Home Life Dream -- Do the List -- Complete by Saturday at 12:30 I rocked this goal this week, I was done by Friday Evening It was nice to have a clean house on Saturday and not having any home task looming over my head.
Update -- We had three more snowdays so I made great progress on my Home Life Goals. House was cleaned by Friday yet again and I did not do any housework during the snow days that we were home for. I did go into work on Tuesday and Wednesday. I managed to complete all my daily, weekly and monthly task. I did have to rethink one monthly task and that was to clean the light fixtures. That task overwhelmed me so I have broken it down by room and will tackle them room by room instead of all in one sweep. Once I get them dust free I can take 1 day a month to clean them, but for now the time and detail I need to put into getting them all clean is more than I can do in a week. This week I did the utility room. I am still the the process of Prepping and Planning for the week and reviewing monthly plan of action. I may need to move these two goals to a separate goal and included, put away clothes and pick clothes out for the week. Truly I can not do them until Saturday or Sunday and I get frustrated with myself when I do not met my expectation. Clear Living Space -- Baby Steps every little bit counts -- 0 Progress in this area absolutely none not even a baby step
0 Progress in this area...I would get through my Home Life Goals and then just crash and burn here. It was like I could not face it. To much to handled. I am bumping up my time spent this week to make up for last week. Something I try not to do, but I feel the need to do it...I have to make this plan work. I will tackle 10 mins at a time 3 times a day. Mom to....... Doddle and Monkmee Super great progress here this week
This week DD submitted her 1st round for foundation scholarships, please all keep her in your prayers as she works towards getting enough assistance to attend the college of her choice. I made no progress on her tax verification sheets, but did get free lunch situation straight at Central Office which will help her.
Great Great progress on the DS horizon -- He got all his English Makeup Work done and is passing English with a 71. We hung his curtains up in his bedroom, and kept it tidy through out the week. He has been in good spirits. He got his car back and of course he was late coming home that day, by about an hour. He made several poor decisions. On Friday am I really laid into him about his decisions. He came straight home from school on Friday. Hung out with some friends on Saturday and made some good decisions. He was in good spirits and easy to get along with.
Financial Awareness -- Only worked 30 mins this week -- needed to have worked 4.5 hours

My week has been partly successful. I still need to take apart the Christmas village. I also did not clean the closet shelf in the LR coat closet, since I didn't need it for any Christmas storage. Results from: Sunday January 14 - Saturday January 20/ 18 Undecorating Christmas: Remove remaining balls and lights from Christmas tree Take down Christmas tree, put in box Put away nativity Sort through cookie tins in storage closet, see if they will fit in smaller tote (to locker?) Take apart village on bedroom dresser Put away battery-operated light strings (I keep them separate in case I could use them in a power outage) looking for a container to keep them all together Coat closet: Remove items from shelf Wash shelf Reorganize items as needed Return items to shelf Storage closet: Remove items from 2 (high) shelves left side of storage closet - wash shelves Remove items from (high) shelf (1) right side of storage closet - wash shelf (Most will be boxes for tree decorations and villages, plus cookie tins) Return boxes to shelves as they get packed up one side done Paperwork: Empty 2016 files from my fabric cube and set up for 2018 ME: Exercise daily - continue with 2 miles daily most days except grocery day. I decided last week that it's too difficult trying to do any projects plus do the regular weekly cleaning, with how I feel and what I want to do. So I decided to alternate weeks, and last week I worked on projects. So now this upcomimg week will mainly be just weekly cleaning. And since I will be doing weekly cleaning every other week now, I decided to make my zone/ deeper cleaning work wth that plan, meaning the monthly chores will be done 2 weeks of the month, so I will divide them into front of apt and back of apt. I'm currently following the rotating tasks for the month as per CleanMama's website. And I'll work on the front of the apt (LR DR kitchen and entrance) this week. And so that will be my goals, along with finishing putting away the Christmas village and exercising 6 out of 7 days.
Sunday January 21 - Saturday January 27/ 18
Still Christmas: Move tote of cookie tins and extra baking stuff to locker Find container to hold battery operated strings of lights and extra batteries, and put away Take down village on my bedroom dresser and put away
Deep Cleaning, Front of Apt. for Jan.: Vacuum baseboards (exposed) LR, DR, Entrance and Kitchen - add hall Vac couch and LR chairs Vac DR chairs Deeper clean wood furniture LR DR entrance Wipe down LR/ DR windows, inside Wipe down kitchen appliances Wipe out oven

Last week I did not do well, as mid-Sunday I started coming down again with this cold/ flu, which totally stole all of my energy. I did get the Christmas village away, but nothing else. (I got no weekly cleaning done, and barely got things done once that should be done twice a week.) Last week's list: Sunday January 21 - Saturday January 27/ 18 Still Christmas: Move tote of cookie tins and extra baking stuff to locker Find container to hold battery operated strings of lights and extra batteries , and put away Take down village on my bedroom dresser and put away Deep Cleaning, Front of Apt. for Jan.: Vacuum baseboards (exposed) LR, DR, Entrance and Kitchen - add hall Vac couch and LR chairs Vac DR chairs Deeper clean wood furniture LR DR entrance Wipe down LR/ DR windows, inside Wipe down kitchen appliances Wipe out oven

My biggest challenge for this upcoming week is to feel better. I will see how that goes. Meanwhile I have decided to go back to weekly cleaning now, and doing zones for my deeper cleaning and projects. Because the upcoming week overlaps 2 months, and it therefore covers 2 zones as well. In addition, I now have CleanMama's February schedule with rotating tasks and see that several repeat from January.
Anyway here are my deep cleaning and decluttering goals for the upcoming week per my zones. (Assuming I feel better):
Sun Jan 28 - Sat Feb 3, 2018:
ZONE Projects and Deep Cleaning: WEEK 5 (Jan 28 - Jan 31): LIVING ROOM, ENTRANCE, COAT CLOSET: (Potential rotating tasks:) - Vacuum baseboards (exposed) LR and entrance - Vac couch and LR chairs - Deeper clean wood furniture LR, entrance - Wipe down LR/ DR windows, inside Project: - Clean shelf of coat closet - Put container of battery light strings (for emergency) - add batteries - put on closet shelf
WEEK 1 (Feb 1 - Feb 3): LOCKER, BATHROOM, STORAGE CLOSET, BROOM CLOSET, LINEN CLOSET - vacuum exposed baseboards bathroom - wash baseboards bathroom Project: - clean/ re-organize 2nd shelf right side, storage closet

I still remain sick, but I did make a bit of progress last week. I actually felt better Friday, and was cleaning the LR/ DR then. I had decided I needed more exercise activity, so decided to move a piece of equipment into my LR. Therefore I had to move assorted tables that hold plants in front of the windows in there - stuff I had moved for Christmas. And as I move things I always do a deep cleaning there before I move the next piece in. So I inadvertently cleaned all along the rads in the LR and DR and did a quick windex on the windows - then realized, after the fact, that the rads were actually most of the exposed 'baseboards', and I was doing the deep cleaning, although unplanned on that day. And as I was moving the tables around, I was deep cleaning them too. The next day I did a quick vac of the couch while I did other vacuuming - so a lot of my projects got done, without actually intending to do them that day. But the cold/ flu lingers on, and I'm not sure if that all set me back or not. Here are results from last week: Sun Jan 28 - Sat Feb 3, 2018: ZONE Projects and Deep Cleaning: WEEK 5 (Jan 28 - Jan 31): LIVING ROOM, ENTRANCE, COAT CLOSET: (Potential rotating tasks:) - Vacuum baseboards (exposed) LR and entrance - Vac couch and LR chairs - Deeper clean wood furniture LR, entrance - Wipe down LR/ DR windows, inside Project: - Clean shelf of coat closet - Put container of battery light strings (for emergency) - add batteries - put on closet shelf WEEK 1 (Feb 1 - Feb 3): LOCKER, BATHROOM, STORAGE CLOSET, BROOM CLOSET, LINEN CLOSET - vacuum exposed baseboards bathroom - wash baseboards bathroom Project: - clean/ re-organize 2nd shelf right side, storage closet

Last week, as I was cleaning the shelf of the coat closet, and realized that closet is pretty much done for now (I did the rest in prior months, mainly when I put the air conditioners in there for the winter). Then it occurred to me that maybe instead of worrying about zones right now, I should just keep working on closets. In my apt. I have a whole wall of closets - the coat closet, storage closet, broom closet then linen closet - going down the hall. Then the 2 bedroom closets. What if I just kept going on closets, and got them ALL done, that would be a huge part of the apt done. And when I say closets, I'm talking about all of the individual contents, some of which are totes of things etc. Then when the closets are done, I will do all dressers, then all bookcases. That just seems like a big winter project and would get most things handled, then it's just the actual rooms themselves. And I'm talking about just working around the apartment with no time definition.
So the next closet in line is the storage closet. It's big. I still have the 1 hanging shelf on the right side to do, but then I have 2 shelf units along the back wall, and all of the items on them, mostly kitchen overflow and tools and things like light bulbs etc. And then other things on the floor like steamers etc. It'd be best to remove everything from the closet and clean it out, and then return it all - but that would make a big mess every where and I'm not sure I have the energy to do it all yet this week. I may do the side shelf, which is a lot of miscellaneous stuff.
In my bedroom last week, I re-organized my hanging clothes into better order, so that part is done. They are all Type 4 clothes, so are keepers. What I could possibly do, although out of order, is to work on the shelf in there, since it's a much smaller project than the storage closet, or the other closets. I can do them when I'm feeling better.
So my goals for this week are: Storage Closet - clean/ re-organize 2nd shelf right side Bedroom closet - clean/ sort/ re-organize bedroom closet shelf.

I love this thread, and I don't want it to get lost in back pages, so I'm sort of 'bumping it', although I currently do not have a lot of goals - but I'll add a few for this week.
We should be having our annual inspection soon (she said mid-March) so I'm not doing any more big (mess-causing) projects until it's over. But I am also in the midst of trialing a new plan, and increasing exercising, so my goals for this week will be mostly geared to daily ones.
Goals for Week of Sunday March 25-31/ 18:
Exercise 6 out of 7 days Work on Sunday basket (papers) on Sunday Do dishes every evening Keep apt inspection-ready Work on new weekly plan as per my list on my Listzilla thread Sew or resew buttons on: - gingham blouse - blue (winter) pea jacket - red (winter) pea jacket - hood of burgundy (winter) coat

I want to revive this thread. When I last posted, I was waiting for our annual inspection. We finally had it about 2 weeks ago, about 2 months later than normal. I'm still working on new plans. With the latest one I decided that May should just be geared to 'Summer preps'. When I look at the various rooms, I could almost do some summer prep in each, so that seems fitting. I do it for Christmas - so why not summer and fall preps too?
So a few days ago ds came over and we got in the ac units. Prior to that I had to move my furniture around, from where I had put it for Christmas. At that time I had put my china cabinet off-center on my DR long wall, and that ended up driving me crazy, so that got emptied and moved too.
So now that inspection is over, and the weather is (sometimes) warming up, I can continue on with more summer preps. (BTW I have brought out most of my summer clothes and put the winter coats and boots away.)
Part of that is getting my summer dishes in the china cabinet, cleaning off the balcony, and my main goal for this year (again!) - making new covers for my patio cushions. I hope to make a good dent in these over the upcoming week.
As an add-on, my exercising got derailed due to construction in both parking garages. At one point I had to park outside of the building, about 2 blocks away, and move my car twice a day. This entailed walking a slight hill, and outside stairs, which really bothered my knees (tendonitis). Due to the pain, I limited all of my outings and my exercising. Thankfully after talking to the supers I was able to get a spot inside, in a finished portion. However the construction team are now working in the areas near the entrance doors from the garage to the building, so those doors are now barricaded off. In order to get to and from your car, you have to either walk part way around the block, that includes a steeper part of the hill, plus a steep incline up the front driveway (or about 10 stairs), or the emergency stairs up from the parking garage, that are 18 stairs, and come up in the back yard. So although the climb is worse than when I parked on the street, I don't have to do it twice a day. However in the meantime I have gotten out of doing extra exercise, and I want to get in some every day now - except grocery day, because that's just challenging enough as it is. So right now I am trying to work on doing a mile a day exercise a day, whether outdoors or with a YouTube video. I've gotten out of shape!
So my goals for this upcoming week are:
ZONE/ PROJECT: MAY: Summer Prep's China cabinet - wash summer china and put in china cabinet - put crystal back in Other summer preps - move Bakers racks to balcony from spare room - wash down patio chair frames - wash outside windows - start making covers for patio cushions - make pattern loveseat cushions, cut out, sew one
Exercise: At least 1 mile extra daily, some with added weights
