Oh that's right, Hayes! Your Dear Niece (DN) is helping you declutter, etc! magda
Still ping-ponging. my Action Partner is coming over tomorrow, and since she has been hearing me brag about my house, I'd like to get as much as I can done, without losing sleep, etc. Maybe if I have frequent guests, I get into the maintenence habit through the back door.
DONE: rearranged a couple things in cabinet to make it easier to get to tools write to Action Partner decide I am going to hang a white board by the DR table so I can keep track of stuff--leaving for cruise in TWO WEEKS! brought in drill, bits, screws, kits, etc. to do so (they were in the shed) clean up kitty urp in office put summer hats and scarves away (from photo shoot) strip bed clean most of the kitty urp up in bedroom put bottom sheet on (so far) brush it off with nifty new "cat hair remover brush" (really an oversized nail brush) cause it still had hair on it after laundering
Just. Keep. Swimming.

My niece and I did a lot of work today. She was here for 5 hours and we did have something to eat and a cuppa etc so probably did about 4 or 4 1/2 hours work but I paid her for 5 anyway. I think she was a bit shocked at the state of the place but that was to be expected. She is not a tidy person herself so she wasn't too judgemental about it, just a bit overwhelmed.
She worked mainly in the children's room and got it looking quite tidy. Then I said we needed to pull out the bunk bed and clean behind it and that put a massive amount of junk back into the middle of the floor. We didn't get that lot finished because I had to go to pick up the kids and she'd had enough by then anyway I think. So there is a massive pile of rubbish, books, toys and clothes in the middle of the floor at the end of all that work. I have said that the kids need to help me clean it up now. They are not impressed but I said that since DN and I have done most of the work, it is only fair that they finish it off to remind them not to let it get into that state again.
At the end of the day I handed her the money and said that she should have a think about whether she would come back and help me do one of the other rooms next week. She looked very dubious but said she'd think about it. I don't think she will choose to come back though. She doesn't like cleaning very much, even though she needs the money.
It's a pity because it helped me to have her here. It's not like having a professional cleaner, because she needed to be told where to start and what to tackle and how to go about it etc But it meant that I was productive and had to stay on task all day and so two rooms got attended to, not just one. I can't really afford to do it again, but I would, just to get one more room done so that I feel like I'm nearly back on track. At the moment I feel like I'm about half way and I'd like to really break the back of it, and to do that I probably need to get the toy room (junk room) done. I could use some help with that.
Anyway, one step at a time. All I need to do tonight is clean up the pile of junk in the middle of the boys' bedroom floor and put their room back together as some of the furniture has had to be pulled out to get the job done, and one of the beds still needs to be made up.
However, since we're going to my son's cricket game in about 45 minutes, and won't be home till about 8pm, it's now or never. So it better be now.

Good morning ohblondie!
Haywire, does your niece live close enough to do just 2-3 hours work? Maybe if it was a shorter shift she would come back.
I'm just stopping in to say hi, I went to my 8:00 walk this morning, the last one with that dog for a while. I leave for shopping and lunch in 20 minutes.
Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Hi everyone. Thanks ohblondie. I feel a bit better today than yesterday !! So this morning my little boy cat woke up early and wanted me up too. About one hour of him meowing and running and jumping!!! Got up. Fed cats let them out. Very cold here. They were back In rsther quickly. He was still all riled up so i played w him for awhile Asked dd to buy lunch today. Packed mine. emptied dish drain. Showered dressed ready for work. Dropped dd off at school Dropped off my Lenten donation on the way in. I need to get things out quickly once I decide to donate. I picked it out last night Work is ok. I can mostly sit at my desk and work but I am distracted and want to nap !!i got some things done. Met w a person who lost her job and is networking. Caused a fervent prayer of gratitude for my job. I am very blessed. This person is also older now in the eyes of the work world. Prob 40s but it can be harsh once u are out if your thirties I think They do have a spouse who has a job so some income coming in and that is a huge blessing too! I have to really focus this afternoon and get some hardwork done that requires brain power. I am in the mood for mindless work . Tonight we have no plans. I hope to begin work on my consignment sale stuff.

Friday already!!! This week and every day in it have sped by like a speeding bullet. DONE: * breakfast * morning reading/homework * car inspection done * mailed bill and car registration payment * metaphysical shop - was lucky and the owner was in - she opened for me & I got what I needed specifically thus won't be going to the big blow out rock and mineral show - one of these years I probably will go but right now getting ready for my trip I really don't want to overspend so I just targeted what I needed here locally and I won't subject myself to the temptation of multiple vendors with things I didn't know I needed * lunch * stopped a place DH wanted to stop - I was so glad he said something! * financials * touch up on prep for the video stream series (scope train) coming up at 3 * helped DH find the spices in the kitchen he needed for this healthy bread he is cooking up... Next is call Mom and then do my video. My phone is charging and then I will test things out and be sure my connections are ok. Been a lot of issues lately. DH plans to buy fish for us for later and deliver some to his sister too. So it will be after 5 pm when things let up and I can continue with my stuff -- but the morning was successful in getting what needed done and found -- so I'm really pleased. I have decisions to make on Sunday but for Saturday I will go to the Y and swim if the outdoor temperature is warm enough 70 or above at 11 am -- I should be ok. Also, I'll attempt to pick up the necklace from the girl who is holding it for me -- she should be at the Farmer's Market. We will avoid the out of town stuff -- grand opening of some outlet stores is right near where the rock show is going to be too. I feel I made the right decision to stay out of the fast lane Saturday. Sometimes it's very hard to decide but -- I feel pretty confident about this.

Good afternoon everyone! I'm back from my shopping trip, I'm so glad I went, we had a very nice time. It's very cold but very bright out. I have about 3 hours before going out to my PM walk. Chris, you have a lot of willpower to avoid places where you know you'll overspend, so I applaud your decision to exclude the show from your weekend plans. Put refrigerated items away Cat feeding Start some dishes soaking Put away dry laundry from yesterday Diane
