I was reading through the posts. I am so encouraged not to be alone in this. I feel very alone sometimes not ever having anyone over because its just a disaster in here even after all the work I put in.
Thanks 2019 friends.

I am still in.. x 1 book, a few stupid old instruction manuals, old medicine packets etc all gone. I’m mostly decluttered of old stuff so I’m trying to maintain and also not acquire unneccesaries so 2 unwanted gifted toiletries went too .

Been there, done that, Di! hope the only thing wounded was your pride.
I've been playing with my clothing as I am putting together a capsule for packing. Noticing some "basics" that I've been hanging on to because they fit, are a decent color, and I've been thinking of them as building blocks. But I haven't been wearing them because they don't actually work with anything else, apparently.
So yay, more room in my closet (although less room in the "to dispose of when I get back" closet!)

Gonna try to do this. I'm not going to try to estimate everything, but I know I did a lot of purging in the past week. So, I'm going to estimate what came out of my closet, dresser, desk, and end table.
Desk: 10 cords/cables, broken car stereo, case of blank discs I've had for 5 years, about 10 broken writing utensils, 4 notebooks that were mostly full (26)
End table: 2 discount cards (one from Borders, so....), 2 key chains, a reward nomination letter, a reward pin badge (6)
Closet/dresser: 25 clothing items donated or tossed
From here, I'll start actively tracking as well as I can.
57 items discarded (editing to fix my odd decision to try to count it down, despite that being so much harder for me)

Thrown out 2 Yankee candles (so tempting to try to use the bottom bit when it just ain’t working - it’s like I see money in the candle ) Thrown out a tub of purple paint. These were difficult for me bc I’ve realised I see money in these items Listed an electric heater on a freebies website Generally things thrown out but also made it to communal trash Outside. Phew. Still in for 6 items a day

Was looking around with a critical eye to try and see what else could go.
Realised, the ugly window stickers (like it makes windows so you can see in) that were on my bedroom windows.
I put these on bc I’m groundfloor and particularly bc I wanted to hide my squalor. No squalor, no need right?
I will treat myself when I have money to a cheap netcurtain or something but bye bye mouldy window treatments!

That's a milestone for sure, Happy&DeterminedUK!
I think I might have inadvertently discovered a new standard for myself. as I am moving towards fashion blogging, I am realizing that some of my stuff isn't, shall we say, "camera ready." Specifically, fuzzy socks I sleep in, that I can't get clean anymore and have lost their elastic. (I was shooting a sock rainbow ) I'm always disappointed when they are the only thing left in the drawer. So how about tossing them and making room for something new?

I haven’t seen the Mari Kondo Netflix thing but that principle of “does this give you joy?” Is important. You love fashion and so deserve gorgeous socks! I have the same feelings about comfy socks I like but then i realised I paid £3 for them and I’m embarrassed if people see my white-fluffy socks are grey (even tho they’re washed). You deserve The Best socks, so toss and make room
