" Wipe down tops of the Christmas storage boxes that have been on dining table for two years."
Living alone I find things magically stay where they are put, for years even!
See if I can at least scoop litter box. Not sure, will try. << too difficult a task, or unmotivated?
Sweetsunshower, My issue is inability to bend over, or stoop (sounds like it may be for you too) even for a few seconds to unload the dryer or scoop the litter box, so I finally began placing small stools where needed. I am now the proud owner of 5 scattered step stools, in various conditions, of various heights, (one has wheels- $20, came from Harbor Freight) and use them every time. When i TRY to skip using them I am rewarded with pain immediately.
I keep the nicest hand made wood one I got at a wood craft fair next to the DW to load and unload (and am pleased with its appearance), the 12 yr old splattered paint one with one bent leg is next to the litter box. The wheelie one is perfect for loading and unloading from the dryer (outside in the carport) as I am moving back and forth to fill or unfill a basket.
you sound so motivated!

Hi H2H, thanks for commenting! I pulled something in my back last night, which is why I said "I will try" to scoop. I wasn't sure how bad it was, but luckily, I was able to bend over and scoop...didn't seriously injure back, just a bit sore. I really like your idea of the step stools to use where needed. I do have problems with my knees, so I keep a metal stool in the kitchen and use as needed for dishes/cooking. about things staying put - so true! I've recently been "looking with fresh eyes" at things. Eek. My next thing is a throw blanket, meant for bed or couch, I put up on bedroom window because the shade somehow became unusable and curtain a bit see-through. So this was like...7 years ago? Just a guess! It is covered in dust, yuck...and I even have the spare shades...anyway, addressing this today. I have a hard time maintaining motivation/focus, but coming here, posting and reading, is helping lately.

Ta-da: Took another Christmas box upstairs to store in spare room. Bath/dress, finally. Took down dusty blanket from window, installed new shade. Cracked window open for some fresh air, too Bonus: Brought few more items of laundry, recycling, a trash bag, and dusty blanket from window down stairs in my plastic yard cart. To-do: Fill one more bag of recycling, take all three out to street for morning pickup. Wash 10 dishes, didn't do yet. Sort laundry to take to laundromat later tonight.

1) clean fridge - all drawers and shelves are out - sprayed down the inside 2) food prep from cleaning fridge - so far made a pot of "dump soup" sort of a very veggie minestrone - anything that sounded good is in there 3) continue with laundry - cat linens done - think I'm on my last load for today - actually doing the "rags" for the clearers two weeks early - normally I do them the morning they arrive.

Hi all. Much good work here! , Sweetsunshower, well done for putting those Christmas boxes where they belong. Isn't it odd how we "stop" seeing things after a while? I once left a pile of newspapers and books in a kitchen corner for more than a year. When I finally tackled the pile, it took only a few minutes to sort --- but oh, the spiders! TA DA Took a box of art and craft items to DD's school. Got to my 10am appointment on time Washed and hung out laundry Swept driveway clear of leaves and helped my neighbour sweep her driveway. TO DO Hang up clothes currently scattered all over my bedroom floor Collect repaired shoes from cobbler Finish my paper round. Of course, all of the above are just productive procrastination from what I really should be doing, which is cleaning out my awful study, which is a mess again.

Way to go sweetsunshower on getting the last of the boxes tamed!! 1) clean fridge - all drawers and shelves are out - sprayed down the inside I haven't done the door - maybe tomorrow. DH said the rest of it looks "new" 2) food prep from cleaning fridge - so far made a pot of "dump soup" sort of a very veggie minestrone - anything that sounded good is in there I stopped with the soup - was going to cut up some fruit and veggies but I'm tired. 3) continue with laundry - cat linens done - think I'm on my last load for today - actually doing the "rags" for the clearers two weeks early - normally I do them the morning they arrive. Need to move that load into the dryer and then done for the night. I think I pulled out about 5 kittens worth of hair in the laundry today! Talked to a few friends and relatives tonight. I was up at 5 so starting to fade. Good night all - thanks for keeping me company!!

Thanks for the support, folks! Everyone's ta-das and to-dos have kept me motivated I was able to get things going because I have been off work for four days, but back to the grind tomorrow. So the plan is to keep up with basics. Plan on tackling more big things on Easter weekend. But as long as I am working in threes, I am moving forward and not dissociating. Ta-da: Filled gas tank. Returned some library items at book drop. 3 loads of laundry at laundromat, and a bit of reading. Brought laundry in. Emptied dish drainer. Made mug of tea. To-do: Get that reading done, then sleep. Scoop/sweep before work. Wash up the dishes I use for breakfast. Have a great evening or day, everyone!
