Playing outside turned into a walk, which turned into inviting a friend over to play for an hour. Then it took 25 minutes to repeatedly wrangle T who kept running upstairs to the computer and clean up the bikes and scooters. I'm running behind. I don't think I'll be finishing that last load of dishes. *sigh*

Well, as usual, that wasn't as bad as I anticipated, but I gave myself a 15 minute reading break afterwards, anyway!

I'm the same way with mopping. I know it won't be that bad (except last week when I decided to do it all on my hands and knees), but I still dread it. Although, this week, the dread was less after what I put myself through last week.
Cut the boys' hair, got them each a hair-removing bath, got them dressed (they're totes in their jammies 3 hours early), and cleaned up the hair mess. Gee that was fun. /sarcasm T really hates haircuts. He's always convinced they're going to hurt, and this time it did: I nicked him with the clippers when I was cleaning up his neck. Fail. I don't even know how I did it. But, they look much better now. It's been a longtime coming.
Next up: Unload dishwasher Empty dish drainer Get started on dinner

Once again, can't identify the birds I saw--they were smaller than a sparrow, hopped along the ground, and had a striped head like a white-crowned sparrow--but the middle stripe seemed sort of yellow. I will have to ask my bird-watcher friend if she knows what I'm talking about.
Time to get my bag ready and go to my last walk.

G's pretty easy. In fact, both of them are. I use clippers. It's just a little more challenging with T, because I have to go slowly to make sure his hair doesn't catch in the guides and pull. I also have to keep up a constant stream of encouragement. But, it's really not bad, and it's a heckofalot easier than taking him to get his hair cut.
I had to use the big pasta pot because the dutch oven was still dirty. Never got around to that second load of dishes. The pasta pot takes forever to heat the water to boiling. I hate using that thing. I don't understand why people swear by them. After I got the filling for the shells prepped, I emptied the drainer. Look at me! I made good use of my time! Dinner is definitely going to be late, though. I should have listened to my gut and started it at 4:30.

Hello Diane and Pamela - you have both been kicking goals. bad weather here - we seem to have gone straight from summer to winter I am not sure if the weather is going to be pleasant enough to go for a walk as planned. Yesterday it was too wet to do anything. Well, at least I have a lot of projects at home I can work on, but first a coffee.

Hello jendela, now it'll be time for me to envy you--you're going into winter. It was in the mid-70s today, already too warm for me, it makes me feel tired. One more day of warm weather tomorrow and then it goes back to the lower 60s for a few days. I'm home from my evening walk, even the dog was a bit uncomfortable, he's older and has a thick coat and he was panting for most of our walk. I think he's going to have to take it easier this summer, definitely slower walks, maybe shorter ones too. And carrying a bottle of water for him. Finish dinner Clean up from dinner Start a load of laundry Go through mail from last couple of days Diane

Hi Diane - yes, it feels like we are heading straight into winter - come on over - although I am not sure you would be happy with our winter weather.
Good that you take a water bottle for the older dog.
I have changed the cat litter, washed dishes and prepped overnight oats for tomorrow.
Need to make a phone call and keep moving.

I'm with you on the temp, Diane. I was sweating up a storm, and it'll get 20 degrees warmer this summer. *sigh* But, it's worth it to be able to regularly have the boys play outside.
Dinner was an odd combination of epic fail and massive success. It tasted good, but there were a lot of mishaps along the way.
Next up: Dinner dishes to dw Get boys ready for bed Pay Porter bill Check T's lunch money sitch

Pamela, it's nice to hear someone agrees with me that it was too warm today--everyone I talked to was so thrilled with the weather, I'm always the odd one out saying--it's too warm for me, I don't like summer. For some reason I can't just nod along and pretend I like the heat, it would be a lot easier than having everyone look at me like I'm crazy. Oh well, nothing new there! The friend that I go shopping with is getting to be just like my sister--I'm going shopping with her tomorrow and she just called me and wanted to talk and talk. We're going to be out together for about 5 hours, we can talk then!! So now I just have time to get ready for bed. Move laundry to dryer Give everyone fresh water Scoop litter pans Check locks Diane

Hi Diane, MLS, Pamela and Jendela I have to admit I liked the warmer day today Did some yard work of clean up We had lots of branches of all sizes come down in a storm a few weeks ago. They were then covered in snow. Now that melted and we had a nice sunny weekend
I worked for about two hours, a combo of raking and bagging and sawing and tieing and dragging to curb. Dd also helped. We made excellent progress and got it all cleaned up.
That really tired me out ! We went to church as well
I prepared a super simple dinner. Did the dishes. Cleaned the litter. Took the trash and recycling to the curb.
