Back from mid-day work. The weather was weird--the sky is grey, it's humid, and it kept alternating between feeling warm and then feeling cold. The storm is predicted to start around 5:00, which of course, is right before my 5:30 dog walk. I'm going to check the weather at about 3:00 and see if there's any way I can still do the walk, but earlier. There's no point in going if it's raining hard, the dog will NOT go out--and if I push him out the door and down the steps, he will not do his business, he will stand there looking miserable. So, I'm going to try to be productive, knowing I might have to leave suddenly to do the walk. I'm all ready for my condo meeting tonight, so I can do other things. Finish lunch Clean up from lunch Start small load of laundry Cat feeding Diane

Hi scholar! I hope you get to your appointment on time. After a short reading break I checked the weather and it looked like it would be raining within an hour, so I called my senior client and told her I was coming right over. I got almost the whole dog walk in before a light rain started, and I heard some thunder so figured it was time to go back. I had to use an umbrella on the way home but it's still only light rain, so I timed it pretty well. I have an hour and a half until I go to my condo meeting. Hang today's laundry up from dryer Put dry laundry away from yesterday Look up post office hours for tomorrow Make final check of 2nd BR Post in winter challenge thread Diane

Hi everyone. Lots if work getting done !
I slept well last night which was such a blessing. This morning I did my usual. Up showered dressed. Lunches packed. Cats fed and out and in. Bed made. Also folded and put away a load of laundry.
Dropped dd off at school and went to work. The day went well for the most part Had a couple of sleeper meetings but manageable. Had to leave early for a dentist appt.
Came home. A friend cooked dinner! Another blessing. I did the dishes. Wiped down the stove and also faucets and door handles and cabinets and appliances to keep my germs from spreading. Started a load if laundry. Now in wash
I want to work more on my taxes tonight. Nothing heroic. I need to look up some papers. Hopefully won't be too bad
Hope to get to bed at a good time. Tomorrow is a really busy day at work and I am still fighting this respiratory thing

Hi all magda I really admire you working so hard when you are not feeling well. I am having a bit of a down day and I struggle to keep going when I am not feeling the best. I'm not sure why I'm so down. It could be because I fell short on a couple of things I wanted to finish, or because I have a headache again today which I have had on and off for a week or so and I am just sick of it. This morning I have got the kids to school on time with lunches packed etc found 10 items for ohblondie 's 40 day challenge and taken them to the Salvation Army store taken my old stereo and speakers out to the bin as part of the 2017 items thread been to my father's house and helped him fix a problem he was having with the settings on his TV answered a very annoying work email I think it is probably the work email that has affected my mood so much. I was feeling happy and excited with my progress yesterday. I emailed off some reports, and I got an email back last night saying that I had omitted some details from the reports that in my colleague's opinion needed to be there. There are a number of annoying things about that. The first is that it's my report, I made my judgement about what to include and I didn't invite a critique from her on the content of the report. The second is that this particular colleague never fails to pass judgement on me and my organisational limitations and I feel that she really just wanted to stress that the reports are later than they should be AND still not up to her standard. She is neither as well qualified nor as experienced as I am and I find her interference offensive. The third is that I thought I was finished, I wanted to be finished by the end of February. And even though it's just a day, it's March now, and I have to look at the file again and I just don't want to. As I write this I realise that I really am very upset about it so probably best that I've vented it, and now I just need to get over it and get on with things. I also need to acknowledge that I could choose to ignore her feedback but I find that I can't. That is my perfectionism and need for approval at work. I didn't get through everything on yesterday's list, which may have been a bit unrealistic because I was feeling very positive yesterday. I did achieve a few things yesterday afternoon though. I took down the Christmas tree and decorations. It took forever to sort out all the tangled strings of lights. (So at least I met my goal to have that done by the end of Feb). I cooked a good meal for my family. (One son didn't like it but that's always the way) Still to do today: Dishes from last night's dinner and this morning's breakfast Put some washing on, fold some washing, put some washing away Find some more stuff to throw away for the 2017 challenge Add in some extra details as suggested by my annoying colleague and resend report Organise some files so I can put them away Take all of the Christmas stuff that I have packed away out to the back shed so that it isn't cluttering up the house. (The shed itself is full of clutter but that's a job for when the house is more under control). Pick up the boys, take them to cricket training, go to Dad's for dinner Get the boys to bed Magda, I'm really trying to follow your example of keeping on going even when things are difficult. I feel like going to bed and having a cry but will try to soldier on.

Magda, you sound so busy, maybe you need a day off from work to just sleep, in order to finally knock out your cold. Hi haywire, sorry about the horrible co-worker. If the report is okay the way it is, don't let her make you re-do it. And don't let her bring you down, you know you're getting a lot of work done lately! I am back from my condo meeting, we actually kept it to one hour! And it was not an annoying meeting. I'm going to eat dinner now, and then get ready for bed, I doubt I'll get anything else done tonight. I was going to watch the president's speech but I somehow just can't bear to watch him talk for too long. I will watch or tape the commentary afterwards, they will show the highlights (and lowlights). Make and eat dinner Clean up after dinner Scoop litter pans Give everyone fresh water Diane

Still struggling today I'm afraid. I have tried to keep plodding away but haven't found my mojo at all.
I have continued to pick up random bits and pieces that I notice around the house and throw them out or recycle them.
I have put on some washing and made a start on the dishes. Somehow the day has disappeared and it's time to go and pick up the kids from school. I will try to finish the dishes tonight and hang out the washing but that might be it for today.
I will have to try to do better tomorrow.

Hi haywirehousekeeper. Tx for your encouraging words! I think you did a lot today too, reading through your list. So congratulate yourself on that! Your coworker sounds annoying to offer unsolicited critical input. That would bother me too. And don't feel bad about not getting it done in feb. in some years, tomorrow /your today- would be Feb 29 : ) Diane I have been slowing down but it would be hard to not go to work. I am in a bunch of job interviews for a position we are trying to fill. They can't be rescheduled. But I am definitely at a lower pace and physically taking it easier to conserve my energy Well my taxes. One step forward two steps back! For some reason all the stuff I entered last night was lost. Ugh. So i kind if had to start over. But it was easier because I had all my paperwork gathered together and because the import function was working tonight. Last night it would not import. So did accomplish some stuff but not as much as I hoped Haywire I had hoped to have taxes done by feb so I share your disappointment too ! Cleaned the litter Folded and put away one load of laundry Started load two which is in the dryer now time to rest !

Well, I think everyone has done well today!
And on that note, I will say good night--I still have the cats to feed and medicate but then I will be ready for bed.
See you all tomorrow!

Hi again,
haywirehousekeeper : magda is awesome! She inspires me too. As do you!
I'm gonna join ohblondie's challenge. For me it will be deal with four piece of paper a day. In the style of Getting Things Done, which means whatever's on top. If the task takes less than two minutes, do the task. Other wise, put it in the system one way or another.
This will also get me dealing with my office. Because "the system" is still not set up!!!
DONE: get out da house make it to consignment by 4:07 (I had a window between 2:00 and 4:00, but it was quiet and I only had three items, so they were cool.) consign vintage mirror and small molded glass thing my DM gave me that I always hated--just didn't dig the design brought home the little table from the bathroom. I am relieved--I was quite ambivilant go to the opposite end of town (since I was 2/3rds there) to the thriftstore with the dolls in it find things for the next project in the mermaid bath: the fishing net ceiling! and and off-white long sleeve t-shirt (my mission) plus some bling, of course and TWO PIRATES! oh my, they are QUITE fierce! I will be posting pics on my blog tomorrow. then to coffee shop called my BFF1 who is mad at me and asked her if she would come talk she was still really mad--so I listened as best I could (but I am really sad now ) then went to the meeting--that helped came home--S hooks came, yay! still sad, though unloaded car unpacked my goodies and put them away wrote some notes

Last night was a night at home. The bus was re-routed because of an accident and there was so much traffic on the re-route. Well, I was about 45 mins late in getting home. Ran to the store and got a few items (mostly the coupon items in the paper). Grilled cheese sandwich for dinner then got sucked into a tv show (and dozed near the end grrr) so I just crawled into bed.
I had such plans for getting stuff done around the house.
I now have a list for today.
Off I go

Good morning ohblondie! It's a fresh new day, a fresh new month, and a fresh new opportunity! Hopefully you'll get some work done tonight.
Scholar, I'm sorry about your friend being mad, did you come to any common ground? Is she justified? In other words, is what she's mad about something you can do differently in the future?
I went out to my early walk today, it's still sort of misting outside, there are puddles of water everywhere and some small tree branches down, so it must have rained more overnight than it did by the time I went to bed. Some places nearby had huge hail but I'm sure I would have awakened if that had happened--I usually sleep through thunder and lightning, though.
I had planned to go to the post office today but since it's still rainy, and yesterday was too busy to allow me to pack books to mail at the same time, I'm going to put the trip off til Friday. I might go out later to a local store and the library, depending on how I feel and how much it rains.
That leaves me with a nice chunk of time between now and 5:30, so I'll get started as soon as I eat breakfast.
Diane
