Coming up next.......Like the WIT thread, this is a place to list the jobs you want (need!) to get done next. This can be a list of 3, or it could be just 1 single job. It could also be all the jobs you want to get done by the end of today! Whatever works for you!
You can come back and check off what you've done or just refer to it whilst you work, and not post again. You can cheer on others and ask for support, or you can just lurk and get inspired by others achievements. Again, whatever works for you!

Busy weekend here, and it's going to be a busy and complicated week. The cheebs have a Scouts weekend in a hostel in the snow, so time for homework etc will be limited. Usually they do homework after school on Friday as both leave at 3 instead of 5.30, but this week they have orthodontist x2 and eye test for ds. They also need to cook something to take to camp, and fit in homework and packing, so Saturday morning will be hectic and possibly not long enough, argh. Ds is away seeing a supplier today, back late tomorrow. There's a meeting at school tomorrow at 6 about dss German exchange coming over very soon. Of course dd also has dancing at 6 in a different town. I can probably fetch her at 5.30, picnic in the car, drop her at dance all as usual then get back to school for just after 6. But then she will finish at 7 and I may not be there to collect her. Her bf does dance too and I have asked her parents before to take the long way home to drop dd back at ours, which sweetly they will do, except that bf is in a private school and away on a ski trip all this week. She will be warm and safe waiting in the lobby until I get back so may have to do that, can't miss the meeting, and she missed dance last week because she wasn't well. She hates having to catch uo because she gets things wrong and gets flustered. I guess with the German boy coming I also have lots of tidying and sorting to do. Spare room is not currently suitable for anyone to sleep in, and looks like the vermin are starting a new wave... We did go snowboarding, snow wasn't the best and both cheebs had new boards. Ds got his OK, but dd needed a change of boots (I did say it dd and ds that I thought the beautiful pink Hello Kitty vans boots were too small, and I was right!), and still fell a lot and got hurt and lost confidence. Got back and had to do the whole fill the house with drying boots, liners, coats, pants, gloves etc, and wash base layer stuff. Realised that ds needs all new base layer clothes, and that given this week's extreme lack of time I ought to do it then, so he and I went shopping. Got all the stuff her needed and a load more big plastic storage boxes. That's 11 bought this week, about 150€ worth. Glad I cook dinner ahead in snowbird days, we had chilli and rice in front of the fire and to, watched Maleficent which dd had been given for Christmas. Was really good, even dh said so and he doesn't generally watch films. Can definitely advise watching it if you get the chance. Then yesterday we did loads of sorting. Dh and I had already sorted snowboard stuff on Firday evening, so we now have a stack of outgrown boots, bindings and boards to sell on. Must get round to that... More things went uo in the attic - these boxes have no openings for mice to get into. Ds boxed up some toys to keep for his kids and they went up, and with heels dd sorted her Barbie stuff and that's gone up too. She's never been that into Barbie - she likes Monster High, has lots and a huge hand me down doll house that she sets uo as student lodgings etc, but her friends won't play with those hence keeping some Barbies before - but she's kept a couple for her kids, clothes, plus all the clothes I had for my Sindy (British version of Barbie). All Christmas / Halloween things are now in the attic, snowbird stuff that ds has outgrown and that is waiting for dd to grow into it, some radio controlled things dh has had for as long as I've known him but has never to my knowledge used, etc. I also boxed up the few special baby / children's clothes I've kept, plus bread emails dresses, fancy costumes etc, though those aren't in the attic because it's too cold. They could possibly go in the new wardrobes when dd's new room is done - she's having wardrobes along one whole wall, and it's a big room. Anyway, busy weekend, achey legs from snowboarding, pretty tired. And then the fire alarm went off today at 4.30am... Don't know why, dh thinks maybe dust, but it's been plenty dusty before. Either way, worryingly ds did not wake up. So getting a 3rd one uo in his floor is a priority. Dh, dd and I all woke, and I never really got back to sleep before my alarm at 6.40. Cat was in me, then in the bed, but no trouble, but I couldn't get to sleep. Cat is being very odd though. He set off the burglar alarm on Saturday, using his litter tray - dh has since adapted the position of the sensor slightly. But since then he's been bitey, he went for dh for no reason, he's been hyper every evening, killing his toy mice, charging around the place. Yesterday he was in my lap, I wasn't bothering him at all, but his tail was thrashing around and then he hissed at me, new behaviour. He caught a big vole Saturday night, and there are mice parts in the doormat from last night. Not sure if it's because he can't go off roaming like he usually does because if the snow and cold. Or because he can't dig outside to go to the loo like usual. We had frozen pipes again in Saturday so while in the cellar dh said there's cat poo down there, so guess he's going there instead, but he does like to bury deeply really. Don't know, but he's definitely hyper, wired and not very happy just now Gosh. Essay. Better get on!!!

Happy Monday lesaulerouge WOW sounds like and exciting weekend coming up for your DS and DD. Balancing the hustle and bustle of raising activity children....Kudos lesaulerouge you do it very well!!!!! I so looked forward to my children gaining their independence once they reached 16 and could drive them selfs to and fro. DD does it very well, very responsible goes and comes as she pleases, just informs us of where she is going ect. But I am not looking forward to DS having the same liberties. He will probably fail two classes this semester. We know for sure he failed Biology but we are waiting on his End of Course Test scores for American History I. If he failed the test he will fail the class. DS will be 16 in March and will not be able to get his license if he fails two classes. He will have to wait to get his licenses until after his next report card and will have to be passing all his classes. Which is only 2 weeks after his birthday. So he may just be two weeks short of getting his licenses. It is a wait and see game right now. If he does not get his licenses util later I will be fine with that. Will you and your family host an exchange student WTG you have made major strides in packing up and putting away sounds like you have a plan of action that is working very well. Sounds like Rover has cabin fever, it is amazing that a cats attitude can be determined by the movement of their tail. The thrashing of the tail, the easy back and forth movement (like a Musical Conductor) of contentment or the straight up in the air position of the tail while prancing around winding between your feet while waiting to be feed. They are so easy to read, they hide nothing. Today and tomorrow is a teacher work day, need to prep for the new semester with new students. I also have to met and working with a colleague as we are offering a workshop on Blended Learning using Centers at the District Wide Training on Tuesday. I am up a bit late today and need to get a move. ONWARD to the day!!!!

So, he has to be passing at school to get his driving licence, your rules, the school's, the state's, how does that work? And gosh 16 seems young. In the UK you can sit your theory test, then when you've passed that your practical test and potentially pass at 17, nothing to do with school at all, ever. You don't actually have to have had any formal lessons if family etc teaches you Here you can start learning theory at 15, when you pass all that you can do accompanied driving with your parents, providing they take a class first, then you can take lessons after you've done a certain number of accompanied hours. But you cannot take your test to drive unaccompanied until you're 18. Again, school is not involved at all.
Yes, ds is learning German, so we have a boy coming, only from Monday to Saturday, then ds will go there in May. A lot of the time they'll be with class mates so tbh the language learning opportunities are fairly minimal. Going to be weird though, we only speak English at home, only have British to etc, but the German big is coming here to learn French!!!
Non contact days sound good, I hope you manage for them to be productive.
Xxx

Here Drivers Education is offered through the school. At the age of 14 the students sit through a 3 week theory class that meets everyday after school for 3 hours except on Friday. They then take a test and if they pass (which DS did with a 96 highest grade in the class even higher then what is academically gifted sister scored). Then they have to take the practical part of the class (driving with an instructor) they drive for 4 days 2 hours each day. After they pass this part and at the age of 15 they can go and sit for their learners permit. It is illegal for anyone to drive without a permit or licenses, because we live on a farm and in a very rural area our kids did drive beforehand. They have to drive 40 hours with a licensed driver (parent ect.) once they have driven 40 hours and they are the age of 16 they can then go back and take the test to get their license. Once they have their license they can drive by themselves. For the 1st 6 months they can not drive after 9:00 at night and can only have 1 other person in the vehicle with them. After 6 months (and incident free) they will get the licenses that they keep until 18 or 21 not sure which one. This is all offered free through the school. Some parents pay for their kids to take the classes elsewhere, because of sports or other after school activities that prevent them from taking the class after school. It cost about 300.00 dollars. DS and DD both took the theory part at school but we paid for their driving part separate because through the school they would not be able not complete the driving portion of the class until after they turned 16. DH and I both got our license on our 16 birthday and we wanted our kids to do the same. The state that I live in will not allow students that have failed two class to get a licenses, and any student who has their licenses and fails two class will have their licenses revoked, until they have a passing report card. Our state has a very similar policy in place with teenage mothers who are enrolled in school and receive state assistance. If they are failing classes their state assistance is reduced. They are trying to keep kids in school and for kids to do well in school.
DD has full licenses now and is very responsible. However I am fine if DS does not get his license until he is 18, very irresponsible worried about him not making good decisions. However, DH thinks it is necessary for him to get his licenses so that he can help out more on the farm ect. It is going to be a up hill battle once he gets his licenses.
That is really neat to host an exchange student. We usually have 1 or 2 out our school a year. They stay the whole year with a host family. This year we have a student from Columbia.....Awesome soccer player speaks very little English but does very well, he is a hard worker. Most of our exchange students have a work ethic that is far superior to the majority of our students.
Kudos on your accomplishments!!!!!

Time to hunker down and get my week lined up. I have done well doing this on Sunday but this past Sunday I did not. Even though I am at work I am going to take the time to setup my week now.
DSs History teacher just walked by, I assumed he was not going to be here today because when I arrived he was not. That is the last score we are waiting on to see if DS fails one or two classes.
Yikes I left home without checking bunnies and Kitties, I did a bunny check before bed so not to worried, but sometimes (depending on humidity) their water will get low over night. DH feeds Ddog and always puts kitty food out to. So all should be ok, but since DD is home will call her in a bit and have her check.
The teacher that I am working with to host workshop is not here yet.....hope she shows up otherwise she will have to do all the work herself. The content of our workshop is based on her Course of Study using my technology skills to implement. She has enough technology skills to get it all setup but it is supposed to be a team effort. I will not worry about it I am here I am ready to work. No Guilt.

Wow, our kids dint finish lessons until 5.30 so that would make an extra 3 hours afterwards tricky - especially as dd goes up to bed at 8, and ds at 8.30! Sounds good to do it through school though, so many people here never learn to drive because it costs so much money, but then of course it really limits their job opportunities. I have friends who haven't done the accompanied driving or anything else re getting a driving licence with their kids even though they could afford to. I don't get why tbh.
My list is long, my wasted time is longer...

Hopefully pets will be ok, and dd will sort them if not.
Annoying that the other person isn't there, but as you say, you know you are! Do you have other hangs that you can be doing, or had you only got stuff for this?
Ok, I AM going to fold this washing...
