While reading the SOoS dictionary I'm cracking up over the "socks mating or loss", with my 3rd cup of coffee in hand.
I will admit to some serious 'scavenging' at the laundramat "lost box" the years I didn't have a washer at home.
Everyplace had a big box with left behind clean-from-the-dryer or washer items...
I will approach the usually reclusive, sloppy guy,say that "I think I left some good socks" he MIGHT ask color and want to look for me, but I'd say " Oh don't bother, just let me dig for it"
he'd hand over the box, and go out for a smoke, or close the dutch door and hide from interaction. Being cheerful and chatty gets them to go away.
So, yes, I got to take home and use some great mismatched quality socks..lots of wool worn around here, people are just passing thru, don't return... so I am telling on myself here.
I mean, how low can you go when you take lost socks or clothing?

notanotherdecade hahahaha...yep the "Step away from "free" is my main challenge.
at least it WAS, and now I am being thoroughly punished by getting what I 'wanted' and dragging it home...so dumping, donating, spending all my free time figuring HOW to get rid of stuff, while being burdened with it all serves me right!!!
TODAY I struggled for 4 minutes after washing a cheap cotton lace curtain deciding how to save it, fix it ( tore up in runnels the length of one panel in the washer) or, oh, say cut off the best of the long panels and "save" to give away for a sewing project. to who??? not even the theater lady may want it!
WHEN will I quit this? huh? When? Wasting my golden years fussing over 'free' and all the ways to keep making thing useful
I STOPPED bringing anything in but food since 2011... I haven't even bought the magic feather duster in 4 weeks of planning to "acquire" it.

AHA...just discovered Swiffer has a feather duster type tool..which means it may be at Safeway and no special 'shopping' trip to BB&B store..will check out prices..
not to delay to keep shopping (heaven forbid) but but I need the best duster catcher for reaching up high on the bookshelves and not getting a pile of dirt in my face..vaccuums dont always work,
already tried a wet t shirt tied on a broom end, but it was no contest ( get it? 'wet t shirt contest'? no? you don't know sleezy chicks who win money at bars that way?
