Hi puppybix and blonde
So far just fed cats and made coffee
Must be very productive to get ready for biz trip. Three broad categories 1) get me ready ( packing etc) 2 ) get house ready / clean enough for sister who will stay, food for meals etc and 3 ) make sure dd is set
It seems overwhelming. Totally!
Yesterday when I left work I had to get things I needed for trip and some work done. I felt totally overwhelmed there too as I was in a workshop for two days. When super busy, I often get very distracted and do low priorities —as at least I am doing something. But not effective. So I made a list of 15 things that I had to do, ranking trip prep highest —that kept me on track
So I’ll do same here Next Showe Make list Hair appt

Good morning, peoples! Last week was kind of exhausting. A phone call from my mom yesterday morning was the last straw. I'd seen her 4 of the previous 5 days, the other day I spent working on her tax papers, and then she called demanding to be taken to the accountant for a schmoozing visit (during the height of tax season). I could tell from her tone there were going to be more demands coming up in the conversation, and I just cut her off. I reminded her of how much I'd been involved with her over the past week (which she legitimately might not have remembered due to the memory issues), that it was too much, I needed a break and I wouldn't be seeing her for a least a few days. I also had to explain to her repeatedly we can't have a schmoozing visit with the accountant until at least after April 15, maybe longer if the account takes a vacation after tax season. She couldn't grasp that the papers had to be turned in by March 15, but the tax deadline was April 15. I had to explain it over, and over, and over. On top of all the mom-stuff, I had some weird blood work results recently, the rheumy wants me to have it repeated in 4 weeks, and that whole thing has me on edge.
I ended up spending most of yesterday shopping for clothes. Which I do need, because of the weight loss. But yesterday, it was mostly escapism.
I made a list for today that mostly consists of things like reading a book, drinking wine and listening to music. I feel like mostly I need to get some rest and do kind of a mental re-set. First, though, I'm off to Aldi, the library, and getting my cash for next week.
See you later!

Good morning!
Magda and ohblondie, good luck getting everything done today on your busy Saturdays.
Dusty, good luck getting your rest today, after your busy mom week!
And puppybox, thanks for starting the weekend thread--what do you have planned for the next two days? Much decluttering, I hope?
I have mid-day work only today, I'm finishing up my pet care routine, and I have to get the condo building bank deposit ready to take in this morning. So, nothing of substance will get done until the afternoon.
Have a great morning everyone, I'll see you later.
Diane

Hi dusty !
At hair appt
I showered dressed Made bed Updated check book register Paid a bill
Worked on paperwork. That is not the biggest priority at the moment, I guess, but it does clean up my dining room table and my kitchen counters so I wanted to spend some time on it
I am overwhelmed w paper. So much flows into the house. I do a daily purge into recycling but still so much remains. It seems like March is huge time for mailings and lots of requests for charity

magda, sorry you are feeling so overwhelmed. remember you are a very competent person and you will figure it out and get it done. it will just be an unpleaseant process.
DustyD great work on self care. boundaries are good. your list sounds amazing.
hi everyone else.
i have turned off facebook so i dont spend another hour explaining to strangers how they think wrong. which i really enjoy. but it can be a bad thing. and definitely a time vacuum.
i have purchased milk since mine turned to yogurt overnight. and taken both dogs out. it's effing freezing cold again, why did i think winter was over? it's only march. and the returned snow means i didnt take my bike back to the store that didnt fix the flat properly and so it went flat again and now its been so long they probably wont do it for free
i also bought 50+ joint care health supplement. hahaha i am only 41 but i think my joints are 71
feed second dog. feed me garbage pick up clothes pickup take vitamins cans pick up make decision as to wash dog in tub or just wipe her

But then 3 kids and all the papers that come home from school. What do I keep? What do I get rid of? I find myself tossing out piles of stuff and hope they don't ask me where this piece of artwork is. Then all the copies of IEP paperwork for 2 kids. I swear it's the same with boxes, etc in the kitchen though .... I can totally get rid of all our recycling to big bin outside and then I have a ton more. PAPER PAPER EVERYWHERE!!!

Good job puppybox !! Rotated laundry Gathered dirty clothes and towels all over house (bedrooms, bathrooms, living room!) Dirty laundry sorted into loads Stripped master bed Unloaded dishwasher & loaded Cleared bedside tables (water glasses, eye glasses, kleenex) Tidied up laundry room shelves - tossed empty detergent bottle, put new items on shelf in garage, all extra items on shelf now (not on floor or top of machines) It's 10:30 and my oldest child is still in bed. Going to go wake her and get her into shower, dressed, fed and meds before I do anything else in house.

Good afternoon, everypony!
magda my mom gave me some excellent advice, which I need to follow today, myself. Pack First!!! What I have found is that it really lowers the travel prep anxiety, and then I can deal with all the OTHER inevitable urgent stuff that has to get done before a trip with a calmer mind. Because, in reality, this is the thing that really has to get done; usually some of the other stuff that seems like it MUST get done, can actually slide.
That being said, I just realized I have to leave in 45 mins. And I haven't packed.
DONE: last night girls night out (dinner after a meeting) unload car catch the last 15 mins the historic "Cinderalla story" unfolding that DXH was watching (!!) and text w/D about it (gotta keep up with my men on the sport thing) (March Madness) unpack totes make smoothie and take pic start today's lists check online balance and update my numbers do face and try out my "curl keeper" sleeping hat thing
this morning slept in, cause very late night *sigh* caffienated texted w/ D re: plans to see Shape of Water matinee made smoothie and took picture made pic collages, posted, texted (new haircut!) panicked discovered DXH had flipped my laundry and folded it
okay I must focus, probably won't have time to check in until tomorrow afternoon. Have a great weekend and don't let any leprachauns pinch you!

Hello again everyone, looks like a busy Saturday. I'm home from my senior client work, the update finally went through on her computer, but when I got to the Windows 10 welcome page (which I don't understand the purpose of, since she had Windows 10 on there before) an error message popped up a few times. But I kept closing it, and I managed to get to the main screen and the internet. However, my senior client had to leave for her CT scan appointment so I couldn't keep working on it to see if the error message returned.
Now I'm eating lunch, and after that I have to write some notes for my neighbor who has been out of town (our building treasurer) and go upstairs to return all the condo checks, mail, etc. He's coming home tomorrow, so that's one responsibility that will be over with as soon as I deliver the stuff back to him.
