I'm still chugging along. I did take one day off, kind of, but I spent the day doing errands and taking my neighbor on a big errand. The latter took over an hour. I'm counting it as a substitute. I'm happy with the work I've been doing.

Everyone is doing really well! Go us!
Okay, I'm still behind but not so badly. I dropped off a bag of 10 clothing items to the women's shelter a couple of days ago, just wanted to see it gone. So my tally now is:
Non-book items -- 26/40 (10 already dropped off) -- 14 to go
Books -- 25/40 -- 15 to go
Going to try to find the last 14 non-book items from the library or from a couple of boxes that are yet in the spare room. All the low-lying and next-to-low-lying fruit has already been picked from the other rooms.

By gar, I have caught up!
Non-book items - 31/40 Books - 31/40
Yahoo!
I also found two nice tea canisters and some new bath soap that I'll be giving to a friend this month for her birthday, and a couple of tin boxes for my brother's coin collections. So that's five more things going out the door soon enough.
Hope everyone else is doing well!

I haven't kept up as well here as I would have liked. Life keeps getting in the way. I have a pile in my laundry room. When I take stuff out of the drier, sometimes I am in a hurry, I try to hang up the items that I am concerned about wrinkling, like my uniforms, but many times it just ends up going into a growing pile. Today I went through my pile and removed several items. Some were put away, some will be given away, some were thrown away, and some went into a rag pile. I'm making very slow progress.

Did some de-cluttering while at my room and found another eight articles of clothing (already dropped off at women's shelter), five more knick-knacks, and six books. So:
Non-book items: 42/40 (!) Books: 37/40
I've got today and tomorrow to find three more books. I can do it. It's been an interesting fight between me and my books. They are not easy to peel off.
I've got four boxes of the Lent donations in my room, books and non-books. I'll likely bring those to a thrift store by the end of this month (have to go to nearest big city, women's shelter only takes clothes, toys, some cookware). I'm sure I'll be dropping a few more things into the boxes throughout the month.
This has been great ohblondie! Eighty more things I'll never think about again, gone and out!

I stopped purging paper after my last post, partly because of a busy work week, and recently, because of a toothache. But yesterday I went through my file cabinets and got rid of 70 pieces of paper so I'm current through 3/30. I will catch up, hopefully tonight, by going through the file cabinet again.
3/24 through 3/30 70 items from my file cabinet

I've still been at it. I think I may have established a habit of working on my home.
Today, I've got the goal of cleaning out my fridge. Which, shoot! I should have done an hour ago! Now lunch is going to be late. Oops.

Oh boy we are moving into Holy Week and Easter Sunday. I have to get back to my Lenten challenge.
I was donating one article of my clothing each day and at day 17 it was really getting challenging as I am not someone w huge stacks of clothes or a big clothes shopper. But i have stuff that can go for sure. I am mostly down to clothes that don't fit but I love them and hey someday! Or sentimental ones
I am going to really try and fulfill this Lenten challenge this week.

I did it ohblondie!
Non-book items - 51/40 (!!) Books - 40/40
Finding over half those books was not so easy. I'd like to clear out about one hundred more but I know that will be quite the challenge. I'm happy with the books I did get together! And the non-book items just leapt in by themselves!
Thanks so much for initiating this call to clear out before Easter. I wish everyone a peaceful Holy Week as we prepare our minds and hearts for renewal and rebirth.
Congratulations to all who participated!

Great job everyone!! I sort of lost count but some days made up for other days. I'm quite confident I'm on task for at least 40 things leaving my house forever independent of things that always leave like regular recycling and garbage. Right now it is fruit which will probably carry me through the week. I've posted a couple other places that our gardener stripped out our citrus trees this weekend (with no advance warning I may add!). So now I have over 300 grapefruit and about 40 lemons to give away or juice for us. Right now I have 4 dozen grapefruit and 4 lemons sitting outside for someone to pick up this afternoon. Going to do a major shipment tomorrow to friends and family!! PC
