People who need to "see" everything: This is Mr 5. It drives me nuts. Particularly with papers. He does the bills and I've tried working with him for almost 30 years with no real success. Anyone like him who could give me some insight, I sure would appreciate it, because I just don't get it. I can file something away, put something in a drawer or cabinet, and visualize where it is when I want it, but he either can't or won't do that, at least with certain things. He's been known to actually put stuff on the kitchen table (which ours is piled high right now), leave it for 6 months (I actually kept the table clean and cleared back then) and even though he KNOWS, CAN SEE, that the table has been clean and cleared EVERY DAY, expects it to still be there after 6 months. I just don't get it. I have my own issues (I'm not very good at putting stuff away so it piles up), so I don't really nag him often (although he may disagree ) because that certainly would be the pot calling the kettle black, but it sure would be a big chunk of elephant eaten if we could solve this problem. Ants in vehicles: We live in the country and the small thicket that runs along our driveway has several pi$$ ant colonies (sorry, that's all I've ever known them called). Every vehicle we've ever parked on the edge of it gets ants, even if its clean as a whistle, especially if it sits unused for a long time. Once, we sold a pickup that had been sitting to a guy and it was SO infested you could hardly see the truck bed for the ants! He knew it, though, and didn't care. He had his employee drive it to wherever and I felt so sorry for that guy because the cab was as infested as the bed! We gave them a couple of cans of Raid, but still, I really felt bad for the guy. Mr 5 keeps a lot neater vehicle than me. I'm terrible about keeping one clean, although I've improved greatly since becoming a member at SOS so many years ago. I learned, just like in the house, that putting a trash bag in one and changing it once its full is the biggest deterrent to having a rolling garbage can. However, often when stuff lands in my car, it stays in my car until I need it somewhere else. I've been this way since I got my first car at 16. I'd get out of school, fling the books into the back seat and forget about them, never even giving a thought to the fact I had home work. I'm not that much different now. Once in a while, maybe once or twice a year, especially if someone's riding with me, I'll clear all the miscellaneous junk out and it'll stay clear until I start the process all over again ! I would be thrilled if someone clean my vehicle out. Wanna come to my house and do mine

Hello FivecatI've found that visual organizing is just not do-able. When the bar in the kitchen is clear...DH comes in and takes it over...He fans out all the bills, paperwork everything has it's own little space. He can't have that whole bar to set up his "office" it is just not practical. I gather all of this up because I want to wipe counters quickly and not have to go through "Pile Ups." When something gets lost...I have to scramble to try to find it. He says I laid it down right here , now where is it? I feel your pain Fivecat.

My SO would buy crackers and I would put them into the cupboard where I always put his snacks. Then he started to buy lots of crackers at the grocery store every week. I kept putting them in the cupboard until there was no more room because he was not eating them. At the store he started putting lots of boxes of crackers into the cart so I asked him "why?" are you buying more crackers? He said because we have NO crackers at home. I told him the cupboard was full of crackers, he said "no" is isn't. I promised and reassured him it was and he reluctantly put the crackers back out of the cart. Soon as we got home I opened the cupboard and showed him all his crackers were still there. That is when I realized that if he could not see something, it no longer existed. Really helped me to understand why he does so many of the things he does.
