You are quite right!
Small changes *DO* make big differences.
The important thing it to keep doing those "small changes" over and over and over again . . .!

Things are changing which is fantastic. I feel like I'm getting somewhere. Slowly the list is moving over. Ideally I'll complete this room today. Time will tell but I'm proud of my achievements so far. I'm feeling less tearful, less useless and less like curling in a corner and hiding from the world.

How wonderful to take back your power sadbuttrue! Take a few moments to really savour how that feels, in your mind and body.
Good luck with the living room today. You can do this! You've got the power!

Had more washing dried so the pile increased. It's decreased now as most of it is away or to be recycled. Getting there. It's so nice having somewhere in a few days, hopefully, that will be tidy and clean.

Well it was working, I was about halfway through when I mentally slipped and preferred to sit and cry, now I'm back and have hung 30 items of clothing which will be taken up shortly, the bin has been regularly looked after. No dirty plates or bowls left in the room. It's slowly improving again 😀

sadbuttrue; you are doing great work! sometimes a good sit-and-cry is just what we need to clear the air and throw off some of the pressure. Nothing wrong with crying - it's hard work both physically and emotionally - and WTG for getting back in there and hanging up clothes! atta girl, and bravo! hugs your way

I really like your word "prettify!" Have not heard that one used before, but I so understand it well.
Keep up the good work!

Well it's been a little while since I posted. I had almost got on top of things before slipping and preferring to cry some more. I'm back and halfway towards having a reasonable living room.

Some things seem never ending, the washing, dusting and hoovering for example. But there is a definite improvement. So many clothes have been bagged and recycled, I think we are nearly at the end of digging yet more of those out. I just hope I can continue, redecorating was my aim but I'm not sure health wise I'm quite there yet, but hey, a clean room, a clean start and a positive attitude.

Not giving up, it's slow but it's happening. I'm hoping we can get a 🐶, if we do then things will have to be tidy or they will most likely be eaten, bit of extra incentive for getting it clean and maintaining it. Sadly we lost our cat to leukaemia and cat aids on Saturday, so we are still reeling from that loss. He was a very important part of our lives. I don't want it to be long before we get another pet.

So sorry to hear about your cat. They do become part of the family and it is really hard losing one. I have 4 now but I have lost 2 that we had for a long time. They always have a special place in your heart. Know that you gave your cat a good life. Hugs.
