I'm up and somewhat with it today. There is nowhere I have to go so I am choosing to stay home today and recharge.
DONE:
* showered & dressed to stay home * breakfast * read in The Self Compassion Diet (we are delving into hypnotism and self hypnotism this week and meeting on Wednesday to discuss it) * read in Soul Coaching and did today's exercise in my journal * bullet journal updates * took out recycling * fed birds * organized yarn for my next work * looked up the Cattery Shelter hours - plan to go there this week and check it out & donate something to their thrift shop - they take care of cats and get them adopted.
I don't feel great physically ... I've got another hemorrhoid flare up and I've also been dealing with a nervous condition that happens in my throat area tightening and causing little burps -- it's maddening -- but harmless.
All I can do is keep on going and keep working on the self care in a way that supports healing the depression and mood swings. There is not a whole lot I'm all that excited about right now -- but I do think the trip to Vermont will be positive -- I certainly hope so!!!! One month to go then I'll be traveling.
DH is quiet and in the bedroom. He is not interested in as many things as I am even.

Well, I've done more today than I did yesterday. I finished all my daytime dailies. I'm not sure how I'm going to work out the floors. Usually, I send the boys to their room while I vacuum, sweep, and mop. However, I told them they could play a game on my desktop, which is in the living room. I could wait until they're done; they get an hour each. But, I'm supposed to work on cutting stuff for G's school this afternoon. I guess I could do the cutting now, while they're on the computer. Actually, I think that is what I'll do. It's so great to have a sounding board.
Next up: Cutting/gluing for G's school - That usually takes me about an hour, so it's the only thing on the agenda.

Thanks for all your empathy and good wishes. My mom called me not long ago, and seems to be in good spirits. She's already run into an old friend at the assisted living place, and had lunch with her. And the aide was able to get her into a pullover top, so I don't need to do the clothes shopping after all. Whew! Take a walk with DH Take my a.m. pills Make an emergency food shopping run to Aldi --Make some phone calls to let my mother's friends know what's happening... Well, I'm counting it as done, although in all but one case I've resorted to emails and a mailed note card. I just can't face much talking on the phone today. Still To Do -- Go to Wal-Mart and try to find some clothes for my mom--she needs more tops that open in the front (can't raise her arm to put on over-the-head tops right now). Also may just order more snap-front fleece jackets from Blair if I can't find anything else. I still plan to go, but just for some extra socks for my mom and a couple of items for us --Stop at Mom's house and bring back groceries from her house that will just go bad if we don't use them --Watch some Eastenders online for my own sanity (yay, Britbox!) --Oh, yeah, I still need to take a shower --Decided to visit my mom in the early evening; it's the only time I can be sure she'll be in her room. Need to remember to take tissues and some emery boards.

I'm glad your mother is adjusting, Dusty. I hope the transition goes smoothly for her.
I did a poor job on the "Z"s for G's class. I did some of them right but not on purpose; the rest were very wonky. I hope the teacher won't be too upset about it. I don't think she will be, though. She's pretty cool. And it's for preschoolers. Who says it has to be perfect? I doubt they'll care if their "Z" is slightly crooked.
I'm going to start on a project. I have a bunch of recipes bookmarked on my browser, one folder for each of my two computers. It's a flawed system, partly because sometimes the links become unavailable, and partly because I have to either limit myself to one set during meal-planning or use two computers. So, I'm going to take each recipe, copy it into text format, and paste it into a Google Drive document. That solves both problems. It's going to be a long task, though, so I'm going to do it a bit at a time. Starting now.

Good afternoon, folks! Dusty, it's so great that your mom has a friend there--maybe she'll enjoy the socialization there and not want to come home! I went to my senior client's today, she was in a really snippy mood but I did some deep breathing and everything I said to her was pleasant and calm. By the end of the time I was there she had gotten much better. I really need to concentrate on controlling my reactions, it makes a big difference in dealing with her. Before that I went to a new client's house, they have a regular catsitter but she isn't available for 4 days of their vacation at the end of April, so I'll just be filling in. I'm not really looking for more clients because of all my aches and pains, but cats are so much easier than dog walking, and they're just a couple of blocks away, and it doesn't sound like it would be very often anyway, just when their regular sitter isn't available. I came home and ate lunch, and I'm trying to psych myself up to do one step on the little library. Step number two (after the sanding I did the other day) is gluing the sides and bottom together, then gluing the back on, and step number 3 is nailing all the edges. I did find an old bottle of wood glue in my toolbox, it's gotten thick so that it won't flow out of the bottle, but it's not dried, so I'm pretty sure it'll still be okay. Nailing is not my best talent, so I'm going to use my drill to make little tiny starter holes--I know that sounds over the top but I don't want to end up with a bunch of bent nails, which is often what happens when I nail anything. Pamela, your recipe project sounds like a lot of work--but if it will save work in the end, it'll be worth it. Okay, the bottom, back and 2 sides of the LL are glued together and are drying. Next: Wash more cat food dishes Pigeon care PEEP in kitchen Look for bird stencils online Diane

Okay, change of plans, I didn't do anything in the kitchen--instead I put all the nails into the sides and back of the LL--those pilot holes REALLY helped! I had so much fun! I'm going to glue the front part on before I leave for my 2 walks this evening, so that I can nail the front on--after that, I have to wait until I get some caulk to do the inside seams--I don't think that will happen til Wednesday.
Next:
Glue front Get dog walk bag ready to go Brush teeth Go to last 2 walks

Chris, sounds like you had a nice day at home, enjoy your DVD, if you decide to watch one. Pamela, you did good today, are the kids back in school tomorrow? I'm home, I had my usual senior client's dog walk and then a walk after, for the dog whose family is out of town. It really looked like rain throughout both walks and I occasionally felt a drop here and there, but it never did start. Now I'm eating dinner. I would like to finish nailing the front part of the LL on tonight before it gets to late to make noise, then I can't do any more until I get the caulk. Now that I've finally started, I'm eager to get it done. Finish eating Clean up after dinner Give everyone fresh water Check locks Diane
