Thanks for the feedback and support. The inevitable happened. I pushed too hard and crashed and burned. Yesterday, I got the laundry sorted and ready to go in and the DW rebooted and my shake in my belly before my body went into rebellion. Lying down for 2 hours turned into a second 8 hour sleep. Followed by another 7 hours at a normal time last night. I know/knew my pacing was pushing it - now I know what happens when I do. So not amazing results, but useful to know results. And even though I'd felt dreadful, I still did something. I also had a word with DH. I basically told him that I didn't expect much from him. Help or don't... It's still getting done. But there are 2 things that won't be tolerated. If he says he is going to do something, treat it like a promise and don't break it. I expect nothing, but if he offers and I accept, don't let me down. No sabotage. Respect the areas that have been cleaned and take responsibility for messes created or occurring on his watch. And stop bringing crisps and chocolate to the lady on a diet. Kisses have no calories. A thoroughly sane post, clutterbuggles. You've got this!
It took me a while too to adjust to the amount of energy I could expend before a crash. You'll get into the swing of it.
The body temperature issue does sound like a challenge. I'm sorry, but I have no good advice to give you there. I hope you are able to find some relief from that.
Cheering you on!

clutterbuggles: Are you certain that you aren't having episodes of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)? The teeth chattering, sweating, nausea, and feeling faint all can be symptoms of that. Does your heart race and/or pound, too, when this happens to you?

Yesterday was a medical day, so my appointment plus the walk there and back knocked me for six. The good news is that I still did two loads of dishes, looked after myself and even cooked an easy dinner in my own kitchen. And, so far this year, I've lost 30 lbs/15 kg. The nurse wants me to aim for 5 lbs a month, so I'm not going to be going on a scale every five minutes because clearly what I've been doing has been working, so I'll just try to improve what I eat rather than reducing what I eat further. I'm glad I went big when buying the protein powder for shakes - I have 4 basic flavours but mix and match for crazy things like choco banana or strawberries and custard - so it's a little less blah than the same flavour twice a day. Thankfully, the dietician was on my side when it comes to the protein shakes. Doctors often are quick to dismiss them. clutterbuggles: Are you certain that you aren't having episodes of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)? The teeth chattering, sweating, nausea, and feeling faint all can be symptoms of that. Does your heart race and/or pound, too, when this happens to you? Arid That was initially what I thought, too. Except it's happening when I've eaten. The Dr thinks it's because my circulation is still adjusting to being upright again and I'm taxing it by trying to eat and go. I watched a TV show in the warmest room of the house while and after I ate last night, so I may see if that's a reliable solution. Anyways, I had a hefty nap in the afternoon, made dinner, tidied up from dinner, and went to bed. I can only just barely see that I'm starting to scratch the surface in the kitchen, but I'm ok with that and giving myself amnesty from self abuse. The little bit that I do makes me feel like I've moved house - it's literally every ounce I've got - so I know it's my best. I think that's the difference this time. I'm doing, not hoping. It will get done. Not today, but as long as one thing gets put away and more trash goes out than comes in, it'll happen. It's a bit like dieting, in that way. Today: More DW dailliances Drippy dog walks in the rain Perhaps a load of laundry if I have the energy Simple meal cooked at home Thanks for all the support!

Hi clutterbuggles I love protein shakes in the hot summer, I make a big blenderful, place in the fridge, and have a few gulps as I putter about.
I am going to share what I did..it may not be possible for you, but this was a good tip for me.
I was too low in veggie consumption back then, and if I used vanilla flavored almond or cashew milk- both unsweetened, (I add Stevia) 1 cup spinach leaves, blueberries, strawberries, etc, and whatever protein flavor of the day ( Like YOU do!) ..and blend very well..the greens disappear in both taste and sight and THICKENS the shake..and I loved that.
you get great protein, quicker digestion, nutrients from greens (kale can be used) and the great flavors of fruit and shake protein! Crushed ice used to be popular to add a volume of air (and burping) but the greens made a nice difference.

I can't face cooking unless it's outdoors on the grill or a mug of porridge when it's still chilly outside. I've had a tough day today and DH dragged his heels in giving assistance, but I'm just about getting up to having another attempt at finishing the day on a good note.

Hello clutterbugglesI'm so sorry you've had a rough time! But! I'm happy that you are now feeling better. I look forward to seeing you around. Also, I've been having hot flashes and night sweats due to the onset of menopause...Do you think that may be happening?

clutterbuggles - Just wanted to send you an encouraging "hello" and say that I'm sorry you are struggling with health issues, husband, home, and life. You do sound like you are on the right path, though. Just a little at the time, rest. Repeat. Take good care of yourself - that's the most important part. Sending you Peace and health and strength.

It turns out hypoglycemia was a factor as well as my low body temp issues. I saw the nurse to check after two very grotty feeling days and discovering that new meds in on can cause low blood sugar. I'm not diabetic, but the meds plus my dieting were making me feel it pretty badly. Not dangerous, but blooming inconvenient when your wanting to get on a roll and stick with it. I've still bumbled along and did something when I've felt rotten, except for one day when I went back to bed because it was so bad.
I'm giving myself a lot more kindness this time around. I'm learning I get more done when I do.
Today I'm getting pretty together, even though I slept badly.
I'd dressed, emptied and refilled and started the DW, and had a protein shake before 10am. DH and I walked the dogs half a km before noon. I had my second protein shake at 1pm and made myself some free time. I've also got a hard boiled egg in the fridge for a snack if I feel I need it.
I still can only barely tell I've done anything in the kitchen, but I've got a couple of pans to cook with, cutlery to eat with, 2 burners safe to use and I'm managing to keep in top of it and add to the clean items daily.
It feels good being realistic.

Hello clutterbugglesCongrats on getting things done in the kitchen. It feels great to use the kitchen with confidence knowing you have put your time in and it is just making your life more comfortable.

I've slipped a little. All it took was not tending to the DW while dinner cooked. Usually I put dinner on and put away the rest of what's in the DW while cooking. But something came up that took priority, the clean stuff didn't get put away, then there was nowhere for the dirty stuff to go to get cleaned and I hit a big pocket of "stinking thinking". I got back into it the next day, but it still felt like a failure. Today I've not been well, but I've decided tonight is a freezer leftover night so we'll only be using minimal cutlery and plates in the hopes it feels more like I'm back on track, despite feeling awful.

clutterbuggles..not sure if I posted this somewhere but there is a trend to TWO DW.. in small condos, etc, one to store clean, the other to load up with dirty..but the BIG problem I see is having two machines... neither completely clean or dirty and a sink full anyway.
nothing wrong with using freezer meals before they burn..convenience is a gift.

Leftover night was successful. It gave me a chance to at least catch up to where I was.
I think I need to aim to get back on my schedule with walking. It seems like more structured days are more productive days for me.
I've also found a local "meal company" (they provide pre cooked meals ranging from weight loss to weight gain) and they do homemade protein meal replacement bars. (£3/10 so cheaper than store bought ones.) I'm going to order some and use them for breakfast and stash some by the bed for the times I'm in too much pain to get up yet but start going hypo while I'm waiting for meds to kick in.
I'm having a slow start to the day. But I'm determined to get up and get moving. I may hit the chatroom in a bit for some challenges.
Wishing you all a productive day!

I barely have room for my little counter top DW. I wouldn't be able to keep up to two of them.
