Wow! You did clutterborn i hope the inspection goes well. Are you selling the house as is? Outdated isnt something to be fixed from an inspection. New owners can update whatever they like. The inspection is more about structural things. Even exterior painting is the buyers job. As the seller, you get to select the closing date. Have you thought about that and where you will move too?
Its normal to feel down after a huge declutter. Focus on the good things, you are no longer burdened with all that stuff. Decisions were made and its gone. Take extra good care of yourself right now, selling a house and moving is stressful. Actually im going to bump my rx up, an increased dose for you. Two hours a day doing good things for you! Hugs

Hi dtesposito, yes the house sold the first day on the market. And, no we don't have a place to go yet. Will be putting things in storage temporarily. Am still researching areas online. If I don't find any cute condos in our price range, there's a nice apartment complex nearby that we can go to. It's small, but safe and affordable. Thought I had months, too - but, just once the major stuff was hauled away, things just fell right into place. Much easier to maintain, and I just kept on going. Still too much stuff, but I didn't expect the house to sell so quickly! We'll have the same guy who hauled things away for charity come to take more in August, and will be calling a junk hauler for the stuff he doesn't want. We'll be moving mostly boxes and several pieces of furniture. As long as we pass inspection, and no hurricanes arrive - we'll be good to go.

Haha Unswamping I'll accept your prescription of 2 hours a day reading or relaxing instead of one. Yes, we have a closing date in early September, and I'm expecting to have to come down on price at least a few thousand due to some repairs still needed. This whole thing depends on how much $ we have to come down to satisfy the buyers. Am also hoping they don't back out. They have that option after the inspection. We're not that super-stressed though, because it's all moved so quickly, kind of like a whirlwind. A flurry of appointments, paperwork, phone calls etc. Never in a million years did I expect it to sell this quickly. Starting tomorrow, I'm going to *try* to start enjoying this whole process because it's been a BIG pain the whole time. You made me realize "why be so stressed?" What we want to happen is actually happening, so go with the flow. My attitude has changed though, as I am excited about the move now - as opposed to the initial dread I felt. Once the majority of the unwanted stuff left, life got much easier. It's kind of amazing in a way. (There's still much more stuff, but it's small stuff & managable.) Thank you so much for your continued support.

congratulations, clutterborn! i hope they don't try to talk you down TOO far in price if it's already a lowball offer - but as you say, onward! you are literally moving mountains! what an exciting time for you and dh. i hope everything goes well and things continually fall into place. you've worked hard for this, and it's nice to read how much easier things have become in letting go of the unwanted stuff.

clutterborn even good stress is stressful. Just ask any bride planning her wedding. I hope things go smoothly tomorrow with no unexpected surprises. Yes you are excited about the move but packng up and changing homes is still stressful. Try to enjoy whatever you can.

Thank you, creativechaos. Funny thing is, some of the condos we've looked at are sold furnished. (Owned by Snowbirds that live out of state.) They're the more affordable ones, because people don't want all the stuff. We may wind up buying one of them, and getting rid of someone else's stuff too! I find that idea quite humorous, in a weird sort of way.

Packing is horrible, there's still too much stuff. And, I won't know about the buyer's inspection results until August 2nd, after the due-diligence period. This is still all too over-whelming without another person to physically help me. Am drowning in a sea of overwhelming flotsam. So much stuff put out for the trash, with just one trash can allowed. So much more trash patiently bagged up, awaiting its demise next week. And, it's all so uncertain until next month. But, am done for the day and will relax for my prescribed 2 hours... maybe.

Still packing. Still too much stuff, even after the junk guys came. Stuff in drawers, stuff under cabinets, stuff in the closet. The garage is all packed and ready to go except for a barbecue that someone's coming to get in a week. The living room's all packed, as is the family room. It's just the bedrooms, closets & bathrooms left.
I'm out of plastic tubbies, have to keep buying more and more boxes. This is just awful. Even though I got rid of most of the big stuff, the little stuff is killing me. More and more trips to the thrift shop. Things are breaking as I pick them up, am tripping over things, etc. Plus, I keep getting stomach aches.
A snake under a planter I picked up to donate that got into the garage, and I had to pay a guy to come out and get it. Container after container of trash has been leaving the past month. All jam packed.
Will this ever end?
Edited to add: And I had already decluttered before all of this! Thought I was organized... Little did I know how the stuff hidden away in drawers, cabinets & closets was waiting to pounce on me. Like a giant monster of clutter.

Clutterborn, does that mean the inspection was good and the sale is going ahead? I feel for you, moving is always awful, and for those of us who have too much stuff (and not enough help) it can feel like it will never end. I know money is tight, but there are people you can pay to help you pack--maybe through the moving companies? Although the hard part is probably the last minute sorting, not the actual packing. Look on the bright side--at least you didn't accidentally pack the snake and bring it to your new place! Diane

what happy news hope the inspection went OK and they don't lowball you too much; if they do, you should make a counter offer. Some people will really try to get something for nothing.
I think it's all like peeling an onion.... layer on layer upon layer and then there are still more layers....

thinking about you, clutterborn. yes, it's the little stuff that seems to go on and on endlessly... it is so wearying to have to make decisions about all of that little stuff. sending you good hopeful "light at the end of the tunnel" vibes - and i hope you are still able to claim some relaxation for yourself at the ends of these long grueling days. when you get a moment, let us know how the inspection went and how you are doing and if you are finding anything yet that you want to buy. wishing you the best on all of this. hugs; cc

aww, thanks all. I'm so sorry that I forgot to report back on the inspection. Yes, the house passed with the exception of the outside items that I knew needed repair. The buyer is going to take care of the repairs, so we don't need to. They want to remodel and update anyway, so it's all good. It's all cosmetic fixes. We have to be out by the first of September. lol That's why I'm in a bit of a frenzy right now. Never thought this would actually happen. Yup, dtesposito at least the snake didn't get accidentally packed. Am glad he's been relocated, don't think a dark garage is a good environment for any living creature. Thank you for all the support! It means more than ya'all will ever know. I get overwhelmed very easily sometimes. And, am always battling with "stuff" it seems. Today I keep throwing things away and getting them out of the trash. Get so mad at myself sometimes...

Question for everyone/anyone: Why is it that my " @clutterborn " in the previous message doesn't show up as a functional link?
