer that gives you achievements and also ranks you according to how much time you spend working on projects. I thought that a thread that didn't just list my TODOs and TADAs but my ranks and achievements would be helpful to myself (and hopefully others). Anyone else use this app? Care to join me? I deleted all my data so I'm starting at the beginning. Here we go; Day 1. RANK: Unrepentant Slacker Achievement earned: What does this button do? Achievement earned: Well that was fun. Projects: 1. Daily wipe down TADA 1. Start dishwasher 2. Start laundry and bring up clean clothes 3. Pull meat from freezer 4. Soak burned food on stove. >< 5. Feed and train pet rats. 6. Start new forum thread! TODO 1. Feed birds and fish. 2. Bring kiddo to study group. 3. Fold laundry. Start new load. 4. Pick up both kiddos. 5. Cook dinner. 6. Wipe down kitchen.

DAY 1 Cont...
Rank: Unrepentant Slacker Achievement: One foot off the couch
Project: Daily Wipe Out TADAs
1. Dropped kiddo 1 off at study group 2. Wiped down kitchen counters 3. Looked at floors. They were gross, so I swept them. 4. Cooked dinner. Taco Tuesday was a day late. 5. Picked up kiddos 1 and 3. 6. Fed and watered all pets. 7. Changed project "Daily Wipe Down" to "Daily wipe out. It better reflects that this project is for daily house/kids/pet tasks and not just a wipe down. Plus, I can play terrible 80s surf music every time I see it. Hey, whatever gets me through my work. ;p

Congrats on bettering your rank! May that continue. I hope your back is feeling better. Thank you so much hollyhock! One of the things that I really like about this is that it averages out ranks over days, so I can't just work a ton of hours one day to gain ranks and keep them. Which keeps me accountable, but really stinks when I have off days. Finally ended up going in to dr today. They gave me a shot in the back and a script to take. So I haven't accomplished much. Day 3 RANK: Persistant Slacker Achievements: None TADA 1. Fed and watered pets 2. Dishes 3. Organised soups in cabinet and put the cans on the floor away.

Sounds like you're coming along fine, having ups and downs like the rest of us:) I had to come in here and tell you a story because of your name. This guy I know, his Aunt has squirrels in the attic and he is terrified of them. She keeps trying to get him him to come over and trap them or something but he thinks they are rabid and he gets anxiety just thinking about it. A lot of other people have mice right now, including some people in my building. Anyway, no one around here that I know of has the squirrels. The guy I mentioned is an online friend from out of state.

I set a minute timer for an hour and force myself to do house tasks when I'm in a stubborn mood, which is pretty often. I'm home alone and you'd think there'd be no occasion for such a mess with no one else to clean up after but I can make a fine mess all by myself. If that helps. Welcome to our group, Squirrels♡

Yeah Sunday was a great day hollyhock. DH was really upset about the Cowboy's, but it was a nailbiter of a game. And I got things done during it! So it was good. closetofchaos Love the avatar. And the name. Are you a fan of the TV show Friends? There was an episode where Monica (who was a real neatie) wouldn't let anyone see inside her closet. Everyone wondered what could be in there, and tried and tried to see inside of her closet. In the end, all it was was a mess. ;p My mom and my sister are/were real neaties, but they always talk about their "Monica's closets". And yeah, I thought "squirrelsintheattic" was a good name, both literally and metaphorically. We finally got rid of them after having them for years and years. That's a story for later. However, the worst apartment I had there was big brown bats in it. D: Thanks for the encouragement guys! I really need it some days! Day 6. Hanging out with sister. Do a todo list later!

My closet and whole home have undergone a major change since I first got here and I'm still forging ahead, albeit more gradually at times:)
