Hollyhock, good work making 20 days on your gluten free plan--is it making a difference in your stomach issues?
Puzzle, I'm doing papers too, and this challenge is making me look at files that I haven't touched in years. Somehow it seems easier to have to do only 10 a day!
I'm up to 164 out of 400.

Yes dtesposito, the gluten-free seems to be helping a lot. I started out doing it because I had been noticing a lot of bloating. That is reduced. But the better outcome is that I seemed to always be craving carb-heavy foods after I ate regular bread. Mostly bread, and then of course a topping, like cheese or peanut butter. Since I have cut the gluten, so most grains, the cravings have gone away. I still like 'bread' out of habit, mostly sandwiches for lunch, but a loaf of gluten-free or a 'bread' made in a cup in the microwave using Gluten-free Bisquick seems to be all I need, so I am down to either the cup bread or 2 slices of the store-bought (compared to 4-6) and I have no more cravings. Thanks to this 'intro', this will probably end up being a whole lifestyle change for me.

I just wanted to report in and say that after 24 gluten-free days, I intentionally broke my challenge. I started this because I seemed to have very uncomfortable stomach issues that I thought could be caused by a wheat/ gluten sensitivity. Unfortunately on Day 24 the same situation returned, and upon further searching I noticed that most of my gluten substitutes were rice based - including 2 I had used before, and whose timing seemed to align with my using these 2 products - my protein powder and Rice Krispies, making me think that maybe they had been the original culprits and not wheat at all. Since my intent was based on timing, of what now seemed to be a challenge that no longer was useful to me long-term, but made increasingly more stressful, and expensive to continue using different sources that might not help at all, I decided to go back to eating wheat to see if I had any problems - and omitting the rice sources for a while. So, unfortuneately, my part in this challenge is over. BTW I ate wheat yesterday with no problem. (I just mainly need to control the portions now.) Thanks for the Lent challenge magda, and best wishes to all other participants.

Puzzle, good work keeping up your paper purge! I've done 30 more so I'm 194 out of 400--I'd better hustle because it's the 11th already.
Hollyhock, I'm sorry to hear about the stomach issues, I know they keep you from doing things you'd like to do, and it looked like you had the answer. You could always continue the challenge, only this time avoiding rice!

Thanks for that idea @dtseposito. But it almost seems too easy since except for cereal and the odd protein drink, I never ate much rice normally. I'd basically be giving up nothing. I'll see if I can come up with something else. (I'm thinking peanut butter, and that would be really hard for me.)

I lost track of days, since I went back on wheat, but after I posted on the 13th, I set a limit of 2 pieces of bread per day, and no peanut butter. I have kept true to the peanut butter, but on 1 day I had 1 extra piece of bread. I was still hungry after supper, so added a piece of bread to it, but have not had any bread (or crackers) as part of a snack, which had been a big problem. So I am still kinda in the challenge.

Hello everyone doing the lent challenge I wish I had the attention span and the patience to report on here what I have done so far. The main thing is I've done more work in my garage than all of last year. I spent time today downsizing ,donating and organizing my cleaning products and tools. I got my shark portable steamer out and I have been steaming everything. More to come.

Hi everyone great work. I donated 13 articles of my clothing so far. Nice things in good shape. That makes me at just 14 items and Lent ends soon. It is possible -7 days left of lent including today. I have 26 items to go. About four items a day. I regret not doing this daily this year. I hope to follow daily now, especially as it is Holy Week this week.
