I've been out all day. Dh tried to give me the day off, but it turned mostly into errands. I did go get my nostril pierced, so I did something for myself. Dh did all my dailies today. I'm just checking in to say hi. Shells, I'm sorry you're in pain. When I lost my cat, even though it was expected, the grief affected me in ways I'd never anticipated. It's a very hard thing to go through. I hope that, with time, the pain eases, and you're left with beautiful memories.

Hi
Thank you for your kind words Diane.
I haven't accomplished nearly enough. I got sidetracked, then my SO cancelled plans tonight, which I suppose is for the best, but he cancelled due to a family obligation that is an ongoing point of contention. So I'm a bit annoyed over that I guess. I have the house to myself for a week as of this evening. It's both nice and a bit scary. One the one hand it's nice to have some alone time, but it also means, I have to challenge myself to keep up with things.
Up next Start a load of laundry 10 minutes in bedroom 20 minutes on computer project

Shells, how nice to have the place to yourself for a while! Make yourself a schedule for the next week with jobs each day, that'll help you keep on track! I'm home from my last walk--I met up with another dogwalker so we walked together. It's great when that happens, the dogs love to walk in a mini-"pack"! Clean up from dinner Sweep in bedroom Scoop litter pans Give everyone fresh water Diane

Hi everyone, hope your week is going well. Diane - the combined dog walk sounds like fun for everyone! Our little cat seems to be developing a UTI - DH has spoken to the vet and we have an afternoon appointment if needed. In the meantime I have been washing dishes and putting as much cardboard and paper into the recycle bin as possible. I also took a few items to the charity shop yesterday, but came home with 2 DVDs At least the DVDs take up less space than the donated goods.

Hi all
I hope that everyone is doing well. I have been absent for a while. I have continued plodding along but not getting anywhere near enough done. I have been doing a few bigger picture things, but in terms of actual practical day to day stuff, progress has been slow. Actually, I don't even really know what I have been doing so I don't know whether or not I've been making progress.
Anyway, I don't want to dwell on what I have or haven't done too much. I just want to move forward. I have someone coming to fix my oven tomorrow, and the lounge, dining and kitchen area are still very messy. I need to make the public parts of the house presentable. It is not beyond what is possible with a big effort, but it will need a big effort. I did a bit of work on the lounge room yesterday, but I feel that I am moving too slowly to get things under control by tomorrow.
So far today I have packed the dishwasher and turned it on. I feel like I must have done more than that, but I haven't. I am struggling to really get moving but I am hoping that reconnecting with others will give me a boost.
I need to get going now. I will check back in when I have some progress to report.

Now I'm feeling very sore and sorry for myself. I was cleaning up some of the junk that I swept out from under the couches in the lounge room, and I stepped on something, not sure what exactly, I think a small bouncy ball that my son got in a party bag, and lost my balance and fell over. I'm ok luckily, no major damage, but my knee hurts and everything is very jarred so I am sore all over.
Ironic really, that I can step my way over all this stuff every day, but when I try to clean it up I trip over. I am worried that this will slow me down but can't afford to let that happen. Of course, I could postpone or cancel the oven guy, but I don't want to. I just want to get it done. At least nothing's broken. There was that moment when I was falling when I thought, "If I break something I'll really be in trouble" because there's no way I could cope without bringing someone into this house to help me, and I dread doing that yet.
I feel very discouraged, but I am trying to see it as a wake up call. Most of what's essential could be done in a few days of focussed effort, but instead I have been dawdling along. I need to get on with it and get it done. So I guess I'll just take some ibuprofen and get on with it.

Hello jendela, I hope your kitty's okay!
SCHOLAR! Nice to see you back, I hope you tell us about your cruise once you settle back in.
Haywire, I'm sorry about the fall, good thing you weren't seriously hurt. Just do the best you can with getting ready for the oven repair, remember, those folks see all kinds of homes in all kinds of states--it's nothing new for them to see a messy house.
I'm ready for bed except for the cats, so I'll say good night--see you all tomorrow!
Diane

Good morning ohblondie! I went to the nearby store this morning so I could stock up on bottled water, then I went to a neighbor's apartment, I was supposed to help her start packing to move but she's not ready, and just wanted to vent for a while about everything that's going on for her. Now I'm home, and I don't have to go out until 4:30, for two late afternoon walks. Clean up breakfast stuff from this morning PEEP in kitchen Wash cat food dishes Start human dishes soaking Diane

Good morning, ladies and everyone who comes in today.
I'm back to it today. DH meant well, but he didn't do a good job with the kitchen. He just put the breakfast dishes in the dw and left the rest out. So, I'll be catching that up. I didn't do a good job taking the day off. I mostly did errands. I did do a couple things for myself, though. It was nice to not have to worry about cleaning up the apartment.
Done: Breakfast for the fam Dressed to socks Piercing aftercare Took meds
Next up: Snack for the boys Load and run dw Clean off/wipe down surfaces Sweep kitchen
