Hi Wits!
Waiting for my UBER ride. I missed my bus. And guess what, my UBER fare is about $0.40 cheaper than what the admission to the event would have been.
Grrr... Dude just canceled on me.
Griping over. Now a list.
TO-DOs:
Travel to orchid show. Volunteer for three hours. Run around and fill my bags.
At home, organize for next few days:
Paperwork for Tuesday appointment. Paperwork for other clinic? Plan tomorrow.

phoenixcat Great job on the bed! That's on my list for today, too.
Tadas: 1)fed dogs 2)meds to dogs 3)had my morning meds & drank a glass of water
Todos: 1)brush teeth & hair (already dressed2shoes except for these 2 things) 2) I guess mail 2 more paychecks for caregivers. My DMom did not receive the ones that I sent last Monday. I'm a little worried, but am hoping they get them tomorrow. It should only take 2-3 days to Memphis from here. My DMom had to pay 1 caregiver on Friday and she'll have to pay the other one, today. But, I need her to get paychecks for next week. Dates are now all screwed up on the paychecks... 3)Call in RX refill

cando Good luck with your bedroom! That paycheck thing is a real dilemma - as I recall your mom has enough cognitive issues that she may not be the top choice for taking delivery on them. Any neighbors, friends or church members in the area that could help out? Trying to track mail in that situation would be even more difficult requiring people to sign for things or pick up at the post office creating more issues. Being an out of town caregiver is TOUGH - I know. Hugs. 1) eat breakfast / record calories 2) help DH move the bed so we can vacuum/mop under it 3) wipe down/dust the rest of the bedroom. In process. Vacuum needs re-charging so on hold for finishing the floors. Removed a bunch of cat bedding for washing. Our quilted mattress cover is in the washer. Load of towels in the dryer. Put away the last load of clothes I washed last night. Once again my linen laundry is running circles around me. Next: 1) Finish dusting - HATE it because we have a head/foot board that we didn't give 5 minutes of thought when we bought it. Full of nooks and crannies which does not do well in a room with full time cats. 2) Clean cat fountains - should have done last night but another job I dislike - they have to be carried while partially full to the sink - they drip, they are awkward. In the case of the bedroom one, I have to work with a pocket door to the bathroom and keep cats out of everything at the same time. They have all kinds of sharp edges and I always scratch myself. Then they are a bear to fill because we use the REO water and once I finish one - the stream is SO SLOW for the next one. I should do it every weekend - one on Saturday and one on Sunday but I'm not that organized. First world problems. 3) Check laundry. Once I finish two of these three tasks - it will be a good day because they are over for at least a week!

Phoenixcat, you're on fire today! Good evening (almost), guys and dolls. Owing to insomnia, I slept into the afternoon. So not a lot to report. However...
TA-DAH 1. Saved the burnt pot! 2. Found a home for art supplies and will deliver Tuesday. 3. Sent gardening question and photo to the Extension office 4. Sorted dirty clothes 5. Loaded dishwasher 6. Requested book from state library system - this is my cure for impulsively buying books
TO DO 1. Put art supplies into car 2. Go on a hunt for items to put away 3. Put clean blankets and quilts away (still sitting, folded, in basket from the laundromat trip three weekends ago,)

missjean- state book system ? is this a book from another branch or town? OR is this a ZIP book system we have in CA as a pilot program? wondering if ZIP books are now in more libraries/states. the ZIP (silly word- unrelated to the actual method) system, is a chunk of funding from a private donor, to encourage reading, you 'order' any book in print for $1. it can be sent to your home directly (no ship fee to you either) or sent to library for pickup..which wastes gas driving there, and getting it in a timely manner. Some ZIPS are by download to your device too, but you can't keep it, so not sure how that works. I have ordered many many books over the last 3 years. when I love an author I will simply order more titles month after month. (only one book per month allowed) you must RETURN the book when finished reading (they nag you by letter in a YEAR or so) but those books go back to the library for others. I love this as the actual PATRONS can grow the inventory in topics of interest to us locally. So more books on Food growing, or mysteries, or a jumble of everything depending on who is ordering.. I have never been told NO, it has to be in the Amazon system, AND has to be in print for 1 year, they will not order a new book sooner. This is MeL, the Michigan eLibrary, which has been around for years. It will physically send books or give electronic access depending on what is preferred or preferential; e.g. historic collections. To give you some idea, last year I borrowed some haiku books published in the '50s that are out-of-print and just this past month, I read more than six gardening books from various publishers including the Royal Horticultural Society of Canada, which was a limited edition. The newer electronic offerings are through Hoopla (limited number for a month) and Overdrive which "checks out" through Amazon's Kindle and audioble versions. There is no print-on-demand options
