DONE: download apps on iPad back up iPad read some blogs (needed a break) bring clothes in dryer from last night downstairs to fold (still in big pile) hang up wet clothes to dry put another load in the wash and another load in the dryer fold/hang dry load bring hanging stuff downstairs another load in the wash/dryer start timesheet check list go through travel bags in drawer and pull a few items to borrow try on swimsuits--pull four to borrow pull a cover up and two folding hats found my leftovers and ate dinner
I think another load is ready to flip...

That's a good strategy scholar!
I'm home from the walk, the kitty is back in his bedroom--he looked fine but maybe just a bit spacy from the anesthesia--he was affectionate though, and wanted to sit on my lap. I'm so glad that's over, and that she paid the bill at the regular animal hospital instead of making him go with "those people".
Now, to try to get a few more things done tonight before bedtime.

Hi all
Everything has fallen apart the last couple of days, and although I don't have time to write an individual response to everyone's efforts, I just read back through this whole thread because I knew that hearing about how hard you're all working would help to get me back on track.
On the weekend I was flat out. I spent all day Saturday getting ready for Sunday and then was out and about for 13 hours with two other mums and seven children on our adventure park outing in celebration of my son's birthday.
I was exhausted after all that, and have done nothing since. Nothing except keep life ticking over, get kids to school, dinner etc. But nothing in the sense that Saturday night's dishes (and all the dishes since) are still not done, no clothes have been washed, and the gradual improvement I was making in this house is rapidly disappearing. It's amazing how fast things deteriorate when you are only really just scraping back the layers of mess. A couple of days of inaction and it starts to look like nothing's ever been done at all.
I have some problems with pain and on Monday and Tuesday I was very tired and sore. Yesterday, I slept most of the day. Today I am a bit better, but struggling to get back into the swing of things. I don't know why I'm not getting moving. Whether it's still the hangover from the physical pain (which is still an issue today but less) or whether I just can't face going back to square one and starting again.
So I am going to set a small goal today. I hope to reclaim the kitchen. Although it looks like a bomb site, it is only a few days of mess, not a few months, so I hope that when I get back to it, it won't be as bad as I fear.
My aim is that, even if I do nothing else, I will go to bed tonight with a clean kitchen.

Hi haywire! You will find that once you clean something thoroughly, it's easier to clean the next time--provided you don't wait months to clean it again! So hopefully you'll get your kitchen back faster than you anticipated. If you have kids, you're going to have setbacks--I don't think there's any way around that. Just keep coming back and attacking it again!

haywirehousekeeper f-or me the hardest part is going f-rom "neutral" to "f-irst gear" if- I may use an automotive metphor. F_irst gear to second is easier, second gear to third easier still. So take heart, that if- you just stick with it, and keep coming back, it WILL get easier. It won't always be this hard.
And congratulations on a successf-ul birthday party! that is a big accomplishment! And I bet your son will remember this birthday f-or a long time.
I can't remember where i lef-t of-f-, but I decided to run an errand, so packed up quickly.
DONE: f-inish laundry f-old/hang laundry pack up laundry load car with laundry pack everything else up load car with that close down the house grabl some water splistville ran errand went to meeting lef-t ight away cause I'm f-eeling a little "chesty"
I need to make some medicinal tea next. I don't think I have any Vit C. ALL my supplements were way out of- date, so I tossed them. I hope I'm not getting sick. Some of- my f-iends have been sick. oooh I f-ound some dried eldeberries. I'm texting my herbalist f-riend.
