ccd, Years ago I tried a couple different things, I was never confident enough that I'd have success with wild yeast that you'd get from just letting the dough/batter sit out, so I tried once where you are supposed to use grapes, that have some natural yeast on their surfaces, I didn't have very good results, but might have not been doing everything quite right either. My current starter began with a recipe that called for kefir mixed with spelt flour. The first loaf of bread I attempted was so sour it was inedible, and the yeast was not as robust as I would have liked, maybe because it was too sour/acid, but I have kept the starter going feeding it with flour and water. I am finding that I like to keep in on the dryer side and am keeping it in a jar in the fridge. I cheat and add a bit of yeast when I make bread/pizza dough, just because it helps it rise a little more quickly. Ta-da's: More cleaning done Went for a short walk, It's too cold for a long walk. Spaghetti squash is in the oven To-do: Keep going! More laundry, etc!

Good job with all the flooring removal, yrwelcome. What will you be doing with the floor now?
Ta Da: --picked up floor around chair --repotted a plant --cataloged and put away some books. Years and years ago my husband, while unemployed, started a project of cataloging our books--complete with subject headings and Library of Congress classification numbers. He dropped the project as soon as he went back to work and never looked back. I can't seem to stop, though.
To Do: --water downstairs plants --? --?

Lots of good work being done here today. I didn't achieve much after my nap yesterday, so need to crack on with it a bit today.
Done: Did my big grocery shop (three shops and three and a half miles on my Fitbit, though a lot of the distance is me walking slowly round the shops thankfully as it's lovely weather for ducks today) Put freezer stuff away Uploaded some nutrition information to my calorie counting site before putting the packaging in the recycling
To Do: Put away shopping Do a load of laundry Decide what I am going to do with the rest of my wild garlic leaves (maybe pesto?)

Done: Put a load of laundry on Put away last lot of washing up Did a load of washing up (lots of it!)
Sorted out my manky ferment (I've just washed the veggies off really well and put them into some tupperware to eat over the next few days - very tasty so shouldn't be difficult!) Wiped down one half of kitchen worktop Cleaned hob (anyone know how to get scorch marks off a metal hob?)
Swept up biggest bits of debris from kitchen floor Cleaned bottoms of various oil/balsamic vinegar bottles and wiped down coasters they sit on Wiped over my kitchen weighing scale
Put rubbish from various bins into a black bag ready to go out Emptied some spoiled food into my composting caddy
Sorry, that was a lot - makes up for yesterday a bit!
To Do: Hang laundry Put away shopping Work out what in the fridge needs processing/using up today so it doesn't get wasted

Done: Hung laundry up to dry Put away shopping Made soup out of root veggies that were getting a bit soft (just needs blending)
Reorganised my fridge Wiped fridge out Realised I forgot to put my muddy trousers from my walk yesterday in the wash <sigh>
Put out recycling Put out compost Put out rubbish
Boiled some eggs from last week (I prefer to hard-boil old eggs so they are easier to peel) Let eggs boil over and rushed to wipe up my beautiful clean hob Burned my hand and spent 5 minutes running it under cold tap (have bag of ice now) - cleaning is dangerous!!!
To Do: Blend soup and transfer to a container for the fridge Put eggs in bag and put in fridge Do something with my wild garlic

grace, I hope those conferences don't mean a confrontation with your abuser... Thank you- yes, attending these things does involve having to share space with my abuser. My fight/flight is triggered the entire time, but I just cope with it. I hope my scary situations changes soon. 6-9 months of evaluations and then I will know the plan of the court.

Done: Cleaned hob (anyone know how to get scorch marks off a metal hob?) Is it stainless steel? If so, in the US we have a scouring powder called Bar Keepers Friend, which works well. Another thing you could try is dish soap with a nylon scrubber. Ta-da's: Got up, showered, went to church Stopped at grocery store, Came home and put some food in the crock-pot. Ate leftovers for lunch. To-do: Go for a walk, Do some more tidying up Pack up yogurt and other food for work meals for the next couple of days. Fold and put away some of the back-log of laundry.

So I just got back from hospital and I'm contagious. Therefore, two days off work - which means I must go in now and set up two days of work and request a substitute teacher! It never rains but it pours.
In the meantime, my bedding is washing in hot water.
Minerva, thanks for explaining that. I remember grotty from someone using it here, so I've got somewhat of an idea.

Oh! missjean! Do you have pink eye? That stinks that you have to go into work when you are sick! I work in healthcare, in a very small department, and we would most likely have to cancel outpatients if I am out sick, so I really try to avoid missing work. It's even difficult to get vacation because it is so hard to get coverage. ta-da's: Went for a long walk, even though it was cold out... Not much else. to-do: get some stuff done!
